Many apologies. I don't know why but it suddenly came back to me but the previous poster from many years ago was called Willow92. So it's obviously not you. That'll teach me for being so nosy. :o

    No worries, :)
Bathroom floor all finished and it looks good if I say so myself. In fact I may have shot myself in the foot as DH now thinks the kitchen floor could do with replacing and as I do the DIY in our house I may have another job to add to my never ending list. ( I enjoy it really).
Desperate for a haircut as my usual stylist broke her hand and I've been hanging on until the cast comes off. Hopefully this coming week.

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend.
  • A vote for fabbing. Bumped into someone I used to work with and she kept saying how great I looked, and as we were talking she had the distracted look as she studied me. How glad was I that I had done my hair and make up and put my new raincoat on, it obviously worked. I was a bit amused and a bit bemused but it did feel good. Definitely makes me feel I should always make the effort.

    Good morning Lovely Ladies.

A lovely day here. Having a day off from gardening, although I might sit out for a while and survey my handiwork so far.

Have family coming round later, so nice eats and "Sobre Mesa". The literal transalation is "after the table". Its the time after a good meal when you sit chatting, laughing, telling stories, drinking wine and coffee, nibbling fruit and chocolate. And now at 8 months old, my grandson has started to join in. :rotfl:

Speaking of fabbing.......I watched a fabulous film last night called "the Dressmaker", starring Kate Winslett, who looks stunning, all luscious curves, in which fabbing is taken to its extreme. It's a darkish comedy set in some god forsaken hell hole in Australia. Shades of Priscilla Queen of the Desert:rotfl: Hugo Weaving is in it as a cross dressing policeman. Very funny and the clothes are wonderful. Can thorougly recommend it if you fancy some welldressed light hearted fun with a slightly dark edge.

(The critics of course were not impressed:rotfl:).

Weight loss going extremely well (well according to my scales) not sure how accurate they are so I will see what happens At WW tomorrow. One thing though.....my clothes are getting looser, especially jeans. At this rate I reckon I will be dropping a size pretty soon. Wahoo. :j

Have booked a hair cut for Tuesday.

Fab post,SUgarbaby. I especially love the final paragraph. You are so right - feeling, looking and being fabulous have nothing to do with either size or age. It really is all about being the absolute best versions of ourselves.

It's truly amazing what a bit of careful styling and good grooming can achieve.

A few of the ladies at the slimming club have questioned why I am there. Several have said that I look really slim and surely I don't need to lose weight. The leader overheard them and gave me a conspiratorial wink, but never said a word. The ladies in question wouldn't let it go, so I just said "I'm bigger than I look, I just try and dress to look slimmer and to make the most of myself".

Obviously my tactics must work because they were astonished when I told them how much I actually weigh .......

And no I don't have "big bones" :rotfl: I have bones like a little bird. One of the reasons I get so much knee and back pain is because I am carrying too much weight for my small frame.

Naturally I am a willow not a sturdy oak. ;)

Thank you for your lovely post sugarbabe You are so right and I need to readjust my thinking and stop 'waiting until'

I also watched The Dressmaker last night LL and loved the clothing. I would live to wear that kind of style. A bit Dita Von Teese.

My fabbing this weekend has consisted of:

Fabbing the car - getting a much needed wash and valet
Fabbing the admin - finally going through all the paperwork I've just been shoving into draws and organising it
Fabbing the house - getting my cleaning plan into place and getting the chores ticked off.
Fabbing the garden - getting grass cut, giving it a bit of a tidy, wiping down the table and chairs so they can be used when the moment takes me and buying some step ladders so that when they're delivered I can do some hedge trimming.

The weather is lovely here. I have washing drying on the line and doors and windows open. :)

    Hello Ladies,

I am looking forward to going to Karaoke tonight, as I am going to be wearing a lovely shimmery purple skirt that only 25 days after doing daily exercise now fits me once again and looks great on me. :j

I am on Level 3 of my exercise video now. I started on level 2 25 days ago and was surprised to find on day 23 that level 2 had become too comfortable for me, so on day 24 I moved on to level 3 and once again I am having to work hard to try to change my body shape. :D

As the weather is so lovely and warm, I will be able to wear one of my many pairs of black shoes rather than my black ankle boots. :D

LL I love the film The Dressmaker. I have seen it many times, as I recorded it the first time it premiered on television. :T

Humpty you go woman. Keep up your fabbing. :D

I'm down another 2 pounds so 6 pounds lost in 3 weeks now.
I do know that I want to have a positive effect on every other woman in my life and make them understand that looking fabulous has absolutely nothing to do with being a particular shape or size. it is about presenting the best versions of ourselves to the outside world day after day. :D

That's really good going Wednesday . Well done you! :T

Have a great time tonight sugarbaby . That's a real bonus being able to wear your 'new' skirt.

I think I'd find it hard to have 'sobre mesa' on Sunday night and weigh on a Monday LL . I've always weighed on a Thursday, had most of my treats at the weekend and then been sensible for the rest of the week. Good luck for tomorrow. :)

The lovely sun today really makes a difference to everyone's mood and I think it's set fair for the week ahead. :)

Like you Frankie, I've put washing out today. Other than that I've done some reading (book and newspaper) and listened to the radio while I prepped the dinner for later.

I noticed that Sainsburys had a little sundress very similar to the chambray one I bought in Matalan. Their's was in blue and white gingham so a bit too Wizard of Oz for me but pretty all the same.

I've made a podiatry appointment for Tuesday. My feet are in quite good shape but I like to go regularly. I generally alternate with pedicures and the last was before my holiday.

Have a good week all. :)

    Good morning lovely ladies

Looks like it's going to be another lovely day.the wind has dropped so hopefully nice and warm. A gardening day.

Well done Wednesday.....that's good going. :T.

I shall be weighing in tonight. Hopefully our feast yesterday won't have scuppered my weight loss. I don't think so. One meal shouldn't do too much damage. I prepared for it in advance by saving points so overall I think it should have been a successful week. Anyway I'll find out this evening.

Maman - meant to say - Boots have the Clarins beauty flash balm on offer at the moment. I have ran out so need to buy some. I really love it, it gives me a healthy "glow" and helps combat winter pallor.

I have caved in and ordered some Dermologica. I tried to save money by buying some Olay Total Effects instead. It used to suit me well enough but it has made the skin around my eyes sore. I think I just have to face the fact that my skin has become even more sensitive.

I think sometimes you can waste a lot of money by trying to save money. Better just to bite the bullet and give my skin what it wants. I won't throw the Olay away though. I will use it up on less sensitive parts of my body.

I am going to book a consultation with the "skin doctor" I saw a couple of years ago. I have a couple of benign cysts that need attention, one is near my eye so I am not going to mess with that. I also have a couple of moles that need investigating.

Hey ho, there's always something. The older I get the more high maintenance I become. :rotfl:

Thanks for the reviews on The Dresser - I saw the trailer at the cinema but didn't get to see it but recorded it when it came on T V but still haven't watched it - will do this week. Loved Priscilla and there was another good one in a similar vein with Patrick Swayze - called To Wong Fu with Love from Julie Newmar. Rubbing some vitamin E oil into my ruined nails in the hope that at least I can get them looking decent
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
