  • 196 Decorative metal tin - really tried to find a use for it, but it's a little too deep and not really big enough for anything.

    Yarn used - 5 balls

Oh goodness - haven't posted since February!!! Decluttering has been a bit on the back-burner due to redecorating, work and other stuff but almost managing not to undo all the good work last year by dealing promptly with packaging, post, recycling and generally moving things on. I haven't been counting everything which has left the house either, just the stuff which lay around annoying me :D

    197 Shorts (cs)
    198 Birthday balloon (from November)
    199 2018 diary
200 Electronic wotsit (nope - none of us know what it was or where it came from :rotfl:)
    201 Old dictionary
202 to 203 2 wee perspex drawers (this was a dressing-table item for holding knick-knacks - kept the little box they slid into - turned on its side it is ideal for holding tubes of things, such as puree, in kitchen cupboard).
204 to 209 6 pillowslips (OH took them to polish bike n'stuff)
210 - 218 sheets and duvet covers (to animal rescue centre)
    219 to 222 make-up and perfume (uu)
223 to 225 Holey clothing (bin)
226 to 227 ppw for flatpack stuff (counted as it had to hang around while damage was resolved) and OU.
228 to 229 3 ornaments and bits (cs)
230 to 231 plastic food containers (recycled)
    232 to 234 make-up and candle (uu)
    235 returned parcel
236 Bag of felt scraps (to school)
237 to 245 assorted of items in bin
246 Bath bits and bobs (bin)
247 to 248 Plastic glasses and broken container (bin)
    249 Calendar
    250 to 251 2 mirrors (broken / damaged)
    252 Plastic tubs
    253 Make-up (uu)
    254 Insulated cup (cs)
255 Plastic drinks bottle (bin - smelt funny)
    256 Another diary
257 to 258 Newspapers and more bedding to animal rescue
    259 Sticky notes pad
    260 Toy
    261 Cash box
    262 to 264 Books (cs)
265 to 267 Very conservative estimate - kitchen drawer. Place mats, coasters, takeaway menus, 'stuff'.
268 to 269 metal flask and a cup
    270 Make-up (uu)
    271 Electric coffee grinder (broken)
272 Teapot (although tbh, while the decision has been taken to get rid of this, it's yet to leave the premises :( )
273 to 274 2 wee strings of lights (cs)

I've got more, but that will do for now - be back soon. :)

Well done to everyone still ploughing through their stuff :T:T. Good luck to all and (((hugs))) to anyone who needs it - best wishes.

Not much done today. Finally finished those darned curtains. Finally; two broken needles, one re-gig as made one too short (read a 3 as an 8 on the tape measure), lots of unpicking, one pair of blunted scissors, a very patient hubby hanging them up and taking them down again, and a fabulous £35 Ikea sewing machine. Just general recycling done.

I've been away for a few days doing some clearing at the house that used to be Mum's and am very proud of what I achieved - I may as well show off as I'm not likely to do so much in three days ever again! :D
So... I kept a list as I went along. My previous total was 1058 this year which puts me a bit behind where I need to be if I'm to be free of 2019 items this year. I don't count ordinary rubbish or everyday recycling, I only count things that have been around more than a day - or in some cases, decades. The list goes like this:
    seat cover (perished)
    wall planner
    pen lid
    hair bobble
    Plastic bags (12)
Paper decisions (whether one paper or a wadge, every decision is counted) 43
    2 magazines
    book (to my sister)
    sprig of alder cones
    Lamp to DS2
    2 bar stools to DS2
    ottoman to DS2
    some broken glass
    2 newsletters
    a paperclip
    cable casing
    4 trays (beyond use)
    piece of netting
    5 boxes
    drinking straw
    tiny carpet scrap
    lipstick
    base of a broken drawer
    ironing board (rusted into holes)
    veg rack (rusty)
    spade (broken)
    plant pot
    biscuit tin (rusty)
    badly broken dining table
    2 sardine keys
6 umbrellas (been stored in a garage and were in shreds)
2 roller blinds - again from the garage - very damp)
    2 brooms - worn out
    paint tin
bike found in garage and past useable
    tote bag
    lamp
    lampstand
    shelf
    pair of cupboard handles
5 bags dried flowers given to a friend
    larger piece of carpet.

I think that's 116 new items, so my new total is 1174. Coincidentally, that's put me back on target - amazing. :)

Keep up the good work all of you - seeing your posts helps me keep at it.

Thunderstorm in Cheshire in the early hours of Wednesday morning cooled our hotel room - very slightly :( The decor was excellent, the bed comfortable & the wet room/bathroom was a decent size but only a small porthole window & no air conditioning  Really tasty full English breakfast & several cups of coffee. Then packed, loaded the bike & were on the road by 10:30. Slightly overcast & definitely cooler but got hotter & hotter as the day progressed. Managed to get all the landmarks listed. We travelled through the following counties (not in order :rotfl:) :- Cheshire, Staffordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire & Northamptonshire - just the 12 then ;) DSis was fast asleep on the sofa when we got home at 8:40 p.m. ;) We unpacked the bike, made coffee, put the 1st load of washing on - DH’s motorbiking trousers (very sweaty & smelly ), put away shoes, wash bag & electrical items - all before DSis woke up :rotfl: She had bought loads of salad stuff, cold meats etc - so dinner was sorted. Did 2 more wash loads & put everything out on the whirligig & left it out overnight as the forecast for Thursday was hot, hot, hot 🥵 Up at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, put the last load in - everything was dry from Wednesday so armour put back in, couple of sewing repairs done, everything folded & put away. The last load of washing dried quickly & was folded & put away. DH went to sm & bought loads of soft drinks - so garage fridge is full again ;) Buffet style salad for dinner. It was sooooo hot that did nothing else :o Friday started a lot cooler with quite a bit of rain on & off all day but got muggier as the day went on. Last 2 crates of DSis’s stuff from France have been relocated from the dining room to the spare room of doom. However I did start on one of the crates full of photos - got rid of ALL the negatives & several of the photo packets. Dinner was chicken fried in butter, with salad & boiled potatoes.
One annoying thing whilst we were away :(all six of my beautiful home grown lettuces died :(but one of the gladioli is in full bloom :T

Numbers over Wednesday, Thursday & Friday:-

2333 - 2372 Twenty three drinks cans, four plastic bottles, 2 magazines, newspaper, 2 Cardboard boxes, cardboard packaging, uu plastic detergent bottle, 2 booklets, 0.5” personal paperwork, egg carton, 2” pile of empty photo packets - Recycled
2373 - 2381 Three bags of kitchen detritus, 2 non recyclable plastic bottles, 4 bags of negatives - Binned

I love reading about your biking adventures Mrs SD. :) In another life that would have been me, but DH worries about bikes so I have left that one alone and am enjoying it vicariously. :)

You must have been completely baked, though - what a time to be in leathers!

Parsniphead are you still in the wardrobe ? Do you want me to send in the search party or just the Jack Russell with a flask of tea around his neck ? :rotfl:
MrsSD hope you had a lovely time. Sorry about your lettuces :(
    Bunty well done you :T
Cherryfudge blimy what a list ! Well done to you too :T
Not much going on chez nous, this heat is telling on me. I like the sun but not this heat as it makes me cough and wheeze. It also saps the energy, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :rotfl:.
Our wardrobes are stuffed so I have sorted out some clothes, put some to one side ready for a decision and binned a total of, wait for it ..... one T. shirt . Oh woe is me, I've definitely let the side down :(.
Never mind it's another baby step forward I suppose :o.
    Take care all
    nan xx
PS forgot to mention that DD gave me some flowers and I put the pretty paper straight into the bin instead of into the crafting stuff !! Thanks to all for making me do that :A.
