  • Hope you have a good time Maman.

I quickly skim read that Gok Wan book I bought as I'm going to donate it to a charity shop. I made a few notes on a piece of paper of some items I might get for my wardrobe to flatter curvy, top heavy women.:)

I did buy a rock/Goth black top and some black patterned tights to wear to the concert this week after reading the book.:rotfl:

I am setting myself a challenge not to buy any food this week to save money. We have lots of food at home to use up.

I want to save up enough so we could move house if we wanted. We keep going back and forth over whether to move but we won't have any choice if we don't save up all the moving costs!

I am going to do a face pack tonight, shave my legs and have a bubble bath. I am going to use that cocoa butter body lotion afterwards.:)

  • Maman I hope you have a great time in Amsterdam

I went to Streatham Odeon to see the film Le Mans 66 today and I absolutely found it so thrilling, exciting and moving which I was not expecting of a film about racing driving. The film is about more than racing driving though, it is also about friendship. I would give this film 9.5/10 :D

I went to The Old Vic to watch A Christmas Carol in the evening and it is a great production of a popular Dickens story. The stage has been designed to be a kind of cross shape with the audience surrounding the stage. There are traditional carols and bell ringing and so many lanterns which create a very inviting atmosphere and I loved it all. :D There are some very talented musicians, singers and actors (both male and female) who kept the audience very entertained throughout both acts of this play. :D I had such a good time, that I am glad that I had the foresight to buy another special price ticket for Thursday evening in advance, so I will have the immense pleasure of enjoying this play again on Thursday. I also got a free mince pie which was warm and tasted really good. :D:j

Last night I looked in my wardrobe.....:(.

To the front of the wardrobe, all I could see was brown and grey. What on Earth was that about.

All the "new to me" clothing I had bought from the charity shops in the early autumn were an awful dull as ditchwater, mid grey or mid brown. Why. I never never wear brown, and grey doesn't nothing for me either. I can only assume at the time they reflected my mood, that unbeknownst to me I was feeling a tad depressed.

I have been a bit weepy at times and a bit "widowy" but I had no idea i was feeling that bad.

I knew I was lacking in energy and my usual joire de vie but this was on another scale. I'm no psychologist but I knew these colour choices were not just a reflection of my mood when I bought them but, if I were to continue to wear them, they would bring me down even more.

So I bagged the lot and they are now sitting in my car. :rotfl:

Luckily they were all charity shop purchases in the first place so we are not talking much money here.

Anyway I have bought a lovely deep turquoise blue sweater dress with my favourite cowl neck today from ASDA, just £16.

    Much more me.:D

From now on it's colour all the way......

SUgarbaby.....I love mince pies but they give me gyp....I have to really ration myself. Same with Christmas pudding......a couple of teaspoons and that's my limit.

Why is that so much of the food I enjoy is off limits.....:rotfl:
  • I have been busy today decluttering, cleaning and organising. I had a bad sleep last night so I had a strong cup of tea and a natural energy drink this morning. I gave up caffeine earlier this year so I'm feeling really wired and energetic as a result.

I decided to put up my Christmas tree today. I know it is very early but I got these nice LED lights delivered and I just felt like being festive.

I can't wait to decorate it when the lights arrive. I recorded a Christmas film the other day so I will watch it while I decorate.

    That sounded really lovely.:)

    I like cowl necks too.:A

I thought the same thing the other day as almost everything in my wardrobe is navy or black. I have had to get rid of some things that were too big or too small and it seemed like I drained my whole wardrobe of colour!

I am going to wear my burgundy bag, paint my nails red and add a black sparkly scarf to add some oomph to my black outfit when I go out Friday night.

Black or navy is really nice though on the right person, always elegant. Unfortunately on me they me look like a corpse. I have just one navy dress, for funerals when sombre colours are required. (Like my aunts funeral the other week).

But those dingy mid browns and greys were just sludgy non colours.

    What was I thinking. :rotfl:

My sister has requested we meet up for afternoon tea, just she and I. She sent me a note saying how much she missed me.....I have said "yes". (My new rule remember, to say yes.:rotfl:).

As we approach the end of 2019 I have already started thinking about my goals for 2020. I want it to be a corker. :rotfl:
  • Hello Ladies,

Yesterday I went to Leilani restaurant & Lounge bar to have a 2 course Caribbean meal and cocktail with my son, then I stayed at the same venue for Karaoke. :D

I had a Groupon for the meal with cocktails which cost me £23 which saved me £44.80 on the menu prices. :D My younger son came with me for the meal, but he did not stay for Karaoke. :D

I had a starter of saltfish fritters with salad leaves and tartare sauce and a main of jerk chicken, rice & peas and salad with a Disaronno gladiator. :D My son had a starter of Suya beef with rocket & red onion and a main of steak burger with hand cut twice fried chips and a tequila sunrise. :D We found both courses of our meals and our cocktails really delicious. :D

I had a great time at Karaoke. I sang 4 songs: I'll never fall in love again by Tom Jones, It's now or never by Elvis, Dream lover by Bobby Darin and All Around the World by Lisa Stansfield. There were plenty of other singers of varied singing talent so it was a fun night out for me. :D

I am taking my younger daughter to Chiquito in Leicester Square for lunch today as I have a Groupon for Chiquito restaurants and then this evening I will be going to Karaoke in Herne Hill. :D
  • Wednesday and LL,

There was a time in my life only a few years ago Wednesday that like you almost every piece of clothing that I owned was either black or blue and if I wanted to add colour to my wardrobe, I bought a few items in chocolate brown. ;) Now, I have clothing in lots of bright colours having discovered that all of the colours of the rainbow suit me. :j It most probably took me about 2 years or more to transform my whole wardrobe of clothing. :D

LL I am lucky that I am one of the fortunate women that look elegant wearing black and navy clothing. :D

I am going to do an inventory of all of my clothing before the end of this year as I really need to acknowledge that I have no reason to buy any more items of clothing, shoes, handbags or accessories.

Just a quick heads up, Sainsbury's has it's 25% off Tu clothing again.
    I treated myself ......;)

SUgarbaby...sometimes it's nice to give into wants though isn't it. I don't need any clothes either but I've bought another sweater dress today. Deep rich plum colour, again a cowl neck so nice and cosy for winter but without that strangled feeling I sometimes get with polo or turtle necks.

The icing on the cake....it's a size 10.:T:T

Well done LL, a size 10 is amazing,
The Sainsburys 25% is the last one before Christmas
