Hi All and best wishes for a fabulous, or at least better 2020!

798 - sellotape I can't find the end of binned
    799 Xmas paper binned

it's been great joining the group and now not frantically trying to tidy for midnight as I know I'll be working on it in the new year.

    Happy New Year

Christmas break has given my OH the opportunity to empty the loft:eek: Everything sorted and many trips to tip to recycle and donate.I now have only decades worth of photos and Christmas decorations up there :D One of the hardest things I have done ,,,going through childrens old school reports and pictures...none of which they wanted to keep..

Gave a few bits of food away on Olio .2020 is going to be a more minimalist year and greener:rotfl:

The last day of 2019 & my last post on this thread.
The day has been mainly dry which didn’t really make any difference to me as I didn’t have to go out :rotfl: DH has spent all day in his office & DSis has spent all day in her room as she has had a severe headache, earache & is generally feeling extremely unwell 🤒 We have just had home cooked cheeseburgers & oven chips for dinner & DSis has retired back to her darkened room. She still has the headache & cannot really cope with light so only DH & I will travel down to Kent on the motorbike rather than being picked up.
I have had a last spurt of decluttering, as well as doing two wash loads & making a focaccia for DH’s niece.
I have managed to empty 2 box files (which have been donated to DH for his office). I have also started a new CS bag even though I have not yet sourced a new CS to benefit from my decluttering :rotfl:

    4913 - 4934 Two x cardboard packaging, 2 drinks cans, glass bottle & metal cap, plastic bottle, 15 brochures/pamphlets, 1” general paperwork - Recycled
4935 - 4938 Bag of kitchen detritus, 1.5 inches of shredding, used scouring pad, pair of Sunday socks - Binned
4939 - 4947 Small ink pad, large ink pad, wooden address ink stamp, 2 Centenary Olympic Games books, comb, unused photo album, lever arch folder, small lint remover - CS Bag

A flurry of activity from short_bird, bit by bit, Barny1979 and TC77 - Well Done :T

  • Last declutter of the year....again:o:rotfl: but a good days work.

Huge bin bag of rubbish into the bin, a box has been set aside for donations for a jumble sale coming up in school in March to raise money for much needed school funds, a bag started up for the Charity shop/door collection - whichever comes first:rotfl:

Returned 2 pairs of trousers I ordered at the weekend as I just wasn't comfortable in them, and returned a gift I'd bought for someone for Christmas, then changed my mind to keep it for their birthday... well I changed my mind again so back to the shop it went:T

Bought myself a lovely new coat in town on sale for £40, couldn't make up my mind over 2 coats, came home and have found the same bloomin coat for half the price on Amazon:mad: So I've now ordered both colours that I liked today in the shop for the price of one I paid for. So a trip back into town on Thursday to return today's coat.
Called into Debenhams today and they had some lovely Belleek items down to half price, bought one of each as they'll make nice teacher/ classroom assistant gifts next year. Also called into Lush again, and bought a few more of their bath bomb sets at half price, so thats me sorted with those for the year:T
I'm currently sitting uploading some photos to be printed off - I've got a deal on 1p prints from Boots so doing that now before the new year comes.

And that's all my spending done. One of my new years resolutions is to stop spending, and buy myself one treat a month. I bought enough today to do me the next year, but to be fair 1) I never spend money on myself, and 2) Everything was half price or less and I've started for Christmas next year when this years isn't even over yet:rotfl:

But I've done a good lot of decluttering today, aswell as selling 5 items already on Ebay so I'm on a roll.
Tomorrow I'll go through my coats and whatever I haven't used will go into a donation bag too.
One of my rules for 2020 is one item in..... one item out.

SO that's me done. I've done a hell of a lot this year, decluttered a bag a day so 365 bags decluttered this year aswell as the numerous items not counted in that challenge.
Here's hoping for another successful year.

Thanks to you all for the great motivation this year, and I'll see you all on the new thread in 2020!!

    Happy New Year everyone!

Oh wow, Sep was about the last time I got time to post in here :eek: I didn't give up, I just couldn't keep up with life as it all went a bit wobbly!! October's distraction was a man....who was a waste of time in the end! November's distraction was moving 5 sofas in and out of my lounge :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Pretty ridiculous situation I got in, but resulted in smashing up the ex's 2 aging sofas and finally getting rid :j AND taking out the stinky old carpet that was at least 30 years old.....now have painted floorboards and rugs :) Various other things have gone and some old Christmas decorations now too. Last total was 1229......so didn't quite complete, although I started late hey ;);)

Thanks for all the support - there is still a ton more to go, and ex asked to come and collect his stuff either before or immediately after Xmas as he neede his log book. I've found it, but since he couldn't be bothered to turn up for a 5th time, I can't be bothered to let him know!! :D

  • I’ve decluttered 10 pairs of trousers today. Size 12-14. Including 4 pairs of jeans which I’ll offer to a friend, and 6 to charity shop. I’m size 18 reducing to 16.....
I’ve even found a pair that fits!
    Very pleased.
