I didn't have acupuncture today as I find it too painful. I got another batch of herbs for the week. I have to say I didn't notice any difference in how I feel taking the herbs last week. Hopefully they are doing something. I told her that I have had Neuro Linguistic Programming for fibromyalgia which got rid of the pains in my body but I still have the tiredness.

One of the symptoms for an underactive thyroid is fatigue so I'm not sure if that is the culprit and it's nothing to do with fibromyalgia!

Anyway, I have a GP appointment tomorrow and I will tell him about the NLP and what it did. I'm looking forward to being weighed for once as well, haha.

I treated myself to a Jaeger white linen shirt and a George dress from the chazzer. I'm tempted to dye them both red.:D

I also got that Superdrug hot cloth cleanser to try. Someone mentioned it on here.:A

:rotfl: I know what you mean about acupuncture. It's not the most pleasant of experiences but (marginally) better than a scale and polish at the dentist.

Now that really is my Waterloo.

Have you tried taking paracetamol about 30 minutes before your treatment. It might take the edge off.

(A couple of paracetamol also help take the edge off the discomfort of waxing)

That is a good idea. I do take ibuprofen before the hygienist as I find that very uncomfortable too!.:D

My DD has Hashimotos which is one cause of under active thyroid from what I understand. She went onto levothyroxine six months ago and says it was life changing, she is full of beans and 18 lbs lighter.

I have mentioned Hashimotos to my GP a few times. That condition is apparently very common with fibromyalgia patients. I will see what he says tomorrow and what the thyroid test comes back with in May.

Well done! It's weird how you can stay the same weight but notice the changes in your body isn't it? I've noticed that with me too.

I presume that part of it is that I am gaining muscle which is heavier than fat :rotfl:

The inch loss keeps me motivated to continue exercising every day no matter what else is going on with my body and my life ;)

On the stockpiling medication, that could be part of the problem. Not that I blame GPs or patients for doing it, of course, but it could be contributing to the shortages.:(

My DH has medication for high blood pressure and he's had problems. When he went to collect his last prescription it was unavailable. The GP prescribed something else and that was only partly dispensed so not enough available. This week he went back to the GP who left the surgery during the appointment, walked round to the pharmacy (next door) and checked that the 3rd choice was available before he wrote the prescription. That was very good of him but it shouldn't be happening. :(

A friend who works for the NHS was sent from her hospital to another in the Trust to take a delivery of epipens in her own car as they'd completely run out and were desperate.

    What a shambles.

I like that people on here are quoting my Japanese signature.

I am in a bit of a bad mood these last couple of weeks. The GP told me I may have pernicious anaemia and a thyroid problem. I am trying to get rid of fibromyalgia at the moment (the 6 month treatment ends next month) so being told I have extra health problems is not exactly great timing.:mad::mad:

I'm wondering if the thyroid issue is why I gained so much weight and why I have found it difficult to lose weight again.:(

I'm still only down by 4 pounds in 2 weeks.

One good thing on the fabbing front is that I changed my pyjamas over to some silky black bottoms and low neck black tees and they look quite good. If I do say so myself.:D I got rid of the old pyjamas as I took to heart what was said on here about what you wear at home.

Wednesday I was not able to respond at the time that you posted this, but having just read your mention of fatigue I have just trawled back to check. A major symptom of Pernicious Anaemia is fatigue, Healthy red blood cells are circular and have a concave centre, ours are convex and unable to carry enough oxygen. Sadly several other conditions cause fatigue too, as you mention U. A. thyroid, also I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and a rare immune deficiency which also have the same effect, it does make it very difficult for us and our medics to pinpoint what and where and to help us resolve and gain more energy. xx

I have my eyes out for a trench coat for Spring. I tried a beige one on in the chazzer today, it was labelled as a size 18 but I thought I would just see what it looked like anyway.

OMG, it looked awful on me.:rotfl:

I have a problem with jackets/coats. I bought a Per Una blazer the other day and it made me look 10 years older when it was on. I'm not sure if it is my shoulders or my bust but they often hang weirdly on me.:D

Oh really. I have to be checked for PA in May too. I will PM you if you don't mind.

  • Wednesday, it must be hard when they can't pinpoint what is going on. I suppose my DD was lucky that there was nothing else going on and it was clearly the thyroid. The frustrating thing was it took 2 years before they would put her on levothyroxine as they kept saying her reading was just within recommended levels but apparently in many other countries she would have started treatment 2 years earlier. It was hard watching her struggle when a simple tablet once a day would make such a difference. I can understand they have to have guidelines but when someone has all the symptoms and a borderline result you would think it would be worth giving the meds a try.

Good luck with your tests, whatever they decide on I hope they sort it out.
