I have been very remiss in postingunfortunately NOT because I have been decluttering
Tuesday was a mainly dry day & I met a former colleague for lunch time drinks. Haven’t seen him for a while so 1.5 hours flew by while we caught up on all our news. Pencilled in a March meeting. DH put together the 4 dining chairs that were delivered a few weeks ago (we will be able to sit down at the table for Christmas dinner :rotfl: Lunch was hm soup & crusty bread & dinner was cottage pie mix (from the freezer) topped with cheesy mash with green beans & mixed vegetables also from the freezer with enough left for Wednesday’s dinner with carrots from freezer. 4 more items from freezer :j I am working very hard to empty the freezer for defrosting
Wednesday DH & I went to Kent to visit his sister & BiL & niece - ostensibly to book a 2 city trip to Russia. Coffee, mince pies & cake were consumedWe managed to avoid the rain riding down but got wet coming home
We have agreed on dates & what we would like to see but will not be booking it until 27th December. I gave a small jar of hm tomato chutney to DH’s niece & a rather wonderful gift from her was an extra large throw to cover my 2nd sofa. I was absolutely delighted as I had been unable to source one :j Dinner was the rest of the cottage pie with extra lo mash.
Thursday it has done nothing but rain 🌧 DH & I risked getting wet & dropped off the last lot of donations at the CS having been promised that the shop would be openI had to leave the bags outside - fortunately there is a covered walkway - as no-one was there. DSis went out in the rain & cast her vote (postal votes for DH & I
) DSis cooked dinner - M+S lasagne & garlic bread.
Have completed scarf no.12 & started scarf no.13 & DDis has repaired her umbrella :rotfl:

Hi guys. Hope everyone is keeping well.
My de-cluttering mojo has disappeared so not much happening here ATM. This is one of the 3 busiest times in school, the other 2 being September and June. I'd actually say December is the busiest as weve Christmas plays, various Christmas trips, events and visitors to us so we're all go go.
The house is a mess, due to Christmas gifts hiding everywhere, thembthe decorations that still haven't managed to be put up so you cant even see my kitchen table at the minute, and do.t even ask to go near the corner off the living room:eek: and dont even bother asking about the attic:(
But today some of that will all changethe plan for today is to clear the kitchen table, put the decorations in their homes for the next few weeks, and put the boxes of then away. Then the corner will be attacked and blitzed whatever is in there hasn't been needed or looked at for over a week, so if it's not a gift, then it's going in the bin.
What is really annoying me this year is the amount of boxes we have from gifts bought online. The size of them from the likes of Amazon and the Disney Store for what the actual items are is just ridiculous, the Disney stores especially. Then you have the stupid amount of paper that's inside the boxes to pack j soothe items dont get broken etc. Just use a smaller box people:mad:
Yesterday we received 3 parcels from amazon alone. All 60cms long and 30 wide......with mountains of paper stuffing inside, to protect one insulated bottle Inside each box:mad: I ordered them from the same seller, so.they should have arrived in one small box.
I have sent both companies complaints regarding their packaging as I'm just sick of the wastage now. Aand the fact I only have 2 small kerbside recycling boxes and their packaging alone is taking up my one and only small cardboard recycling, leavening me with o room for other recycling.
We've now gotten.tk the point that amazon boxes just go into the wheelie bin as they're just too big. And if they're the seen on the large waste piles, then maybe Amazon will wise up to themselves.
It has made me promise that from now on in, were sticking to physical shops. And if an item cant be bought in a shop, then it won't be bought.
Its very unusual for.me to be up at this time on a Saturday morning so I'm off to make the most of it lol.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
