Thanks Humpty . xx It sounds like the hair stuff is definitely doing good , Sorry about your DH, hope hes better
Rooting for your DH humpty. Hopefully a sleep will help.
I'm impressed with the results of the Phillip Kingsley products. I'd love thicker hair. I'm definitely going to try it.
ETA: would you post again exactly which treatment you've been using.0 -
I'm in the middle of cooking but I will look it up later. I am looking forward to seeing how it looks in a month or two and with a good cut.0

When i am an old woman i shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves...
And make up for the sobriety of my youth

Moll and humpty I am thinking of you sending virtual hugs.
Flo 61 I remember that poem ,my ambition is to go out like a recycled teenager not a wrinkly.

Yesterday OH and I had a dade night. I shopped out of the wardrobe for an outfit, found a skirt I have no recollection of buying. We used free cinema tics from the bank and had a meal before. When we got to the restaurant I was busy and we didn't have a reservation, so we said as it was only 20 mins we would wait and were given a pager. We went to the bar waited to order drinks ,had drinks still no call, OH doesn't like to make a fuss so I d go and ask how much .longer we would have to wait, good job i did because we went even on the list to be called. I was told we would be next. Reported back to OH . Just then the manager walked past so I asked him I would have to wait , he said he would look into the matter, next thing I know we have a table and a waitress to take our orders. When we got the bill the price of our drinks was taken off. Result !. And we got out in time to see the film, Stan and Ollie.0 -
Sounds like you had a good night out eandjsmum.:) Very mse too. :money:
We had a similar experience to you in a restaurant recently. We had booked but it took the best part of an hour for our mains to arrive despite neighbouring tables receiving their orders. My SIL had invited us and was paying so I didn't feel I could take the lead in complaining. He did eventually and they promised a free pudding (didn't arrive!) but they brought us an (unwanted) bowl of olives between the starter and main. What really irritated me was the 10% 'discretionary' service charge added to the bill when they knew the service had been appalling. I think our order had been forgotten. I took to Trip Advisor and 3 weeks later got a response asking me to email them. It'll be interesting to see what they offer if anything. It's a chain restaurant (Brasserie Blanc) but unless it's something I can use locally it won't be much use as we were on a day out and far from home.
DH has now got my cold and has taken to his bed.;) Hopefully we'll both be fit for our holiday.:)
I'm having a quiet day at home. It's the first Sunday in weeks that we haven't been out so I'm looking forward to a roast. I love my Sunday dinner.:D I'm also going to catch up on my book. Once I settle to it then I really get into it.
Bright and sunny here but I've got a fairly busy week coming up so no plans to venture out.:)0 -
Quiet on here. Hope you're all busy with something really nice rather than feeling too unwell to post.:)
Two bits of fabbing planned for today:
I have an appointment with the hygienist. She's really good at advising how to look after my teeth and she'll do a scale and polish too.
Then later I have a hair appointment. I don't plan to have much length off, just tidied up and my fringe cut. But I am having my highlights done for the first time in months and months. The sun bleached my hair so much last summer then I extended it a bit with the John Frieda spray. I must have saved quite a bit.:)
I'm having my hair done today so that I can get used to blow drying it again before I go away. If I was one of the super rich I'd definitely employ a hairdresser to travel with me.:D
I'm doing well with my book, sat and read for a good couple of hours yesterday afternoon. I'm intrigued at how they're going to work out the apparent impasse they've got themselves into. Water's not doing quite so well. When my cold was at it's worse I was drinking loads (mainly hot blackcurrant) so I need to give that a big push this week.
It's a gorgeous sunny day here so it'll be good to be out.:) Snow forecast for many parts tomorrow though.0 -
Hello Ladies,
I had a really good weekend with my family. On Saturday I went to the pub with my sister H and I danced my legs off. I really enjoyed myself. :j:D My sister was not dancing as much as I was but she still had a good night out.
On Sunday afternoon I went to a Caribbean/Nigerian restaurant with my sister, my younger daughter and my younger son. We had a real Sunday dinner with a glass of wine each. As I rarely drink alcohol, I watered my wine down with ice and water.I had bought 2 Groupons for 2 people to have a 2 course meal with a glass of wine to make the meal a lot more affordable. I had a half of a lemon and herb chicken with roast potatoes, carrot batons, cabbage and leeks, a Yorkshire pudding and delicious gravy. The half of chicken was large, so I could not eat much of it with the rest of the meal, so I asked for 2 large pieces of chicken to be put in a container and took them home.
They will be great with salad for 2 meals later this week.
In the evening my sister H and I went to the pub for Karaoke. I sang 3 songs and I did a lot of dancing.I had a really great evening once again and so did my sister even though she chickened out of singing or dancing. My sister H is not keen on travelling by bus and for this night out she insisted on us travelling to and from the pub by Uber and she paid on her Uber account.
I am aching all over from all of the dancing today, but it was so worth it. After all that's what painkillers are for :rotfl:
My sister has returned home to Birmingham and I am catching up with washing and drying today and getting some much needed rest after my eventful weekend.0 -

Good afternoon people, well sounds like everybody had a nice weekend in varying ways. I myself decided, on the spur of the moment, to start painting my living room. Two things should have stopped me, I have had a niggly back, you know that thing where you think you have to wiggle something back into place, and I am quite wary of climbing into the attic when there's no one else in the house. My masking tape was in the attic and my favourite paint stirrer plus dust sheets. Well I'm an impetuous fool,so decided to struggle with the big ladder and at least get the masking tape down. I ended up wrestling with a box of painting supplies as I didnt have to actually climb into the attic. The dust sheets were too far back so were left where they were. After half an hour of going up and down ladders my legs were jelly. I'm so weak as I was not so well for a few weeks (not getting older lol) anyway cracked on and finished three walls, they were so shabby looking before, and now so clean looking. The next day my back was a bit sorer but not too bad, and then I bent down...OUCH ! Oh visitors will be back later:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j

I just ordered a make up primer that got very good reviews on Amazon. Gaya Cosmetics Primer Make up Base - Vegan Professional Transparent Foundation Face Primer, Quick Absorbing & Suitable for Sensitive Skin. Women said it made their skin so soft before they put on their make up.:)
I have an appointment to see my handsome doctor tomorrow (;)) but I don't think I will make it as I have had so many late nights while my husband has been on night shift last week. I will have to cancel it.
I also bought a new hair brush that is supposed to be good for detangling hair. My hair is slightly wavy and can have a hedge pulled through backwards look at times so it needs taming.:rotfl:0
