    Hello Ladies,

Yesterday I went to Streatham Odeon to watch Harriet and Blue Story. I bought the tickets with my Odeon Limitless card :D

    ODEON says...
Based on the thrilling and inspirational life of an iconic American freedom fighter, 'Harriet' tells the extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman's escape from slavery and transformation into one of America's greatest heroes. Her courage, ingenuity, and tenacity freed hundreds of slaves and changed the course of history. :D

I was absolutely rivetted by the unfolding story of the former slave Harriet Tubman. I would give this film 10/10 :D:T

Blue Story is a hard hitting crime drama about 2 friends who become rivals in a vicious London gangland war. As this film had generated so much controversy, I wanted to know what all of the fuss was about. I felt that the film was geared to the teenage market, so I would give this film 7/10 :)

LL, If I had the space, I would have my clothes in the 2 80 litre storage boxes on a 4th full length clothes rail, but it would be impossible to squeeze another rail into any of the 3 bedrooms in my home. ;)

Right now, I have no idea what the final tally is going to be with regards to just how large my 'wardrobe' of clothes is, but already, I know that I do not need or want any more clothing. I will not be buying any new handbags, shoes, sandals, boots or jewellery either as I also own far too many already.

I have tv programmes and films recorded that I am trying to find time to watch. I also need to find time to read my books and the free newspapers I am always picking up. I just bought myself a subscription to Red magazine as well. :D

    69 tops! Wow! That's amazing sugarbaby.:D

I like your idea of an inventory as I genuinely forget sometimes that I have some items so they never get worn. I remembered yesterday that my DGD bought me a lovely black top a while back. It's identical to the one she wore for her graduation which I admired. I must try and give it an airing soon.

Do you wear all your clothes? I must admit I seem to lock onto a few favourite outfits. Obviously there are certain bits of occasion wear that will only be worn occasionally (obviously:o) but I'm not sure about other things. Maybe I need to look afresh at my wardrobe and decide whether to keep things that I rarely, if ever, wear.

That Harriet film sounds good. I love your reviews as even if I don't manage to get to the cinema, they'll come round on television sooner or later. I record programmes too, often daytime programmes to watch later in the evening.

That's excellent news about the decorator LL and you're right that the Christmas decs will be a temporary fix until you can plan the room as you want it. I remember years ago we were having a fireplace fitted one December and there was a problem with the tiles so we ended up with a chimney breast that was bare plaster over Christmas. I just smothered it with Christmas cards and it looked fine.:)

I won't be putting up my decorations until much later in the month but I did get out my two perpetual Advent calendars. At the same time I found my Christmas gloves. I bought them in Sainsbury's last year, they're a bit like finger puppets and a bit of fun. I wore them last night to Gin & Jingle bells and someone told me how much they liked them. I'll be wearing them a lot more this month. :xmassmile
  • ^ That silly Am*zon review cracked me up too.:rotfl:

I am a bit of a bad mood after going out the other night as I argued with the guy I met. What annoys me more is that he had totally the wrong information and I was correct in what I was saying. I found the correct info on the MSE forum a few years ago, weirdly enough.

Anyway, I did get a young Essex guy chatting me up the other night when my male friend went to the bar, lol. So it wasn't all bad.:rotfl:

My skin on my face is still dry. Nothing seems to be working. Grr.:(

I was shocked to discover that there are actually 69 tops, 3 jackets and 10 cardigans and jumpers on that rail.

    69 tops! I think I have about 15 at the most.:rotfl:

Wednesday is it possible that your skin is dehydrated instead of/as well as dry?

Perhaps have a read of this cheat sheet by my skin care guru if you have a moment.

I am 70 and spent lots of time outdoors, also lost more than 2 stone of weight due to illness (9st 4 to 7st to begin with, put 1 stone back on now I am diagnosed and treated), all this time my skin has stayed plump and bouncy, which I attribute to hydration.

I use a hydrating toner spritzed on after cleansing, Body Shop/Superdrug have less expensive options, next is a serum, and then hyaluronic Acid followed by moisturiser and regularly receive compliments on my skin. Good, but reasonably priced options are Garden of Wisdom (GOW) from Victoria Health and Inkey Boots, Look Fantastic etc. The runnier the product the better as it absorbs better and quicker and the thicker one can feel really sticky Indeed Labs Hydraluron (pea sized amount so lasts ages) from Boots and other places is a little more expensive, but on special offer ATM.

    Hello Ladies,

I decided to tackle the 80 litre plastic storage box of my clothing in my bedroom today. I took all of the clothes out and neatly piled them on my bed. Then I washed and dried the inside and outside of the box. Then I photographed, refolded each item and put them back into the box. :D

My photographic inventory now shows that I have documented another 2 jumpers, 6 cardigans, 12 skirts, 29 tops and 10 swimming costumes.

The running total is now 98 tops, 4 jumpers, 3 jackets, 15 cardigans, 12 skirts and 10 swimming costumes.

I will be tackling the clothes on the full length clothes rail in my bedroom next.

That is interesting, thanks. It feels like the moisturisers are being pushed around on the surface of my skin my face and not being absorbed.

I am trying a very rich cream I bought to try and get rid of a patch of eczema I have on my leg. It did work quite well so hopefully i will see what my skin is like tomorrow.

I am going out tomorrow and I will go to The Body Shop and look for a hydrating toner.:)

  • I was going to go out to Stratford shopping tomorrow but I am going to Romford instead as I know Romford better.

They have charity shops, an Ernest Jones, The Body Shop and Lush there. I am finally going to get my engagement ring resized.

I am going to drop off my donation bag and look for some tops/shirts to dye in the chazzers.

If I don't find anything I will get the bus round to Hornchurch as they have some good charity shops on the high street there too.

I decided to copy Sugarbaby and see what I have in my wardrobe. :D

5 coats/jackets. One bright blue coat, one black coat, a biker jacket and a denim jacket. One black poncho that is so warm. I usually only use it when it snows to wear over jumpers.

    2 long waterfall cardigans.

4 shorter cardigans, hot pink, bright blue, navy and black.

    6 jumpers.

5 long sleeved tops, two are thermal.

    2 short sleeved t-shirts.

    7 vest tops.

3 long dresses, two are maxi (black and grey) and one is a black wrap dress. I don't think I have ever worn the wrap dress.:o

5 short dresses, three are navy!:p One black shift dress and one black body con dress.

    3 black short skirts.

    4 pairs of black leggings.

I had more than I thought considering it is quite a capsule wardrobe!

Thanks for the moisturising advice Maddie. :)

I think it's brilliant the way we share tips on this thread. To throw in my tuppence worth:

First, I think it's worth making sure we get plenty of fluids to combat dehydration. It's too easy in the colder months of the year to cut down on our water intake but there are plenty of drinks that don't involve cold water. Personal favourites are hot Ribena or hot water with lemon or lime. I just squeeze in some juice for flavour rather than buy whole fruit. :)

I agree that it's probably a mixture of central heating and cold winds that can make our skin feel dry at this time of the year. Last week because I was in a hurry to get down to my hotel breakfast I used my Clarins serum under my moisturiser and eye cream. Now I'm at home and not rushing out in the morning I've been using the flaxseed oil. It's far more mse:money: and I find it works well. Half a capsule is enough for me and then later in the morning (after about 30 minutes +) I put on my moisturiser and eye cream. Another thing I've been doing is to use moisturiser with my foundation to effectively turn it into tinted moisturiser. I'm using a foundation that I find a bit heavy/opaque as I like a more dewy look. I mix a bit of the foundation with a small blob of cream in the palm of my hand and then apply with my foundation brush. It all helps. I'm pleased with my skin.:)

I know you wanted to give your bedroom a deep clean/declutter sugarbaby but how many of those 98 tops:eek: do you get round to wearing/plan to wear? Is that why you did the inventory?:)

It's another glorious day here. I feel I haven't taken proper advantage so I really hope it holds until tomorrow when I plan to go on my one hour 'health' walk. What with being away and other things I've missed that for the last couple of weeks.

Football again tonight so I'll need to wrap up really well as the temperature really drops when the sun goes in. On Saturday, the only thing that was a bit cold was my knees as my quilted coat wasn't quite long enough when sitting down. I might take a big scarf to use as a lap blanket! If it's good enough for Her Majesty, it's good enough for me.:D

I began working on revamping my wardrobe after having my children. I know what suits me and I focus on buying items in a broad autumn palette, so items compliment each other. It means I can wear most of my wardrobe on a regular basis, as I buy items to suit my lifestyle.

I have been using my The Ordinary skincare regime for a few weeks now and have noticed an improvement with my skin. I will need to tweak my routine, but I’m pleased with it so far.

    Maman
, I am not even half way through my photographic clothes inventory. I still have the 3 full length rails to do, the other 80 litre plastic storage box and the holdall of clothes. It is a much bigger job than I had anticipated so I will not finish until sometime in the New Year.

I most probably only wear about half of those tops at the moment, some are still brand new with the tags on. :) I need to lose weight to wear every single top, skirt, dress, jumper and cardigan I own. The tops, cardigans, jumpers dresses, coats and jackets are all size 14 and all of the skirts I own are size 16. :D

But all size 14's and 16's are not a uniform size, so I can not wear all of the clothes I own at the moment, but I still have loads of items that do fit me.

I am already exhausted from doing what I have already achieved with regards to my clothes inventory but I am making getting ready for Christmas my priority. I have started to wrap Christmas presents today. Which is also exhausting for me. I am also wrapping presents for my older daughter and my older son's 37th and 38th birthdays on the 10th and 14th of December.

December is always a very busy month for me. I am trying to pace myself, so I have had a relaxing evening at home yesterday and today rather than going to Karaoke. :)
