Saturday was a mostly rainy day but I braved it & went to Oxford Street to buy DH’s Christmas present ;) The crowds were nowhere near as bad as I had expected :T but still too crowded for me :rotfl: Managed to find almost what I wanted in JL so bought it :p Visited 2 more stores & bought a 2nd one in the 3rd store - again not exactly what I wanted but at least I have a choice :p Stopped off at sm to buy something for DSis’s dinner & stock up on dairy products. DH will buy the Christmas vegetables. DSis went to Doctors for her flu jab - 5th year anniversary of her heart attack :( & then found a new hairdressers - he made a really good job of her hair cut :T
DH went to sm for drinks.

Dinner was - cheeseburger & chips for DSis, reheated curry for DH - which he binned as it had fermented :o but the naan bread was OK ;) & I had lo pasta bolognese baked with mozzarella topping. I finished scarf no.16 & started knitting scarf no.17

Sunday has been dry & bright so far. I am in the process of making a focaccia for our invite to neighbour for pre-Christmas gathering. Also taking a few cans & a small pot of hg olives.

4789 - 4796 Two drinks cans, glass bottle & metal cap, cardboard packaging, 2 small foil trays, plastic bottle, small glass jar - Recycled

4797 - 4800 Bag of kitchen detritus, broken plastic cap, sponge scourer, sponge cloth - Binned

    You are welcome notmy1sttime :)

    Well Done TC77 :T Rapidly approaching 800 :D

Excellent work Chocolatedrinker :T A massive achievement & I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️
Looking forward to seeing you next year ;)

I love Christmas :j - I love cooking for Christmas :j - but I do hate when everything is bought and just sitting there waiting to be used .

Made Vegetarian Moussaka, Celeriac, leek & thyme (only forgot the thyme:embarasse) and put them in the fridge in the garage, so that cleared some space. Out of sight out of mind :rotfl:

I then went through the kitchen like a dose of salts and cleared space on the table, cleared a windowledge and decided that the largest worktop - all of 2 ft square - should be kept clear for pastry making, so ended up moving other stuff into the garage ready to go to the charity shop. I also found in there, a few things that 'I' got rid of months ago, which hubby hasn't parted with yet.:(

Have a bazzing Christmas everyone.

  • Evening everyone. Hope everyone's prep for Christmas is all going smoothly.
A lot of decluttering here, recycling was lifted on Friday morning, and the box is almost filled again:o But collection is as normal this Friday coming so all's good :rotfl:

Various gifts and bags were taken into work during the past week so I can now see my bedroom floor again:T We can now also see the corner of the living room again as I've put the remaining decorations up and the rest have gone into a charity bag to be donated in the new year.

Just to wrap up the remaining family gifts for the bug day itself and then I'll have my house back again, free of extras :rotfl:

Tomorrow will be the last run round the house to get rid of things we don't need, big clean from top to bottom - bathrooms washed/floors mopped, floors hoovered, dusting to be done, damp cloth down the bannisters and sides of the stairs, and kitchen washed down.
Then that's it done, relax for the rest of the year:rotfl::T

I haven't been in for a while. I have been super busy with both Christmas and taking care of and supporting family members with health issues.
I am not yet back on the wagon totally but have give a bag to the CS and a bag of toiletries to the local homeless charity which will be used at their shelter. As I seem collect gifts of toiletries I will do this again every few months as keeping clean isn't only for Christmas ( or so I am told :rotfl:).

Bag total for the year is now 92 so I hope to make it to 100 by New Years Day.

Have a good Christmas one and all.

Monday was mainly dry & bright. DH & I had an uneventful trip to the sm - reasonable drive to MrS - just the last mile was a bit slow. Sm was not rammed & we only needed vegetables & bread. Journey home was completely clear. Dinner was pork loin steaks, mash & garden peas - yummy 🤤

Well that's it done here. No more decluttering until January.
House hovered from top to bottom, bathrooms cleaned, all floors mopped, kitchen wiped down, beds changed, sheets washed and hanging up to dry. All wrapping is finally done, neighbours cards have been put through the letterboxes, just had something to eat.
Now time to go have a nice long bath and then get dressed and head up to Christmas mass at 8.30pm.

:xmassign: Happy Christmas to each and every one of you, I good you all have a lovely few days. Enjoy yourselves, make lots of memories and stay safe.:xmastree:
