Hello Ladies,
No actual weight loss for me this week, but 3.5 inches lost from different parts of my body. :j:D
So many more of my fixed waistband size 16 skirts now fit me and many more of my size 14 tops.
I still have a long way to go, but I am able to do even more fabbing than before, so I am doing well with my journey to a more healthy lifestyle and body0 -
Think I'm going to have to join you lot, in trying to lose some blubber, as am off to Goa in Nov :j My first proper holiday in ten years
Ooh fun!:)
I beat you. I haven't had a holiday since 2008.:(Scottish dancing, although I'm a Welsh woman living in England!:D I've done it on and off since I was a child and it's great fun and good exercise.
Ah, interesting.:Asugarbaby125 wrote: »Hello Ladies,

Well done! It's weird how you can stay the same weight but notice the changes in your body isn't it? I've noticed that with me too.0 -
but oh Dear God from the side I look like Max Wall for anyone who remembers him!![/QUOTE]
me too0 -
max wall.. :rotfl: could be worse, could be Bernard Manning.
Truly horrid day here. I was in a fair bit of pain earlier - think it was partly due to the sudden extreme change in the weather. Anyway I cranked up the heating, got under the heated throw on the sofa and I think I just "sweated it out". Had a nice sleep and now feel much better. Managed to give myself a facial.
Hopefully we won't get many more really cold days now. I don't mind the cold, but add the wind and rain as well........Cue Joint and muscle pain. I think it's the damp that gets to me.
Anyway I've booked a massage for next week. Been a bit remiss and haven't had one fir a while.
Off to bed now, acupuncture in the morning.
Well done on the inch loss SUgarbaby. Great stuff.0 -
Mixed emotions for me today . Its my eldest GD birthday , Shes a big 7 today, love every inch of her, but its also 3 years to the day that my Mum died , It was weird really , as Luna ( gd) was born april 4th at 05.19am and mum died 3 years later at the exact time , same day ,million to one chance of that happening i think , I was with her at the end , and she said "If anything should happen to me , you dont let it spoil that little girls birthday , its her special day ". so that day we still had to go ahead with her party, and make it special for her, I swear every year it seems harder. Anyway today weve just had a family tea party, and the "Proper" party is on sunday .....bowling , Im still sticking to healthy eating , although today i did go for the pizza , and chocolate cake > just the one "Event" though , straight back on it now . im determined to get in shape for summer.
LL ive decided to stick with SW but thankyou for the offer of sending the book , I think i prefer the foods on SW, and im used to it , but i did go and look at your new WW thread , and its great , and ill drop in from time to time to see how everyone is doing if thats ok ,
The weather has been so cold lately , but Spring is just around the corner , soon be nice and warm again ,
Im lucky on the fabbing front re my hair , as my DD is a trained hairdresser. and she will colour my hair in the evenings. She puts foils in and lately "Touch wood " the grey has held off with the highlights being in , and ive had quite a few good comments on how nice the colour is ( Its one she mixes up herself) and i like it . Shes recovering at the moment from a gall bladder operation , so im hoping my grey doesnt come thorough until shes fit enough to do it for me ,0 -
Good morning lovely ladies.
Well I have a new target. June 9th. My grandsons christening. 10 weeks to lose 10bs and up my game.
I am determined to be a "glamourous granny". :rotfl:
I have two beautiful dresses which I bought a while ago and haven't been able to get into......(shame on me). One is pale grey crepe and the other is a smokey lilac/grey lace. Either one will do nicely,
Moll.....I think WW and SW are pretty similar now, they both seem to focus on health and well being rather than just shedding weight iyswim. I don't think it really matters which way you go.
Anyone can lose weight by starving themselves, skipping meals and drinking those shake things but I often think they are just a short term fix. I think losing weight in a healthy fashion and being able to sustain that weight loss over the longer term is much more important, even if it takes a bit longer.
Maman is a lesson to us all. Steady weight loss and then maintaining her svelte figure for several years now.
That's what I'm aiming for.0 -
Good morning fabbers,
Not feeling too well the last couple of days, I want to do my hair colour but I’ve got raging earache so I’m scared to get in the shower.
I’m loving the dermaplaning, makes my skin so smooth and moisturiser sink in beautifully.
Now spring is here I’m looking for the holy grail of sandals, comfortable but not frumpy, slightly edgy but not ‘out there’ I can’t just live in flip flops as much as I’d love to. I’d go barefoot by choice (old hippy)0 -
Oh how exciting to have the christening to look forward to. It's really helpful to have something to focus on with weightloss LL. Having your mini goals is good but having a specific occasion is even better.:)
Thanks for the kind words. In August I will have been at my ideal weight for 8 years.:D I agree that eating a healthy, balanced diet is the way to go as it's sustainable. The problem with calorie controlled plans is that you could potentially just eat rubbish provided you don't eat too much of it!:rotfl:
I'm sure you'll do all you can to make DGD's birthday special moll. It must be of some comfort to know that it truly is what your mother wanted rather than just a trite phrase that people trot out.LuxuryWoman wrote: »Now spring is here I’m looking for the holy grail of sandals, comfortable but not frumpy, slightly edgy but not ‘out there’ I can’t just live in flip flops as much as I’d love to. I've compromised there and bought Fitflops luxurywoman. I don't like toe post sandals so I've chosen slides. I bought a cream pair a couple of years ago and liked them so much I bought a black pair as well.

These are mine on Amazon, cheaper because they're last year's design.

If you did want something a bit fancier for evening wear there are plenty of cheapie jewelled fit flops around.
I'll make myself up later but we've got football tonight (thanks to the great god Sky!:() so it'll be a case of dressing more for warmth than glamour. I'll need to check whether it'll be wet too. I plan to put off my usual shopping until tomorrow as I'm sure we have enough in to get by.:)0 -
Cold wet and miserable here. Tomorrow will bring the families coming down for the Easter holidays, I do hope it brightens up for them, it is so expensive entertaining children when the beach isn't the answer. I am going to do a big shop later as the supermarket will be mad tomorrow as all the self caterers will be shopping.
My eyes are a bit better but still sore and blood shot. I got my prescription today, new meds due to start tomorrow so it went down to the wire. I asked at the pharmacy and they were waiting for one med to come in. I've been worried about meds and brexit and Newsnight a couple of nights ago didn't reassure me. For anyone who missed it despite Govt saying meds have been stockpiled there are some meds that they haven't been able to get enough of and it is being kept secret, a senior doctor was on the programme to whistleblow, he was worried about his patients with epilepsy as apparently epilepsy meds are affected. The shortages have already started and he said his colleagues in Europe weren't reporting similar problems. Scary stuff.0 -
Hello again everyone.....
Thankfully a bit warmer here today. Yesterday was just dreadful, and I felt really low, "widows stuff". It happens from time to time but thankfully I am my old cheerful self once again.
Acupuncture this morning so need to rest my knee now. When I took my coat off the doctor beamed and said "you've lost weight". Very gratifying. :rotfl:
I managed to run a few errands. Bought another tree. So hopefully that's enough big trees now. I will have planted a row of 6 in all. Once they have grown and spread they will give me plenty of privacy. They will look tons better than that awful conifer hedge.
I have also planted a load of shrubs, both in the front and rear gardens. I'm going to let them grow for a while and then will probably add a few more in the autumn, but for now I will adopt a wait and see policy. I am pleased to say I have managed to come in well under budget. Good job really with the bathroom overspend..
(My plumber asked if I could let one of his customers see it because she was struggling to visualise what to do with hers. She was blown away. I must say I love it, even if it did cost me an arm and a leg).
Popped into a chazzer and picked up a little silver shrug, perfect as a cover up with skimpy tops or spaghetti strap dresses. Handy for cruises. :rotfl:
My faux suede coat has arrived. Just what I hoped for. It's gorgeous, so soft and luxurious, far nicer than I expected. I am hopeless at doing pictures but it is very similar to the one Rene Rousso wore in the Thomas Crown Affair. I love the clothes she wears in that film. Elegant, restrained and yet sexy.
That's what I'm aiming for once I get my figure back......:rotfl:
LW. Sorry to hear about your earache.....hope it gets better soon. I've had a bit of a throat/ear/swollen gland thing but thankfully it's not been too bad. I think these things just do the rounds. My grandson had it a couple of weeks ago, and generously passed it on to me.
Moll.....those anniversaries are horrible aren't they. But you know you have your mums blessing to make sure you celebrate your granddaughters birthday.
The dead are aways with us, in our hearts and in their inherited genes. I look at my grandson and occasionally catch glimpses of my husband. I agree it's hard though. I know it will be difficult at the christening without him. But trite as it sounds, life has to go on.
I know he would have wanted us to live, love and laugh. And that's what I try to do.0
