maman I’m pleased the funeral went well.
I really like those vest tops you picked up. I must have a look for them when I am next in ASDA.
Going back to my groupon massage. I was willing them to be a good business before I went in, as I really want to support more local businesses. The salon was staffed by two women in their early 20s, and I think their behaviour was due to their lack of experience more than anything else. I only paid £20, so it was good value from a cost perspective, but it wouldn’t be worth any more than that.0 -
10 hrs sleep WOW I needed that. So this morning I have washed hair and showered , lotioned and had brunch. We are planning a date night later still have 2 free cinema ticks to use up. Still losing weight. Feeling a bit better but not ready to take on the world.
LL I have read stuffication interesting read, chatting to boss yesterday day lunch time and got to hear all about his problems with stuff , he is a young man ,not long married with young child and is not coping well with partners stuff. I think the rest of us in tea room were more like therapy really.
My current read is Chloroform the quest for oblivion again academic but interesting.
Well must be off now as he wont do itself.
Keep fabbing0 -
Hi, I'm not feeling very fab. Had a bad night, DH is terrible pain and nothing touching it. I've been keeping busy, had a spring clean of the en suite , the house bathroom is mine and the en suite is his so my bathroom just gets a wipe over and tidy every day, not quite what happens with his so it is sparkling and bleached to within an inch of its life. The house has all been vacuumed, 2nd load in washing machine. I'm putting off doing some sewing, just a few repair jobs. I need an eye test, on my to do list, and I'm finding sewing a challenge particularly black on black. I'm pretty sure it is a new prescription for me so more spending.
I'm having a break and then the plan is to sort out the washing, make lunch, do sewing and then try to get out for some fresh air. I could do with cleaning the car but that might have to wait.
I think I might have a walk to the local pharmacy and buy some nail varnish and give myself a manicure, my poor nails will enjoy a bit of pampering after a busy day.
Hope everyone is well.0 -
ianandjsmum, well done on the sleep, its well quoted that a good laugh and a long sleep are the cure for many things.
Humptydumptybits, sorry to hear you had a bad night, dont overdo the housework stuff, looking after someone can be really draining, what with the worry and being unable to help. of course a long bath is a wonderful thing but sometimes just an extra 5 minutes in the shower, just standing there, is a blessing. You may just need reading glasses for your sewing, much cheaper, so try them out first. Serene fabbing is the thing for you right now, take care.:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j

Snap! That's what I've just done.I forgot to buy more Sudafed when I was out yesterday and I really need to clear my head.
I don't need glasses for close work but could it be the light that's the problem with sewing. We bought those daylight lamps last year as DH had watched me struggling with embroidery just before Christmas when the light was poor.
Sorry to hear you (and DH) had a bad night. Hopefully a bit of fresh air will help.:)0 -
Im here........... Nice that i was missed , i did fall off the waggon a bit when the old man spoke to me , but life has just been getting in the way lately , Like Maman weve had funerals ........FIVE in as many weeks since Christmas time ,,,,,,,, it takes its toll emotionally , Some were old and expected , and some were young and not so expected . but it all makes you realise you have to make the most of every day . and then our daughter is causing concern as shes not been well . although i ought to take a leaf out of her book , as shes just ploughing on with alsorts of ventures as if nothing is wrong .........
LL i was doing great , but the grandkids keep asking me to go to fast food places with them ( Mc donalds/ burger K ) etc , i dont even like the food!!!! but i think its lovely they want me to go with them , and they think in thier minds that its cheering me up , bless them , so ive now started to eat before i go , and just have a coffee when there, i had lost a couple of pounds, but with going backwards a bit , ive now only lost half a pound , but we have PLENTY OF DAYS ,,,,,,,we can do this easy , before march 27th , i didnt want to come on here and be doom and gloom as thats not fair to all the others. but hopefully no more funerals for a while ,and i can get back to some sort of normality, LL you are right about the song , "Pick yourself up "
Done a LOT of house de cluttering and everywhere looks nice . sorted out my favourite jewellery , and had a lovely day out with a new friend yesterday , We ended up in a pretty tea shop , but did lots of walking beforehand and i ate healthy even though i was surrounded by cakes , so im winning ,
I havent read all the posts yet , but see Incontinence is a topic , when i first said my goals , pelvic floor was one of them , and im on it ,,,,,,,,,,,,0 -
Your post does sound upbeat moll and I think your DDs philosophy is an excellent one.:D
Fast food outlets, tea rooms and coffee shops all seem to serve the food of the devil! I try to have an Americano with hot milk or tea as they are the healthiest options. Some of the milky coffees are full of calories. If I'm choosing a venue I try to go for somewhere that does a jacket potato or a salad. Even then the salads are sometimes covered in oily dressing. It's a minefield.
I've managed to get back to my book this afternoon as it's been neglected this week. I'm about half way through and have promised myself I'll do better this week.0 -
Welcome back Moll. Don't stay away, we all have doom and gloom days but we take it in turns, no good all being doom and gloom at the same time but we can support each other.
My GC love KFC and McD, I usually have one of their salads/rice boxes and a cuppa and it isn't to unhealthy. Well that's what I tell myself anyway.
I've made an appointment for my eye test, I haven't had one for nearly 2 and a half years and I know they are getting worse and when you combine strained eyes with my dry eyes it is not fab so it has to go. The flax seed is helping with the dryness so I hope with new glasses things will improve.
I have some news about my hair. If you missed it/forgot it I got some expensive Philip Kingsley products from my DD at Christmas, so just over 4 weeks ago. Well I've been good and used them and when I washed my hair today I suddenly realised the hair line was looking a bit more solid if you know what I mean. Closer inspection showed some new little hairs! I've tried examining my parting but it is harder to tell but I think the same thing is happening. I knew my hair was getting a bit thinner, not drastic but the start of a slippery slope particularly for someone with fine hair so I am thrilled with the result. I did worry about the cost of the stuff but I will buy more. It is supposed to last 6 weeks but I reckon it will last me longer than that, probably more like 10 to 12. I might just buy the treatment and not the plumping spray as if it really is working I won't need the plumping spray but it goes along way on my hair anyway. So that is my fab news. Unfortunately DH is having a bad day, the pain was making him scream earlier, he is well dosed up on morphine at the moment and sleeping so I am hoping that will help him and it will be more bearable when he wakes up. We need to keep him mobile to walk DD down the aisle, it would break him if he can't do that.0 -
Thanks Humpty . xx It sounds like the hair stuff is definitely doing good , Sorry about your DH, hope hes better0
