Just popping in to say 'hi' :)

Just the usual fabbing here, though it's new month coming and so time to put 1 or 2 new things into place. So I'll have a think over the weekend about what I'm adding to my life this month :)

Wednesdaycould I please have the link for the daily makeup tutorial?

I like the sound of the flax seed oil. What other suppliments etc do people take and find helpful?.

I just started taking vitamin D this winter and I haven't as low as I often do during the darker months.

    hi
Vitamin d is so important. A friend at work was taken into hospital very poorly last year and after all the tests they discovered it was a severe vitamin d deficiency which made her thnk more about her diet

LL After the indulgence of a week in London ( Which i enjoyed for my birthday ) i think ive lost about 7lbs this month . so i need to loose 1 stone , 7lbs before your birthday which i think is easily dooable if i carry on as i am . On the fabbing front , i found some pretty underwear in London , didnt have it in stock so have ordered it on line , i use body lotion every day , always have since my teens , and even though ive got too much body these days , its in good nick , lol . face creams ive never used untill this last year or so , but every day now i moisturise. and you can definitely see a difference on the days i dont do it . i had a chiropodist visit before i went away , but really need to remember to cream my feet , Thats one area i do tend to neglect, and its important . Most of my weight is around my stomach , and i mostly wear jeans these days , so am trying to get back into my skirts for the Summer. Looks like being a nice sunny day here today .

    Good morning lovely ladies.

And another gorgeous day. Going to be around 16, wahoo. :j.

Going to get cracking this morning and do my tip run, before the tip gets busy, then B&Q and Sainsbury's. Then just enjoy the sun.....

Moll.....7lbs off this month is great. Well done. It's a good 3 months till my birthday. We can do it. :D

I think we are all doing ok. A steady 1 to 2lb a week and we will all get there. We just have to stay focussed and keep our eye on the prize. Decide on our goals and keep going till we reach them.

Last night I got sidetracked looking at last minute cruises. This morning my cruise buddy from the amazon trip sent me links for the same cruises.

I am not going to succumb.....

I am committed to losing weight, getting fitter, getting stuck into the house and garden. I also want to be around to help look after my grandson over the summer.

Dil starts work in May, and my GS starts nursery in September. Her parents will be here over the summer but I will be helping out too. It will be fun. So I'm too busy for cruises. :rotfl:

I have to say I am looking forward to buying some nice new underwear when I've lost a bit more weight. I might even make some. I have some beautiful silk fabric which would make a lovely kimono.

Right time to get cracking. Have a great day.

    Hello Ladies,

I have had a very quiet week so far, but I really needed to get lots of rest and recharge my energy levels.

It has given me more time for reading and as this is my greatest pleasure, I have enjoyed my week so far. :D

I had to have my medical assessment for my Personal Independence Payment application yesterday. I should have a decision from the DWP within 4 weeks. ;)

I am continuing with my Level 3 exercises every day which is far more strenuous than Level 2. :D

Even though my weight is barely moving, my body shape continues to change for the better, so I am staying motivated. :D

Tomorrow is going to be a Red Letter day for me as my 4 adult children and some of my grandchildren are going to visit me to celebrate Mother's Day, as due to work commitments my older son could not make it on Sunday. I am so looking forward to it. I have bought presents for my older daughter as well as she is a Mother. :j:D
  • Apparently, it is the flax seed oil making my hair grow! I looked and I have been taking a capsule a day for nearly 6 months as I had to buy a new bottle.

My hair always got to a certain length and then stopped but the flax is making is grow so fast. I'm going to get my husband to take it too as his hair has thinned since his cancer treatment.

I have my acupuncture appointment tomorrow. I hope it doesn't hurt as much as last time!

Thanks. :)Looks like a lovely walk.

    :T

Wow, shame it was too small.

Gok Wan was saying that Diane Von Furstenberg do the best wrap around dresses.

The flax seed capsules are great. They have helped with my eyes and I think my hair and nails are growing faster/better since I've been using them although my nails still aren't great. I think my skin has improved as well, hard to explain but it looks stronger/healthier and some laughter lines (hate crow's feet sounds so negative) have almost disappeared.

I did go to work yesterday for about 4 hrs and then did some stuff online for them. I never look forward to it but strangely it does make me feel better afterwards. Sometimes I think retiring was a mistake, I should probably have gone part time and carried on. Doing some consultancy is probably a good compromise now.

Misty miserable start to the day here but as we are near the coast we do get that and it can disappear quite quickly so we will see how it goes.

I think I am going to bite the bullet and defrost the freezer, told husband that we are having sprouts, garlic bread, one piece of cod, some onions, some peppers and icecream for dinner. That will clear the freezer but he didn't seem to fancy it much. I think I have to bite the bullet and accept some of it might be wasted but I could use some and wrap the rest up and put it in the fridge and hope it does thaw out. We will see.

I can't remember the name of the woman, she was American. I just typed in over 40 make-up and 10 minutes on YouTube so you would probably be able to find it, or one like it.:)

I take a vitamin D spray, B12 tablets (because I'm vegan) flax seed capsule, iron, calcium, magnesium and lysine.

Lysine stops you getting cold sores.

Yes, my hair is growing at a rapid rate but my nails aren't good either. They keep breaking recently.

Thanks for the reminder. I liked lantanna's original suggestion of gradually adding something new in over time.

Putting the cream on my toenails is definitely going to be one of my April targets (thanks moll:)) . I'm generally quite pleased with my beauty fabbing routines. I'll do a quick audit but I think almost all of the good habits I've developed on here over time I've stuck to.:D

Interesting you say maybe you shouldn't have retired when you did humpty. I don't miss work at all but I do miss the structure and the mental stimulation. I'm keeping up my reading as part of that. Yesterday I had an interesting half hour catching up on a BBC radio programme called Moving Pictures. Briefly, you look at a painting on screen (yesterday was a Bruegel) and the sound track helps you to learn about it. I really enjoyed that and will do more both with the programme and with my own books. I also need to talk to DH about stuff that needs doing around the house:(. I'm happy to 'project manage' and we'll use trades to do it but I need his agreement and some support with the trades. Will think on about any othr targets.

I take either flaxseed or cod liver oil (using up) and also glucosamine. I do it mainly because I'm conscious that my joints are getting a lot of wear with my dancing so trying to protect them. So far, so good although I'm not sure how much is psychological (belt and braces IYSWIM) because I also have a very healthy diet in terms of vegetables and lean protein.

Hope the outcome of your medical is supportive sugarbaby. Enjoy your day with your family. I'm meeting DD1 later this afternoon and we're going together to get our nails done and then go for a coffee. She's had a really hard week at work so I think she wants to unwind but I'm guessing that the nails might be a Mothers' Day gift too. DD2 has sent a card and will probably call me on Sunday. As she doesn't drive and lives a distance away I rarely see her on occasions as her MIL lives near her and is very needy. Sorry to whinge but it does sadden me a bit. I like to be seen as capable and independent but it has it's downsides. :(

It's a glorious day here too. I plan to get myself fabbed up and then do my food shop before meeting DD1. :)

I did give him the option of throwing out the last bits and him taking me out for a meal. I haven't had a positive response yet. I'm hoping the threat of garlic bread and icecream might convince him;)

I agree with you about the retiring thing, I think it is the structure I miss and also the feeling of weekends and holidays being special. I realise that my husband's health issue is a big part of this as we just don't have the opportunity to make the most of retirement.

I will probably see one of my 4 on Sunday. Both my sons have in laws who seem to feel they take priority and there is alot of "keeping the peace" my one DIL will say she finds her mum difficult and would rather come to us but she can't cope with the pressure. So yes capable, independent and non demanding comes at a price but I think it is better to have a loving phone call than have them with us and them secretly resenting it. One of mine is working so it will just leave one but I will probably have the two older GC popping in as well so I know I am lucky. I did have an early "Mother's Day weekend" last weekend so that was nice.
