  • I just saw that Superdrug has a better than half price sale on at the moment. I am going to stock up with hydrating products.:T

Wallis sent me an email saying up to 30% off at the moment too if anyone is interested.

[Wednesday a quick g0ogle search suggests that Gillian is a ‘spring’ in terms of colour analysis. If you do a search, you will see what colours best suit someone with that colouring and may be inspired.

Yes, I will look on Kettlewell and Pinterest. Maybe I am Spring now.

I think I was Winter when I did the Kettlewell test but my hair has lightened since then. I had to walk outside a lot to get daylight when I had fibromyalgia and it has bleached my hair!:p

BTW the way, my husband started using the Ordinary cream as I have been using the B hydrating one and he really thinks it is good. He was using the men's Bulldog cream before but he thinks the Ordinary one is much better.:)

    Hello Ladies,

Unfortunately my cough and sore throat not improving and now I have a very bad stomach ache as well. :(

My older son decided to change his plan to collect all of the presents for me until next week Saturday. :( This has had a knock on effect on what I can get done this week and my younger son has to delay coming home for the Christmas and New Year break from university for a week. :( This is because I have the other presents and Christmas food items stored in his empty bedroom at the moment which I cannot sort until the space taken up by all of the birthday and Christmas presents becomes available to me again.
  • Oh no, I did my Kettlewell colour test quiz again today and now it is saying I am an Autumn and not Winter. I don't really like those earthy types of colours for some reason.:p

Gillian Anderson was one of the celebs they pictured that was an Autumn too, weirdly enough.:rotfl:

I had a (vomiting:eek:) reaction to two different cough medicines twice when I had colds recently.

That is a shame about your older son.:(xxx

Wednesday I first did the colour match thing about 20 or so years ago and carried the little swatch wallet in my handbag until it almost fell apart. I was tested with the pieces of fabric held up to my face and was told I was "winter" - saved me so many expensive mistakes from then on. Last twice I have done the Kettlewell match I have come out as Spring, I may save up and have a face to face match done.

Great news about the Superdrug promotion.

Just a note to say the ' Season' colours should be complimenting your skin tone, not your hair colour to get the best effect. I was also 'winter' and still am but there were/are colours in my swatch that suit me better as I've got older, still primary colours but a bit more muted. HTH

  • I have got three deliveries coming today. I have had to call the council this morning and then call my GP to book a smear test for next January. I hate having that done! Oh well, it's important to get checked. I'm booking a groceries delivery as well.

I want to go through my new diary and write all the events for next year. Seems so strange that it is going to be 2020, it sounds so futuristic!:rotfl:

I need to call the DWP and then HMRC this week. I can't be bothered to do it today as well.

On the fabbing front I'm going to do a hair treatment later. I have lots of various hair oils that I never use so I'm going to put some oil on and put a warm hand towel wrapped around my hair.:)

I think I will use my foot spa later tonight and I need to redo my nail polish too.

It's confusing when you get different results. I actually really like the Winter colours much more than Autumn! I read that Autumns are meant to stay away from blue unless it's green-blue. I'm sure that can't be me. Half my wardrobe is blue.:D

I know that blue, green and red suit me as I have had compliments when I wear those colours. I'm not sure why I wear so much black everyday. *Sits here wearing black head to toe*:p

  • Oh yes, as well as the Superdrug hydrating products I ordered a couple of tops from Joe Brown as well as a pencil skirt, a shirt and a dress from Wallis in the sale. I got an extra 15% off from Wallis as well as they sent me a discount code.

I really need to set a budget for next year.:o:D

I really need to set a budget for next year.:o:D

It's too easy to spend when you get on a roll with online shopping. You have had some bargains though.:)

I spent some time yesterday making felt flowers to decorate the padded hangers as token gifts for a couple of friends we're having lunch with on Thursday. They look really good and I've made some more for myself too. I've been through my wardrobe today and binned the last remaining plastic hangers. I did notice that a couple of my formal jackets were looking a bit dusty on the shoulders. I'll have to think of a way of protecting them. Perhaps carrier bags?

The only plastic hangers I have now are those that hold skirts. I don't think I've seen those to buy anywhere.

I've also got my friends a small Christmas cactus each. They were only about £1.60 in Lidl and they're full of buds so I bought myself one as well. :xmassmile

How's the decorating going LL? :)

Our plumber was round earlier as there's still some outside paintwork to be done from when they moved pipes. Unfortunately he picked the wrong day as it's tipping down here.:(

We got a reduced annual membership for English Heritage online this week. Well use it for Osborne House and then visit as much as we can during the year to take full advantage of it. I think you're a member chanie? Are there any must see properties you'd recommend?

Dancing tonight but I have to go to a meeting beforehand. This means layers as it can get hot dancing so big jumpers won't be suitable. Probably a skirt, opaque tights and a cardigan.

Last night was my art group but I didn't go. They had some Dickens readings which would have been fine but also a magician which isn't my cup of tea at all.:(

    Hope everyone's coping.;)

    Good afternoon lovely ladies

Maman.....fire surround done, it looks fab even if I do say so myself. I still need to paint the hearth tiles but tile paint needs about 2 weeks to "Cure" so I'll leave that till after Christmas. I'll just camouflage it with Christmas greenery, cones and candles etc for now.

Decorator coming tomorrow. He is giving me as long as I want till a week on Friday so I'm getting him to finish the bedroom, and then do the lounge, and hall. Then a break and then the kitchen in the new year. Wahoo.

Re the dusty coats. If you don't want to go the the expense of proper breathable full length dress/coat protectors you can buy shoulder "cap covers". Places like dunhelm. I have used bin liners in the past but you have to punch a few holes in because the plastic doesn't let the fabric breathe.

Ikea and dunhelm seem to be the cheapest for proper good quality clothing protectors. I tried some cheaper ones from Wilkos but the zips seem to break easily.

    Chucking it down here too.

Oh well lunch break over, back to it.

Thanks for the reminder about the protectors. I have some full length IKEA ones for my evening dresses. The jackets are the short ones I've worn for business meetings. It's only the shoulders/collars that seem to be dusty so I'll either go for short covers or look out those shoulder things. I was in Dunelm only yesterday but I'm sure I'll go again. It's not urgent. :)
