  • I felt sad hearing Scott Walker has died, loved his music back in the 60s.

    Glorious here again.:D

I've taken my time with my shower/hairwash this morning and not cut any corners with my fabbing which I sometimes have to do when I'm in a rush. So all the creaming done, tidied eyebrows, defuzzed legs, hair blow dried, perfume on ...

Thanks for the heads up on the Clarins at Boots LL. Boots is often the best value for branded make up on the High Street especially as their Advantage Card is probably the best loyalty card around. I might even be able to buy the Beauty Flash Balm with points. :D I sometimes get things delivered to my small local store with Click and Collect too but as I'll be in the city centre tomorrow I'll take a look then.

Chanie will be pleased about the 25% off at Tu Sheila as she often buys basics for the children. I might get some jeans or jeggings. I tried some on at the weekend. I preferred the fit of the jeggings to the jeans but they seemed to be all one length which was too short for me. One of the things that's annoyed me with recession is the way that zips have got shorter and shorter on jeans over time. They must be about half the length they used to be and IMO it doesn't help the fit or comfort.:(

Any idea when the Sainsbury's 25% off wine is coming back? ;)

I plan to sit in the sun and read my book later after a little light ironing. I haven't started on purpose made podcasts yet but I find the BBC Sounds App very useful for catching up on radio programmes I've missed. At the moment, the 15 minute programmes of Passage to India are on there in an omnibus version.. I used to love radio but I'm getting very selective as to what I listen to as there's so much dumbing down and repeats.

    Have a good day everyone.:)

Gok Wan was saying to put body lotion on everyday so I'm trying to do that now. I find that quite a hard habit to stick to. I will try to do it at night.

sheila thanks for the heads up on Sainsburys. I have just filled my basket ready for tomorrow.
  • I should have waited for my raincoat from Sainsburys! Never mind I enjoyed wearing it to a couple of meet ups with friends last week.

My shawl is coming on, the main body is finished it is about 5 ft long and 30 inches wide. I am now wasting time on here to avoid working on the fancy border I am planning to go all round it. It is looking really nice so I am hoping I don't mess it up. It is lovely and soft and I think it will be ideal if the evening turns chilly. My hand is still feeling great so I think crochet must be good for the joints so that is a bonus.

I'm treating myself to a facial next week, it is a pricey one but I figure a boost to my skin will be good and if I like the effects I can do it again in a few weeks ready for the wedding.

I've been using the oil on my nails and they do seem better, not sure how that works as they obviously grew weeks ago before they were visible but I'm not going to worry about it if it works.

Well I am going to bite the bullet and tackle my fancy border.

    Good Morning Lovely Ladies

Sitting here in bed, drinking my coffee and watching the sunrise, planning my day......slept 8 hours straight and feel great. Must be all that gardening,

Lost another 1lb at WW, so Sunday's feast didnt do any damage. I had planned it in advance, being extra careful to allow myself a bit of leeway. And although I feasted on everything I wanted on the day, I did not overindulge. One delicious Prosecco truffle chocolate was plenty, one glass of wine, one small portion of desert. Just savouring every bit. Looks like I'm finally learning to "Eat Like a Frenchwoman" -learning how to balance indulgence with restraint.;)

It might sound boring and overly restrictive but I feel the pay off is worth it, not only continuing to lose weight whilst indulging in high calorie treats but also happy to report my blood sugar levels are coming down nicely. That's my real motivation.

And yes, Maman - Slow but sure, always remembering the elephant.....ha ha.

Yesterday I picked up the most amazing bargain from a charity shop. A pair of as new thick heavy curtains in a gorgeous deep plum colour, perfect for my quirky but not exactly air tight double oak doors to my hall. £3

Going to make a start on clearing out some of the small stuff from the sheds and do a tip run this morning. How glamourous....:rotfl: then get my hair cut this afternoon.

Yes, I too was sorry to see Scott Walker had died, fabulous voice. Another one of my teenage fantasies gone......still at least he wasnt an early rock and roll casualty like so many of them. And he leaves a legacy of some wonderful songs. A great artist.

So sorry to read that Scott Walker has died :( His voice always made me melt! Rubbed in some heavy duty handcream at bedtime in an effort to get my nails halfway decent. I'm helpng DS1 today with some gardening and pruning so not expecting any reprieve as I can never work in gloves lol.
Nice bargain on the curtains LL & well done on the weight loss.
EJM - We have a patio halfway down our garden & it's a lovely spot to sit on a summer evening with a glass or a cuppa. DH got the chairs out yesterday and we sat there for an hour before tea enjoying the sunshine - small pleasures but bliss.
    Have a fab day all.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

I wore my black maxi dress and a black t-shirt yesterday with my new long necklace and I looked in the mirror and can really notice the weight loss now.:T

I put on body lotion last night. I am also going to use my body brush as I was watching a YouTuber talk about how she lost 100 pounds in weight (!) and why she doesn't have loose skin afterwards.

I am going to body brush and use body lotion every night now.:)

I need to start doing that too. I wash my hands so much during the day as I have cats and dogs.

Just done the first tip run.......I'm going to need to do rather a lot of them. :rotfl: time to tuck into a nice hearty breakfast now.

Re hardworking hands.......O'Keefs the best. It even works on my sons hands, (the garden centre one). What with the garden centre, and now his electrical work and general diy stuff his poor hands really take a battering.

Like Silva I too struggle to work in gloves, especially in the garden. I'm keeping my nails short and feeding them every night. :rotfl:
