I just noticed your post, you made me think, I have champagne that is probably just as old. I have not idea of quality or even if it 'still good' can anyone advise please?

There is no way to tell unless you open it & taste it :(

I won a Jeroboam of Moët & Chandon Champagne, in a raffle in 2001. I was rather slapdash in caring for it - temperature changes & moved about frequently :o Donated to a family member for a 30th birthday in 2017 (with the proviso that there was plenty of ‘new’ champagne available - just in case it was undrinkable :o) However we were extremely lucky - it was one of the nicest champagnes I have drunk & everyone else enjoyed it as well :D

Obviously not as old as yours, but you might be lucky ;) although I would have a new bottle available - just in case you are not lucky ;)

Wednesday & Thursday were both rainy days - but although I had appointments both days I managed to avoid the heavy rain :T

Wednesday DSis & I had our 2nd sessions at the Chinese Medical Centre. Enjoyable for me but DSis was not happy :( Then off to sm. DH emptied a crate & sorted the contents as appropriate.
Dinner was hm fish pie - delicious 🤤 Another item out of the freezer :T
Apart from the dodgy weather, Thursday has been a lovely day. DH accompanied me to pick up my hearing aids - he was there for the technical side of things :rotfl: Marvellous & very discreet but a good job I was sitting down when I had to pay the balance  We decided to road test them by going to the pub :rotfl: Had several beers & a bite to eat (DH - burger & chips, me - cheese on toast) Lots & lots of conversation & I heard every word (even with background music & other conversations going on around us :j ) We had a lovely time - really must reinstate our ‘dates’ without including DSis ;) Home & ordered a Chinese for DSis, DH & I had hm soup & crusty bread.

4419 - 4431 Two drinks cans, 5 lots of cardboard packaging, 2 magazines, 2 newspapers, plastic bottle, plastic pot - Recycled
4432 - 4433 Coffee tin of kitchen detritus, bag of kitchen detritus - Binned

    whmf00001, how lovely - decluttering, recluttering & a new friend :D

Well Done on the decluttering Picklepot :T Sounds like little dog was a calming influence on the cats - maybe they are just missing little dog :(

    Well Done Rootle :T

Will see you tomorrow - DH’s birthday :)

  • I want my husband to go through the rest of the garden storage next week as he is off work. There is a bag of miscellaneous cables out there that I'm sure we don't need!

I went through my airing cupboard and washed some things that I haven't used in ages. I realised that we have 12 pillowcases which is absurd as we only have one king sized bed in the whole house! I think I am going to keep hold of the spare pillowcases and use them as pet blankets as it saves buying more for my pets. So I didn't really declutter anything.:D

I am sure I have decluttered more things this week but I can't think what they were.

Wednesday DSis & I had our 2nd sessions at the Chinese Medical Centre. Enjoyable for me but DSis was not happy :(

    Why was that?

I had acupuncture once on my legs and found it okay but then recently had three sessions with the needles in my back and I found it extremely uncomfortable. I was meant to have more but I couldn't take it. I even found the reflexology at the Chinese place quite painful as well.:o

  • The last 9 neutral items sent to charity for this year. That makes 201 items donated which I am really happy about.

    Generally
    499- notebook-finished off. Recycling
500- beef curry that I wasn't sure survived the big fridge/freezer fail. Food recycling, wasn't taking the chance
    501- shampoo sample-finished
    502- huge amount of cardboard-recycling

Have a collection of bits to take to the CS. Hoping to do that tomorrow. Will check if there are any more bits to go

    Happy days!

Black Friday has helped me virtually declutter from a load of mailings lists I didn't realise I was signed up to :)

Haven't posted since September as decluttering has been slow, but I have been reading and cheering along from behind the scenes.

Have recorded 10 items that have been taken to CS or binned and 11 items of paperwork recycled or shredded since September so won't be breaking any decluttering records. However 21 items gone is definitely a win for my home.

Mrs SD, loved reading about your birthday trip to Prague. So glad you had a lovely time.

Friday has been a cold, bright day with a fair bit of sunshine :D. It is DH’s birthday today - so he opened his cards - DSis bought him some Am*z*n vouchers, I had wrapped the books he bought himself but with money in as bookmarks :rotfl: Also gave him the Easter Egg I had saved :p He then went out for a ride on the motorbike & delivered 2 cricket score books to an old colleague & a motorcycle manual to a friend. On the way back he picked up 2 more of the slimline filing cabinets. Two more cards arrived for DH. My DSis has made a chocolate coconut cake for DH & I cooked his birthday dinner - HB sausage casserole - more food from the freezer & store cupboards - with crusty bread. DSis is finishing her Chinese. All I have done today is cleared down a few programmes from my planner & continued knitting the 7th scarf.

4434 - 4442 Three drinks cans, 2 lots of cardboard packaging, newspaper, 3 food cans - Recycled
4443 - 4445 Two lots of plastic packaging, bag of kitchen detritus - Binned
4446 - 4448 Two cricket score books, motorcycle manual - Delivered to new homes :rotfl:

Wednesday2000 repurposing is almost the same as decluttering ;) as I assume that when they have seen service as pet blankets they will be ragged? The reason my DSis was not happy is that the cupping is painful & she bruises easily + this time she felt most of the acupuncture needles. Hopefully next time won’t be so bad - we have 11 more sessions :rotfl:

Yippee Happy Kitties :j Well Done on the decluttering proper & neutral :T You have earned TWO Gold Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ - 200 & 500 :T

Glad Black Friday has proved useful for something Barny1979 ;)

Thank you oceanspirit :T it is almost like a dream now :( Well Done on the decluttering :rotfl: I agree that it doesn’t matter how much is decluttered - always a win when you notice how much better your home feels with less clutter :D

Will see you all tomorrow - back to decluttering the office :(

Haven't posted on here for ages, but since my epiphany earlier this year I have continued to declutter piece by piece.

I also unexpectedly became an 'empty nester' in October which gave the decluttering a huge boost as some furniture and lots of surplus bedding, towels, kitchen pots and pans, crockery etc were passed on.

It's just me and OH now, I have a little bit more to declutter in the spare room, and then it's only the man cave which is a mess. I feel so much happier having a clearer home, and even OH has started putting out some of his magazines for recycling instead of hoarding them, so there is hope for a clutter free life going forward.

I may not post often but I read the thread weekly to keep me motivated :)

  • I remembered I have used up a lot of toiletries this week. Body lotion, face scrub etc...

I used up a whole small tub of cream to put on my feet with socks daily as well. An old mascara binned too.

I have the donation bag to take next week. I might add another jumper to the bag as well.

My pets often throw up on the blankets so they usually have to be binned._pale_

I think Chinese medicine must affect people differently. :DI must be sensitive like her.
