No more beautifyingso didn’t get wet :j DSis got back about 4:30 - she didn’t manage to avoid the downpours but fortunately her coat was fully waterproof :T She & her friend spent most of their time dodging rain showers. Cheeseburger & milkshake & a good old chinwag :rotfl:
I cooked chicken in butter, boiled potatoes & green beans for dinner & have also knocked up a soup with various odds & ends for lunches for the rest of the week.

hey there!
New on the thread but am becoming quite addicted to decluttering my life!
It started when I had a lovely offer to help me pay to redecorate my house (urgently needed!LOL) which started my clear out. Delving into every cupboard and box made me realiese I have been an accidental hoarder for years now...Im not attached to all the junk I have, I just put it somewhere and forget about it!
Honestly couldnt count how much stuff Ive thrown out/taken to CS. All the big categories covered, tons of bin bags of clothes, hundreds of DVDs and CDs, books and books (I now have a floor to ceiling cupboard filled with books which is probably only about 1/3 of what I had!). Am now down to ornaments, pictures, kitchen supplies, etc.
And as I mostly live in the downstairs of my house I have somebody coming in a few days to empty my 3 bedrooms of everything! I cant wait!!0 -

Wednesday has been a lovely sunny day but now the nights are drawing in & the wind has picked up & the clouds are gatheringAfter the shock of the welding quote DH has decided that he will try to repair the base plate of the pillar drill
DH trimmed out our next door neighbour’s front garden hedge & then we pruned & weeded the rest of his front garden - quite brutally - looks well cared for now
Nice little story coming up :rotfl: DSis was outside the front of the house when she noticed a rather puzzled neighbourHe was looking at his front path & doorstep & wondering where all the weeds had gone
He noticed DSis & asked if she had done it & of course she credited me :T Thanks were sent
Half an hour later I went out to resume beautifying
the neighbour & his wife popped out & we had a nice discussion about gardening. Next thing you know they have come out with a bottle of Spanish red wine as a thank you :T Unexpected but wonderful
Did about an hour of beautifying & DSis spent about half an hour sweeping up after me :T
3650 - 3658 Three drinks tins, glass bottle & metal cap, plastic pot, glass jar & plastic lid, plastic bottle, 2 magazines - Recycled
3659 - 3662 Two lots of plastic packaging, bag of kitchen detritus, pair of rubber gloves- Binned

Well Done villagelife & Barny1979 :T :T keeping up the momentum :T
:hello: catz4m8z welcome aboard the Decluttering Bandwagon :T We love to ‘see new faces’. You are very well organisedand sounds like you have the bit between your teeth :rotfl: Are you getting the bedrooms emptied completely or will there still be beds? - ignore that - just re-read your post - you are getting rid of EVERYTHING
I really loved your description of yourself ‘an accidental hoarder’ - I wonder how many of us that description applies to :rotfl: It sounds like you have been following the Marie Kondo method of decluttering :rotfl: your house must be echoing :rotfl:
I don’t think I have ever awarded a Gold Star to a first time poster but the amount of work you have done & the gusto with which you have attacked the decluttering challenge means that I am awarding you TWO Gold Stars 🌟 🌟 Really looking forward to seeing your next post & getting a description of your decorated roomsYou are an inspiration to us all :T
If the weather is nice tomorrow I will continue the beautifying project plus DH & I need to pick the rest of the olives for pickling.
I know I should ask on the gardening thread, but I am sure some of you lovely people will know- once I have picked all my green tomatoes (will be attempting to make chutney
) do I compost the foliage & stems? (The plants were grown from seeds & we do have loads left
)
See you all tomorrow

Sunday’s weather improved, stayed dry & sunny - the forecast heavy rainfall never materialised :T Eventually got around to making the cottage pie - took hours but it was well worth itMy DSis doesn’t like celery so replaced with mushrooms & bulked out with red lentils, frozen peas, green beans, sweetcorn & carrots & a tin of butter beans. Enough for 2 large cottage pies plus a 3rd portion for the freezer to go with the cheesey mash already in the freezer :T It was absolutely delicious - so all 3 of us are looking forward to same again Monday night :rotfl: The only decluttering I did was programmes from my planner
