Maybe you should count the individual pieces of paper? :D

I'm sure if I'd done that throughout the year I would easily have reached the 2019 goal :p .

No decluttering to report from last week and there may not be any this as there's a lot to do for various reasons.

Gem-gem, is this extra stuff really stuff you want to keep and is their decluttering still going on? If they still send stuff your way, can you agree with them that you will find a good place for it if you can't use it yourself, and then (this is the important bit) make the decision immediately on leaving their house and drop the stuff at the cs? Don't let it get a foot in the door, or it will insist in moving in!

Some of it is very useful and I am using. My loft is full again, with my mother's stuff ready to boot fair. Hubby is not happy that our virtually cleared loft is not clear anymore.
During the holidays I am going to do my cupboards out and only keep the best/ non chipped of everything. I will free my kitchen cupboards up again. I also will streamline the books again from my spare room wardrobe.

On a plus side. I have finally finished wrapping Xmas gifts up. I have used up all recycled wrapping paper. Only used new paper on two presents. Some of hubbies presents have been wrapped up in delivery bags turned inside out. Tags, ribbon and paper - no cost this year. Still have over a new roll of wrapping paper left. So won't be buying any this year for next year. When this is finished I will be going over to brown paper.

Second lot of presents (sisters) being delivered on Tuesday. Three more bags gone from the house.

Have already arranged with three family members that they will have an experience as a birthday present instead a present. This equals less clutter and a good time together.

Tomorrow, I am going to go through my jam jars. Received loads from neighbours. Going to recycle unwanted ones and only keep the best ones. Going to do it now rather than in June.

1/3rd of the jam jars have been put into recycling.
2/3rds consolidated and neatly put back into the cupboard.

1 small Pyrex dish in the bin. I was taking the foil lid off the crumble and accidentally pulled it from the oven. Smash it went all over the floor. No homemade apple and raspberry crumble for our pudding today. :(

Saturday & Sunday have been mainly dry with a decent amount of sunshine - rained heavily overnight. DH & I did a fairly large sm shop including the meat for Christmas Day. DSis raked the leaves up on the front lawn whilst we were out. Dinner was fish, fishcakes, oven chips & peas. I also used up more items from the freezer to make another soup - this time chicken based.
DH & I had a bowl each for Sunday lunch. Today we finally planted our spring bulbs - I know, I know - exceedingly late but fingers crossed 🤞 :rotfl:
Sausages, mash & beans for tonight’s dinner.

4667 - 4690 Six drinks tins, 3 food cans, magazine, 5 lots of cardboard packaging, 2 plastic trays, large cardboard box, 0.5” paperwork, booklet, plastic bottle, 2 glass jars & metal lids, bag of paperwork from DH - Recycled
4691 - 4701 Bag of kitchen detritus, 10 lots of plastic packaging - Binned

Nice to see you IrishRose12 :D We are fortunate in that we have a large wheelie bin for our recycling but I share your annoyance at the over large cardboard boxes & the inordinate amount of paper packaging inside the boxes. I hope you had a successful decluttering weekend :)

Well Done villagelife :T One Gold Star ⭐️ on it’s way to you ;)

Good work Barny1979 :T More pennies in the pot & almost 1600 items out ;) - hopefully I can send you a gold star ;)

The last thing you need notmy1sttime - please take the time to get fully well :) Congratulations on selling the bike :T must be nice to have room to move in your kitchen & a few pennies in your savings pot :D

oceanspirit, please don’t get disheartened - think of all that decluttering on Christmas Day - food, wrapping paper & packaging :rotfl:

Great work Gem-gem :T especially on the present wrapping & tagging. You should be very proud of ousting the glass jars six months early :T I need to sort my kitchen cupboards again - I am sure glass jars & plastic containers must be made of mushrooms as they seem to breed in the dark :rotfl: I also need to be a bit more brutal with utensils & crockery - if they haven’t been used then they MUST be released into the wild :rotfl: Unfortunately I still haven’t found a new CS :( Shame about the loft filling up - but as you will be car booting I am positive it will be empty again by the end of 2020 :D

Excellent work on the decluttering TC77 :T I look forward to awarding you a gold star when you reach 800 ;) however you have earned a Gold Star ⭐️ for your excellent decision NOT to buy more storage boxes - you have my admiration :T

See you tomorrow when I WILL be dragging my Decluttering & cleaning mojo out into the light :rotfl:

Used up conditioner - bottle washed and recycled.
    Used up soap.
    Used up body moisturiser.
    New soap cardboard box recycled.

Yes, I agree jars and plastic containers are like mushrooms. They do seem to breed as quick as them.

Bought 4 x2 tickets to see Harry Potter play in London - this is niece and nephew's birthday/Christmas present. Looking forward to spending a quality day with them and brother making memories. Bonus - no clutter required. Just the decluttering / emptying of my bank account!!!

  • Afternoon all

After a very traumatic afternoon of finally getting my husband to go in the loft to bring down the Christmas decorations (im not allowed to go up) we have most of them down and 2 trees taken to the tip as he couldn't find the bases for them. This then meant i couldn't put them on freecycle :( but on a slightly more positive note they do get stripped coz they contain metal.:D

Monday was a mixed day weather-wise - a bit of sunshine, then overcast, then rain. DSis & I managed to avoid the rain when we went for our 5th session at the Chinese Medical Centre.
Have booked our next session for Friday so nothing during Christmas week. I finished scarf no.14 & started no.15 :) Delivered 2 scarves to neighbour G as his volunteering is on Tuesdays. The half price quilted coat my DH ordered for me arrived today & fits (size 18 :j) even over a jumper :j It is a long one - below knees - so should be nice & toasty ;) Posted my last Christmas card (inclusive of apology letter). We have an invite for Sunday - drinks & food.
Dinner was roast beef, roast potatoes, roasted cauliflower & broccoli, Yorkshires & boiled carrots with DH making a really tasty gravy. Absolutely delicious & enough meat left for Tuesday’s dinner.

4702 - 4717 Two drinks tins, glass bottle & metal cap, 2 food cans, 4 lots of cardboard packaging, 3 lots of plastic packaging, newspaper, uu deodorant can, plastic pot & lid, paper packaging - Recycled
4718 - 4720 Bag of kitchen detritus, 2 lots of plastic packaging - Binned
4721 - 4722 Two scarves to neighbour for homeless
4723 Another roasting tin with peeling non stick coating - Tip bag

Well Done on the decluttering Gem-gem :T What a lovely Christmas present :) - your niece, nephew & brother are very lucky :)

Good work never too old :T I approve of the ban on you going into the loft :D

See you tomorrow when I WILL TRY to drag my Decluttering & cleaning mojo out into the light :rotfl:
