Ok, this is going to be a strange post but stay with me. For some strange reason, no actually while I was researching vacuum cleaners, I became a bit obsessed by a couple of vacuum collectors on YouTube particularly Ibaisaic and hooverlux. Yes I know it's odd but it is what it is. Anyway Ibaisaic did this video about vacuum of the month using the same one all month then weighing what was picked up. This man's house is spotless, I mean almost clinical and he was getting between 95 and 330 grams of dust over the month. So my mind got to wondering yesterday........I wondered how much my old Henry would get in a month here (probably about 15lbs . I detest vacuuming so it's not done as often as it should. Today I've decided on a big floor declutter and a new bag in henry tomorrow to see what I get over August. I will post my result shamefacedly at the end of next month. This is going to be interesting. I'm planning on vacuuming every other day downstairs and once a week for the stairs and upstairs. Oh I forgot to say he uses the dusting brush a lot too for pictures, skirting, etc so I have to remember that too.. Whatever happens the house is going to look better and as I continue to declutter new dusty/hairy areas will be revealed.
Can someone please explain what's wrong with me.
I dread to think how much fur and dust would be in my house. I vacuum almost everyday and the vacuum is full. I have 5 pets and it is a constant battle!:rotfl:0 -

Was it turbo lister?
I've found the forum on ebay quite helpful.
Yay thats the one, many many thanks, will get onto it immediately.:j:j:j:T:T:T
Looked for Turbo Lister and it was discontinued inFeb !!!! Got onto EBay to see if they had called it something else but no, just the one like a spreadsheet. Looked on Google and tried to see about similar but still no good so am trying to get some better instructions on how to use their own. Ah well, but thanks for your help.0 -
Back in after some time out, mostly doing the allotment, travelling around a bit, Venice
.
Not much decluttering although I have removed a big sofa chair from my DD room to be given away and a few items (posh suit carrier and binoculars) to the CS on Sunday.:T:T:T
A lot of free food added to the stash today. Pizza mix, pizza base, tomatoes, oranges and lemons plus lots of spices and about 500g of star anise. I am expecting some blocks of cheese tomorrow. All this is from my DS3 who works in a kitchen that closes down for the summer and all of it will go out of date or has been opened. Lucky us.
We have a big chest freezer and a small freezer in our american style monster. The american monster has stopped working except the drinks fridge bit, again lucky as they can't come until Tuesday next week to fix it.:eek:Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Sorry about the lost post Mrs SD, very annoying indeed.
parsniphead, you'll have a clean and tidy home in no time. The keen interest in vacuuming will probably go away once you feel back on top of things and your focus moves elsewhere.
Having the new daily target is helping to keep me motivated to do something even when I don't feel like it.
Today's decluttering:-
1 x magazine from 2000 recycled
22 x booklets about wine recycled
3 x notes from a course done years ago

Dear All,
Thank you once again for the best wishes to the Gem-gem household. Hubby is continuing to improve. Very pleased with his progress.
I popped into work for two hours for a meeting this morning which I didn't think that I would be doing.
Binned / recycled - various potions, lotions and tablets from the first aid/ medicine box.
Loads of paper recycling from the office.
Did out my work bag - bits binned.
Cleared side table in lounge.
Finally finished sewing my washable make-up pads. Also earned a hole in a fine knit top. Finished off a small reel of cotton. Cotton reel binned.
Shared out with neighbours some cabbage greens. Took a friend a jar of jam and two courgettes. Later in the year I am going to have free pick from her apple tree. Payment is to make my friend an apple crumble.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

parsniphead, seeing as you asked, I've no idea what's wrong with you but YouTube can do this to people.
Gem-Gem, I'm glad to hear your husband is making good progress.
Mrs SD, what a shame about the post that you lost, I'm sure we all feel for you. But thank you as ever for the cheerleading, I do look forward to it.
A few bits gone today: 3 broken plant pots from the garden, then a jar of too-spicy curry and some too-salty stock cubes to my daughter's partner, some rank potatoes to the compost heap and a bag full of towels, tea towels and face cloths rehomed with DD's partner (they were theirs anyway and had been accidentally left when they moved out). I don't know how many of these there were but I remember two face cloths, two tea towels and three towels so I'll be content with those.
I can see a number of food items, dry goods in particular, which have been around a while, so I'm going to embark on trying to use some up.

Hello fellow declutterers.
I've been shopping this morning and decluttered the packaging ( a lot more than I believe is necessary  ) into the correct bins. I came home to find a new shiny cs bag on the door mat :j. I was super excited about it.... Oh deary me! I must get a life :rotfl:. Anyway the bag goes out Friday and I've almost filled it to the top with a myriad of unwanted ( by me ) things :T. Hopefully someone else can get pleasure / use from them.
Keep up the good work

I did sulk for a bit but then decided to start knitting a matinee coat :rotfl: So I will try again now
Tuesday was rain, rain, rain. Got up late & decided to start knitting & clearing down more programmes from the planner. For dinner we finished the hm bolognese that I made Monday.
Wednesday I was up late again. Very cloudy, some short showers & windy so every now & again the clouds get blown away :T & we see some blue sky & sun :T Another lazy day - knitting & TV watching

Well Done on the decluttering short_bird :T Re the selling stuff, perhaps ask yourself if you are doing it because you enjoy it or maybe it is a necessity or you just think you should? I am lucky that I don’t need to sell items but in my case I am just exceedingly lazy
Happy Kitties you are receiving a Gold Star ⭐️- keeping a decluttered space free of clutter - very gratifying isn’t it :T
Welcome aboard the Declutter Bandwagon CEW - we love to see new facesYah boo to the ex OH - grrrrrrr. Looking forward to reading about your decluttering successes
