Im home did you miss me , Its my birthday tomorrow , and the big weigh in , which i KNOW i will have failed miserably as i ate so much bad foods while i was in London , Mostly to save on cost , i feel so sorry for you who live there , prices are HIGH , compared to where i live, but it hasnt detered me from my ultimate goal of losing 2 stone by June , onwards and upwards , Havent had time to read back what everyone has been doing yet . x xx x hope all is well
Happy Birthday Moll :bdaycake: have a lovely day and try not to worry about not making your target. It happens. It's hard when you are away from home and life has a habit of throwing curved balls and derailing our plans.
Enjoy your birthday celebrations and then start again when you are ready.
Re our little bet....I am 2lb short of making my target.. I'm very happy with that. I'm on my way and making steady progress.
Next interim goal is my birthday, 6th July. I would like to lose 1st2lbs by then. Fingers crossed.
Bit of a fibro flare up at the moment, so going to take it relatively easy for a few days.0 -
Happy birthday Moll - enjoy your special day.
Humpty - what a PITA - I'd be spitting feathers. Do post a picture when you've finished it.
Off to the boat today to clean the decks - that's not going to do my nails any good either lol! When I get back if it's not too late I'll be doing a bit of gardening..........Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I have spoiled myself and bought two new maxi dresses from Debenhams and some new make-up. One of the dresses is cobalt blue and the other is navy.Anyway , as recommended by WEDNESDAY , I've been researching the Gupta programme, and am going to give it a go.Have realised, I've literally been in fight or flight mode for years , n it's really taken a toll on my health
Well done! I wish someone had told me that there was such an easy solution to fibromyalgia when I had been diagnosed two years ago.
I'm still furious at my idiot doctors and the amount of inaccurate sh*t that is online about the condition!
Dr Gupta says I must forgive them and not get angry. Lol. It's hard though.:rotfl:Im home did you miss me , Its my birthday tomorrow , and the big weigh in , which i KNOW i will have failed miserably as i ate so much bad foods while i was in London , Mostly to save on cost , i feel so sorry for you who live there , prices are HIGH , compared to where i live,
Tell me about it.
I hope the weigh-in goes okay.:A0 -
Aw Humpty , what a shame you had to re-do it
My own fault, shouldn't be watching TV, talking to grandson and doing complicated pattern at the same time. Author of my own downfall :rotfl: My grandson was very impressed though, he told me I should do crochet professionally as he thinks I'd make alot of money. Given how many hours have gone into this shawl I think the work alone would be over £200 a NLW so I can't see a big market for my skills.0 -

Good for you! :T You certainly like your blues. You've probably told me before but have you had your colours done?:)
Strangely moll, I don't find eating out in London that expensive. Obviously I'm talking about average restaurants and bars not the The Ivy! It could be that where I live in the south is also expensive and I know sugarbaby does really well with Groupon and other offers.
I read today that it's been reported that some more expensive labels (like Top Shop) have been discovered putting their label on identical garments sold much cheaper by other brands. People on Twitter have photographed clothes with the remnants of the original labels on them. I'm guessing that's happened at source where one factory will be making items for a number of suppliers.
It didn't surprise me. I've often looked at items in the more expensive shops and thought the same. You can tell by the quality of the fabric and how the item is made. Don't you think?:)
Those interim goals are a great idea LL. SW do a thing called Countdown where you can pay for 10 weeks and get 2 weeks free. Obviously making money is involved (some people pay and then don't keep going) but others find it really helps with commitment. A friend told me last week that she'd bought one because her holiday was in 12 weeks time. I thought 'lucky her' and then realised I'll be away then too!! Where does the time go. in 12 weeks it'll be mid June and I'll be on my annual sunshine holiday.:D
I've had a good session of fabbing again this morning. Because we're going to another black tie do shortly I've gone back to using a little self tanning cream mixed in with my body lotion especially on my arms.
Bright and sunny again here today. I'll sit in the sun with my book again later (maybe inside the conservatory though).;)0 -

I've not had my colours done, but am literally allergic to brown, beige, orange n yellow:rotfl:Love black, red, turqouise, purple and deep blues"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Sadly this has been going on for years. I know of a few examples personally with certain boutiques having their "own " brand and a big name label that I know employed someone to change the labels. Most stuff comes from the same factory with most likely poor conditions for the women working there.
I tend to ignore a lot of the fast fashion and have not stepped into primark in over a year. It is a practical reason- it takes me a long time to choose items and it really annoys me if it turns into a shapeless bag a few washes in. I prefer to buy in charity shops as it is prewashed and hopefully will be able to last.
I tend to look for quality- cotton and fabric that does not crease easily. I am getting very tired of the culture of wear it once clothes like a clothes horse. A well cut, beautiful draping outfit will look timeless compared to the never ending clutter of new and cheap clothing. There is no possibility of me being a minimalist but going forward I am trying to buy quality over quantity.
The fabbing is going not great with the weight loss. I am aiming to do better- life is complicated so I am aiming for small victories. hair and make up daily and smart clothes are a good level of maintenance.0 -
I've got some paid work this morning but I am sitting here drinking a cup of tea and putting off going in. I really need to motivate myself and really I do about one full day a month on average which is hardly taxing and the money is useful. Why am I not getting going!
I want to finish my shawl, I want to watch mindless TV, I want cups of tea but I also want the money. Arggggh.0 -
Good morning fabbers,
I love reading all your posts and seeing how you’re all doing.
I’m getting used to my new mouth and I can’t explain how amazing it is to not be self conscious about y’know talking to people.
Now, I’ve always been partial to a drink or two, in my situation with my daughter I realised I was drinking a little too much to try and cope but I have laid off it and not had a drink for 10 days now and plan to keep it that way. Helped by the fact that she is recovering solidly.
I’m sleeping better and my skin looks better too. I’ve been sipping 3 pints of Water over the evenings too.
Anybody tried dermaplaning? Expensive in salons but easy to do at home, I bought the razors and my life my skin is smooth. Moisturiser sinks in beautifully. I’m fair though, I’m not sure darker skin would work so well. Anyway it was a couple of pounds well spent.
The weather is very up and down so I’m not going to buy new clothes just yet (I say buy, it will be a nectar haul) :rotfl::rotfl:0
