2019 - A Clutter Free Life

Hubby actually refused a visit to a cs as he's in de-cluttering mode (he says) and doesn't want to be buying anything. He's even got some books for the cs. He doesn't know it but he's also got quite a few clothes too :rotfl:
Yesterday I decluttered a tub of cottage cheese from the fridge with a use by date of 8th June. As it hadn't been opened it was perfectly fine. A lot of sell by/use by dates are like this. I've been using unopened cream cheese from around the same time. I go by look, smell and taste.
Does anyone else keep their jars of jam, mincemeat, marmalade etc., upside down in the fridge? It stops air getting in and it going mouldy. I have the fruit spread - no sugar - and I was throwing loads of part jars away, as I don't eat it very often, but since being told this I've not had to.
Keep up the good work all.

Not a bad week last week. Managed to clear out my handbag (has to be scheduled and built up to!). Also helped 13YO start on her bedroom (work in progress).
Cleared some kitchen cupboards (for plastic box sorting watch this space!). I've made a list of packets that need to be used up and are close to being empty (e.g 7 different types of flour:eek:) - will build those into my menu planning

Thankyou for the support MrSD. I haven't been to the CS for three weeks for various reasons. I came back to find the till being manned by someone else and I am back to sorting. This works well in my favour as it is not so essential that I be there on time. I spoke to the lady in charge on a Sunday and she has agreed to let me come in when I feel ready. :T
I took two more bags in yesterday so my total is now 77/100.:)
As the seasons change I am now having to put summer wear for the rag man at the CS unless brand new.:( I find this so wasteful but necessary as the shop can only store so much stock.
I have a bag of jumpers ready to be donated in the next few weeks plus a load of Christmas stuff which I will take in at the end of October. I have started a spring summer clothes bag which I wil put in place of the winter bag in the wardrobe. Its great to have a specific place to store stuff.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. I have been busy all weekend so no decluttering done. I took a bag away with me for the weekend and I realised how uncomfortable the strap was so that will be donated to a charity shop! It is in very good condition so hopefully it would be okay for someone else as long as they don't have to fill it up too much.
I then looked through my wardrobe again and put in a vest top, a skirt and a dress as well. I threw away another few pairs of knickers as I find them uncomfortable.
I bought my hubbie some new warm winter jumpers so I'm going to go through his wardrobe again too.:)
All the bins and recycling bins emptied too.0 -

Hangs her head in shameMonday was one of those damp grey days but managed to get to & back from the P.O. (bus
) without getting wet. Apart from the washing up after dinner (2nd cottage pie) I did nothing apart from watch TV
Did send DH to sm to pick up cold drinks & some food shopping
DSis was noticeable by her absence from downstairs :rotfl:
Tuesday has been bright & breezy so far & all 3 of us are doing better todayDSis went out about 10:30 to meet her friend & is not back yet :T DH has been busy in the garage - unfortunately the base plate of the pillar drill has snapped & needs welding  However the cost of welding is prohibitive - 4 to 5 times the cost of the drill  He is investigating whether or not he can get a replacement base plate. He has now started on the wooden sewing box - this will probably be painted & donated to the CS once it has been renovated
DH has also mowed the front lawn & trimmed the front hedge.
I have done at least an hour & an half of weeding/gardening in our close. Have also had a conversation with another neighbour - she was more than happy & gratefulfor my offer to weed her front path :rotfl: She had noticed me working over the last 2 weeks each time she drove past :rotfl:
I was going to do another stint but it has got very, very darkso that has put paid to that :rotfl: & the heavens have opened
