Good morning lovely ladies. Sorry been awol. No typing due to troublesome shoulder again so I'll keep it brief. I use my iPad. And typing seems to aggravate it. Not sleeping too well which doesn't help.
Moll, thanks for your pm. I'll get back to you soon.
Keeping busy here. Met a friend for coffee yesterday. Whilst out I picked up a fab trenchcuat with a detachable warm lining. Well at £3.50 it was a bargain because it's immaculate, so now I have two. One lighterweight in cream, and one slightly darker warmer one.
Not weighed myself but I've definitely lost inches. I think it must be the toning effect of exercise.
We are due some of the white stuff tonight so I shall nip out to the library and pharmacist later. I am all stocked up and my diary is clear, nothing that can't be cancelled if necessary.
I really am looking forward to spring now though......won't be too long now.0 -
Well The Season is almost over - The Season being Christmas, New Year, husband's birthday, my birthday, son's birthday, all within a month and all involving eating and drinking.
I'm very glad to say that although I have put on 2lb during this time, I have weighed myself today and lost 1lb of it. The last event is my son's birthday tomorrow and we are just having a roast lamb dinner, courtesy of Morrisons.
My son works at Morrisons, but orders his shopping online and has it delivered as they don't have a car. They ordered a £5 (money) joint of lamb. Morrisons had none so sent them a full leg for the same price. This is what we are eating for his birthday tomorrow.
Then back to normal for the rest of the year. Carry on with my weightloss and try to go to the gym more often. I am going to book a slot with a personal trainer to tell me what type of exercises I should be doing for my body type, and also how to do them.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
seven well done with your weight loss and also your sons bargain roast. I’m sure the bargain price will make it taste all the more succulent.
Lessons you picked up an amazing bargain in th coat.
Wednesday that is for the primer recommendation.
Teddy I hope you are feeling better.
I started my new job yesterday. It’s been full on as I have been travelling to the West Midlands from London for my induction. Luckily, I will be in London for the rest of the week.
It’s starting to snow in London, although it hasn’t settled yet. Who knows what we will wake up to!
At the weekend, me and OH went to watch Thriller Live! which is a show of Michael Jackson’s songs. I got some cheap tickets so saved £30. Sugar would have likes it. We were going to go for a meal afterwards, but it started to rain heavily so we decided to head home.0 -
Chanie good luck with the new job , That was a long way for you to travel for your induction ,
My friend from America comes over every year and this year shes coming twice,,,,,,first in March , we always have a week in London before she flys home , We are usually there in July , loads of things to do and gorgeous weather, but its going to be cold in March . If you can recommend anything unusual for us to do , let me know ( Weve been visiting a lot of years and done most things ) A pamper session somewhere would be nice0 -
Hellooooo.. De-lurking to say a huge thanks to Lessonlearned and everyone for such an inspirational thread!
I’ve been reading over the last few days (along with the Lemonade thread) & its given me a good kick up the arris to start putting myself first a little more..
About the perfume wearing, I have to be careful with smells due to lots of sensitivities in my Ma (who I care for) myself and DS1. That said I have found one or two delicate fragrances that work for me & they haven’t been detected by Ma..;)
I have various autoimmune grumbles that are well managed due to research and self care (I’m better at it than I thought!) yet there are times when I go into hibernation mode and on the odd day off struggle to get out the house.
I don’t drink alcohol, smoke or have caffeine, would like to lose the 2 stone that has crept on thanks to hormonal nonsense and the fact I ate bad choices knowing it’d make me poorly...
Trying my best to stay upbeat and positive, reminding myself lately of just how far I’ve come from how bad things were! :T
Here’s to making 2019 MY year.. After all, I turned 40 last month.. so I shall become fab at 40, yay! :rotfl:"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇0 -
Just popping in with an almost end of month update on my progress - have lost 10lb since 1st Nov which includes taking about a month out for DD's 21st/ Xmas/ DS2's bday celebrations where I didn't watch what I ate at all. Am not being as strict as I was, so should tighten up a little, really.
I've also had my hair cut and my brows shaped/ tinted this month (both last done last Summer) and worn perfume probably every day. My nails are growing really well, for some reason (I'm a biter!) so I've got clear Sally Hansen's hard-as-nails on to make me think twice (hopefully). That's probably about it - but it's all some progress to being more fab for the 2 weddings and graduation ceremony I'm attending this year!

Good morning lovely ladies.......it's a gorgeous crisp sunny winters day here so now that the ice on the windscreen has almost melted I'm going to nip out whilst the weather is kind. Just a little sprinkling of snow but the roads are clear and easy. So I shall Carpe that diem......:rotfl: and get out whilst the going is good.
I have already done my daily exercise workout and partaken of a healthy breakfast. Oddly enough I'm not missing cheese half as much as I though I would. And the yoga is definitely helping with my muscle stiffness, it's getting easier already. I'm feeling tons better. Just goes to show if you listen to your body and give it what it needs it will pay back handsomely.
madam Mim......what can I say, glad you are enjoying the threads. 40 is a fabulous age........young enough to still be gorgeous and energetic and old enough to have acquired some wisdom.. Enjoy.
Green. Well done in the weight loss, sounds like you are making great progress all round keep it up and you will knock em dead at the weddings and graduation.
I only remembered this morning that my grandson will be christened sometime in the early summer and of course I want to be a glamourous granny so another reason for me to stay focussed.
Chanie......good,luck with the new job.
Hope everyone is well and happy.0 -
Just calling by for a catchup.:)
Hope your new job works out well chanie. I was thinking of you yesterday. I finished my latest book (Thackeray's The Warden) and as Barchester is based largely on Winchester I recognised lots of the descriptions.
I'm going back to read the Introduction which gives the social context for 1850 (didn't want to read it first as it's a spoiler) and then I'm going to relax with some Irish chick lit...and think of you lantanna on your spa days.:D
Well done for posting mim. Perfume's a great lift if you can wear it but there are lots of other little way of looking fab. Posture is another of LL's P words.:D Have you decided on a plan for losing weight?(No pun intended but that's another P word);)
My fabbing sounds a bit like yours greent. I've thought back and it was definitely before last summer when I had my highlights done although I've had a trim since. Delighted with this week's cut and highlights. Monday, I'm booked in for the eyebrow shape and tint. My nails are growing well too and I'm having them and my toes done on Monday.
We had a bit of sleet last night but nothing stuck. It's gloriously sunny here today but it's also freezing cold and we've got football tonight.:eek:0 -
I really prefer that new Lily England hair brush, it's making my hair look more straight and smooth already. I threw away my old brush as that was crap, it cost about £25 as well. I threw away some foundation that was too pale for my skin, I was hanging on to it for no reason!
I had a bath and used almond oil, facial scrub and then a face mask last night. I put some body oil by the bath and then forgot to use it. I will do that later.:)
We didn't get any snow here. I have to go out tomorrow to get a couple of blood tests and then I have my mental health workshop in the afternoon. I'm almost at the end of it so it means I will be getting my EMDR therapy after that.0
