Up at 8:30 - mug of tea & cleared down another series off the planner. Then thought as it was such a nice day - clear blue skies, warm sunshine but with a cooling breeze - I should actually drop off the 2 large bags of ‘stuff’ (previously enumerated) at the cs/cs clothes shop & drop off a large bag of ‘stuff’ at the pharmacy + call in at the P.O. to stamp & post an heavy letter to DSisil & get some cash
+ a small sm shop including a new oven glove
Why does every single pharmacy I have been into have to be persuaded to take not required/ood/unused medicines  Got all my tasks done & dusted by 2:30 p.m. DH has just arrived home & is unpacked & almost everything put away - my laundry bag has more washing but not a full load - so will not do today.

Where were we? Ah, right, taking on a second job and doing quite a lot of volunteering.
Now it's gone quiet and occasionally cooler, I've had a bit more energy to do stuff.
2 blurays, 8CD's and 16 books have gone to a company for cash (kaching!) add a box and packaging out for 30 items gone. 7 books, 2 CD's, 6 DVD's and 20 records have gone to a charity shop.
10 items out of the fridge, was off my food and had overbought.
5 hotel toiletries used up sooner rather than later.
So that's 80 gone: add that to the 265 already gone and that's 345 in total.
I'm having a rethink about selling stuff to online retailers. Given how long it took me to identify the 26 items they'd actually buy, not to mention the "I bought that for how much" factor
and the packaging and the carrying
and the almost having to be Very Stern with the person at the shop who said "the label was printed too big and that's why it wouldn't scan" when it's the same size label as it's always been...
(and breathe)
is it actually worth it? :rotfl:‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

261-271 clothes and rags to clothes recycling. I'm sure there were more than 10 items but couldn't be bothered emptying the bag to count! Just nice to get the bag out of the house, it's been sitting in the room for ages.
272- massive amounts of cardboard out of the house for recycling. The recycling men must love me. I'm sure the stuff breeds:D
273 brochure I was keeping for god knows why, haven't a clue?!! Now in recycling.
274 box of laxative out of date and useless anyway!:rotfl::rotfl:
275 bags of plastic wrappings taken to Tesc@ recycling point
276 random piece of plastic tubing found in back store cupboard-recycling
I've been out of action but I'm sure I have done more than Ive realised as the kitchen worktop dumping ground has remained clear for a start!!!
Will be strict with myself and stick to the above totals for now.Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi All,
I haven't posted on this thread before but have read every post to date.
A little about me. I started decluttering about 4 years ago using the Kon Marie method and managed to get then OH on board. Unfortunately he then decided to kondo our relationship leaving me with a house full of largely his clutter.
Slowly working through everything and all the areas I have completed tend to stay relatively clear. Lots more to go but I will get there.funkyfunkymonkey wrote: »Hello, I haven't been on MSE for sooooo long - I've lost touch with where to find things...
I am in the process of decluttering and have found some dusty old stuff in the loft....
I have a brochure and labels from Vintage Cash Cow - does anyone have any experience of this company - good or bad - or is there another thread/forum you could direct me to?
Many thanksFFM
I recently sent a fairly small box of items to Vintage Cash Cow and was pleasantly surprised at the service. Once they had checked the items, a couple of days after they received them, they phoned me to offer a price with some explanation of how they had come to the figure. They then checked if there was anything I wanted them to return to me and asked how I would like to be paid, cheque or direct to bank account. Direct payment was made the same day. The amount they paid seemed reasonable and was certainly better than the items sitting there gathering dust.
Hope this helps

Recalculated how many items need to go each day to reach target by December 31st - 10.66.
So, I shall aim for a minimum of 11 to allow for days when I'm not able to do any at all.
Today's decluttering:-
2 x stickers binned
1 x book recycled
4 x postcards recycled
1 x card recycled
1 x piece of paper recycled
3 x membership magazines - going to rellie who reads them
total for today - 12Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Quick post just to say:
356-385: 30 items bagged up and in the boot for CS
386-390: 5 items to recycling that have been on the worktop for weeks!
I think I need to shift a minimum average of 12 items a day to reach my 2019 in 2019 target, so going to crack on tomorrow!
Well done de-cluttering everyone!

Morning all.
I've copied this from my diary. Please don't judge me.:rotfl:
Ok, this is going to be a strange post but stay with me. For some strange reason, no actually while I was researching vacuum cleaners, I became a bit obsessed by a couple of vacuum collectors on YouTube particularly Ibaisaic and hooverlux. Yes I know it's odd but it is what it is. Anyway Ibaisaic did this video about vacuum of the month using the same one all month then weighing what was picked up. This man's house is spotless, I mean almost clinical and he was getting between 95 and 330 grams of dust over the month. So my mind got to wondering yesterday........I wondered how much my old Henry would get in a month here (probably about 15lbs . I detest vacuuming so it's not done as often as it should. Today I've decided on a big floor declutter and a new bag in henry tomorrow to see what I get over August. I will post my result shamefacedly at the end of next month. This is going to be interesting. I'm planning on vacuuming every other day downstairs and once a week for the stairs and upstairs. Oh I forgot to say he uses the dusting brush a lot too for pictures, skirting, etc so I have to remember that too.. Whatever happens the house is going to look better and as I continue to declutter new dusty/hairy areas will be revealed.
Can someone please explain what's wrong with me.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%
