This year I'm determined to get our house decluttered! We've lived here nearly 10 years and we are likely to move in 2020 or 2021 and I don't want to move carp! We moved here with lots of Stuff and then acquired more Stuff when the things in my late mother's house which didn't have an obvious home - or at the time were too difficult to let go of - moved in when we sold her house not long after we had moved here.

I've dug out the konmari checklist which I used when we first had a go at decluttering, and thanks to the action we took then, and the way we think about clothes now, then it was very quick to revisit clothes. Because bedding was piling up everywhere then I did that next - bed linen done but still haven't quite sorted out duvets, pillows etc, and I must get on to towels. I'm going to try and do that this afternoon.

Before I posted in here everything that went out - but that takes a long time so I'm not going to do that this time, just update the total. Thanks to DD having a tidy up before she went back to university we're up to 229 so far, and more exciting is that the bed linen is beautifully organised, a pile of clothes in our room finally got sorted, and it's looking a whole lot tidier.

    A good day's work!
119 a magnifying glass that hangs around the neck
161 pair worn out deck shoes - but kept the leather laces for Justin :rotfl:
163-164 two pots of OOD exzema cream,
All this and I've barely scratched the surface!
    Cracking on...

JaneJamie, I found your post really interesting. I find my reactions to other people’s lists really thought provoking. Eg above - ooh, my Dad might like a magnifying glass round his neck - prezzy idea
laces for Justin - hollow snigger as I do that. And Justin needs loads of laces I can never lay my hands on - I think he eats them!!
OOD excema cream - excitement about the fact I’ve nearly finished my huge moisturuser which prevents my excema. Hoped to get shot of it on hols but dutifully bought the huge nearly empty thing back so as not to waste it. Would be years OOD but body lotion and still kind of works so gritting my teeth and using it up.
    Scarves, ooo, must revisit mine.
So thank you, at least one reader found your list useful!

Back home today so restarting my 5 mins minimum decluttering.

    Happy Sunday everyone!

    Morning all declutterers
My DH and my Dad both have colds so I've had my nurses hat on, therefore I haven't done much this weekend except binned a bottle of OOD corsodyl mouthwash, recycled 2 empty bottles from the bathroom and decluttered some Xmas chocolates :D. Probably put 1lb back on but I was desperate, honest your honour :p. Oh well they say a little bit of what you fancy will do you good :EasterBun.

There will be more food decluttering by the DGC today as they arrive at about 3pm and stay for a sleepover. They will be here all day tomorrow too as their school is closed for a training day............ So that's the fridge and cupboards empty then :rotfl:.
MrsSD please look after yourself because what would we do without you :A

    Happy decluttering

Look after yourself and stay warm!!

Very impressed on everyone's decluttering achievements! In a bit of a CBA mood this afternoon but might do the wardrobe/clothes!

Cooking a roast later so perhaps that'd be my reward! :rotfl:

I'm out of the pantry! Huzzah!

The shelves are out and cleaned, and the inside has had a deep clean too.
Roughly 30 items cleared out for recycling, food bank or bin.
Just waiting on it drying out before I put everything back in.
Helped me compile my shopping list for next week too.

Feels good to have that job done and makes the kitchen feel cleaner

I've moved the wardrobes round in my bedroom and sorted out the junk that was stuffed down the side of them.

63 laptop case to charity bag
64 bunny slipper socks charity bag
65 microwave bunny heat thing charity bag
66 bag of children's coat hangers - will offer them to charity shop then tip if not wanted
67 bag of paper packing - bin
    68 laptop box - bin
    69 cardboard box - bin
70 box for ds game that we can't find - bin

The weather is too awful to go out so a bit of decluttering before doing the ironing seemed like a good plan.

    Had a pretty successful weekend:

    - Towels in airing cupboard seeded and nearly rolled
    - Bed linen inserted sorted (2 bags to textile recycling) and folded
    - Moved are contents of 2 cupboards in kitchen to ensure items used more frequently are to hand
    - Cleared drawer in kitchen of manly old sweets (why are they there?) And now have home for some baking items and birthday candle stash (in New look lock container)
    - Listed decent bedlinen on.Facebook site along with a large slow cooker (too big so can use proceeds for smaller one)

OH been a bit grumpy about me chucking out some of the stuff but he will get it eventually! Son has made his.temporary move to his.sister's room and is starting his sort out.:)

All my paperwork from the other day is now being fed into the fire, the coziest way to declutter

MrsSD It was a fruity Kopperberg, too easy to drink for me :D
