What a difference a day makes, 24 little hours - I bet you are all singing along :rotfl: Friday started grey & cloudy but turned into a lovely sunny & warm day - blue skies & fluffy white clouds & temps up to 28C
Breakfast was delicious - bacon (the pig must have been enormous :rotfl:), sausage, egg, tomato, baked beans, mushrooms & fried bread + toast & marmalade & as much coffee as you wanted. We left just after 10:00 a.m. & headed off to St Mary’s Church, Rhosilli on the Gower Peninsula - lovely church & spectacular view of the coast & Irish Sea :D Then travelled to see the Battle of Gower Memorial Stone - DH trudged across a field to take a photo whilst I picked blackberries :rotfl: Next stop a covered well & more blackberries, then bikers cafe (West End Cafe) in Llandovery - where DH had a Drovers Pasty & I had the most glorious biscuit based cheesecake - delicious 🤤 Then a Millennium cairn & time capsule & finally a Chain Bridge. Arrived in Usk about 6:15 p.m. Great pub, lovely room, good beers, spectacularly delicious 😋 food & really friendly staff. DH had Welsh rarebit then a pork burger with pulled pork, coleslaw & thrice fried chips. I had a double baked cheese souffl! with a red currant sauce & Seville Orange glazed duck breast with kale & pur!ed sweet potato. I apologise now for what I am about to write :o my food was org*sm*c :rotfl: DH & I had plenty of beer & lots of conversation - our last night away is always the same :p

    Roll call of animals/birds seen:
Friday: cows, sheep, horses, Welsh ponies, a hawk (DH), sparrows, ravens, jackdaws, magpies, butterflies, 2 llamas, bumble bee, 2 sheep (plastic) & 3 dinosaurs (plastic). RIP - 4 hedgehogs, 2 squirrels, a fox, an unidentifiable animal, a bumble bee :(

Single track lane meetings - a tractor towing a trailer of hay, 10 horse riders.

Strangest signs - ‘Chips Ahoy’, ‘Defy Time’

Lovely sights - seeing families swimming, canoeing etc in the river, the Welsh countryside, The Brecon Beacons.

    2799 - 2805 Plastic bottles - Recycled

Well Done :- TC77; TamsinC - 3rd time lucky ;) & obviously the correct choice for you at this time to declutter the idea of a new puppy :T; Barny1979; Cherryfudge; villagelife; oceanspirit; choille :T:T:T:T:T:T:T

ailz95, I really feel for you :( Bad enough that you need to declutter, but worse that your DH is teasing you with promises of decluttering  Could you send him out for the day before bins are emptied & just blitz whichever area - bin, recycle, cs bag (hide until you can deliver :rotfl:) Then deny all knowledge & claim the decluttering fairy came & sorted it all out :rotfl: :p

Our last night in Wales, so will post from home later today.

Happy decluttering one & all :p

Oh MrsSD when you were in Usk you were within spitting distance of me, I could have met you at Chain Bridge :( And yes I was singing along, out of tune mostly. Who said all Welshies could sing...... well they hadn't met me :rotfl:

Nothing much extra decluttered today only daily stuff, but have recluttered the DGS :D. He wanted to come here this afternoon as his sister was having a play friend over. He arrived bringing his overnight stuff too as he thought he may as well make a night of it . Unfortunately didn't give me time to lock up the fridge or the food cupboard.......... honestly he must have hollow legs :rotfl:No wonder he's almost as tall as me and he's not 10 til next week !
ailz95 my DH likes to clutter too and always says they are things that he needs to keep "justin". However I am trying to train him surreptitiously ;) Please don't get downhearted as one day things will start to happen.
night night all, don't let the bed bugs bite :D

    nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently
  • Deciding to get rid of stuff is always a problem for me so I have decided to get rid of an almost new Remington Hair Wand and an almost new Boots hair straightener. My hair is short now and I still have some tongues and a battery operated set for if I need to look good when away from home - do not need now but another JIC item. Now I have to decide if I should put them on a local Sale or Free site. I do not really want to just give away but I know what I am like, will just keep holding on.
  • I really liked the concept of a bag a day . I would like to join it and apply in my real life .

Shame about the puppy but if you're not completely ready then it's a good decision and hopefully you at least got to fuss lots of adorable puppies.

I started my, hopefully, mega declutter weekend yesterday with the following items ready for recycling, bin, donate or tip in the next few days

12 boxes that I had been storing for a guy called Justin. Watch out for him everyone as he's always on the lookout for someone to store his things for him. His full name is Justin Case :rotfl:

I also binned a pair of boots that are well past their best and have donated a handbag, 3 items of clothing, a candle, a tea light holder with 2 tea lights and a large stash of stationary.

I will update today's offerings tomorrow.

Happy decluttering everyone but also take time to enjoy the lovely weather.
That money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"
