Just one but has taken A lot of work

    674 DH accounts to accountant.
  • Thank you bit by bit so very much, have copied and pasted all web sites for future use, I had heard that they send to Africa (or some-one does) and that is what I was hoping for.
Man came for an item yesterday wiuth his young daoughter and she liked so many other items that they took abou 8 items. He has been before and is interested in some glassware but the rest of the sets are still in boxes upstairs so will have to wait until some-one big and strong can bring them down for me to unwrap, I will then contact him again. Am feeling very positive. Thanks all.

    Evening all
I have been up to my Dad's today, giving his house a good clean from top to bottom and changing his bed. I am dismayed at the amount of his clutter :(. I did manage to pry from his hands this years fathers day card ( still on show on his dining table :o ) and 2 plastic bowls, which had lost their lids and were found in his airing cupboard ( ? ). I've also noticed lots of stuff in his cupboards / wardrobes like kitchen pots, pans, bowls etc but at the moment he's resisting the idea of getting rid....... just in case someone needs them ! However there's only me and my DD and we have enough stuff of our own. I tried to tell him they could go to charity, but it fell on deaf ears :(.

From chez nous I've put 2 empty shower gel bottles into the recycling ( I've asked DH to throw them out several times before, but they were still there in the bathroom . )

I need to get my act together as I don't want DD to be left with as much stuff as my Dad will be leaving for me.
Sorry for my depressing post. I hope normality will be resumed after a good nights sleep.
    nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently

Clothes Washing liquid big container recycled.
Soap nuts arrived two days ago. Ready to use when the small coloured liquid runs out. Haven't used them before so only bought a small bag that will do about 100 washes.
Used a bag that had slippers in to put the dust / dirt in from the hoover.
    Recycled three hangers.
Recycled small bits of cardboard in slippers.
Deleting unwanted files from the computer.
    More unwanted emails deleted.
    Deleted some contacts from email.

A quick update from me. After two weeks of trying to sort as much rubbish as possible from the house in preparation for the gas mans visit he only went I to the cellar and kitchen. Last year they looked at every radiator in the house. Oh well at least I have made a massive move on when it comes to clutter. I still have plenty to go at but each day it seems easier to clean.

I invested in a spray mop a couple of weeks ago. Much easier than the mop and bucket. Also its easier to store. Im glad i didnt get the v1leda one a few months ago.

I'm still pondering the new stick vacuum. They are expensive and but seem worthwhile. I have said to myself if I continue with the decluttering and keep it tidy I will allow myself one. Plus easier storage again unlike henry.

I'm currently sat in the hospital waiting for an appointment and pondering what area to attack next. I have to plan things around DS as he struggles with me throwing stuff out. I need to get the house looking normal or he will end up a hoarder like his mum.

    Next Tuesday I have a big tip run planned. I can't wait :j. What a saddo...:rotfl:.

Anyway must go. Keep on keeping on. Have a good Friday. X

Hi ladies and gents! I was last here in Sept 2018 but my workload increased quite a bit (i'm self employed so it is my own doing) so i didn't have much time to post or declutter. As such some new clutter has accumulated around the house which i need to tackle. So here i go, starting from 1 again :)

Apologies for not posting yesterday - not because I was busy but just because I was lazy :p
Thursday was OK weather wise but still no rain :( Spent a couple of hours in the garage with DH retidying & finally found the AWOL nozzle for the builders vacuum :rotfl: DH has also replaced the netting on the plant cage - now has chicken wire. The pigeons are not bestpleased :rotfl: He has also given both motorbikes a rinse. DH finally found a bit of wall space in the garage to put up his two home made hammer racks :T He only has the 12 hammers/mallets :rotfl: boys & their toys :rotfl: but he does assure me that they are all for different jobs ;)
I cooked us cheesy beans on toast with a fried egg on top, but burger & chips for DSis. I have also made a good start on the baby cardigan - a pale grey. I have finally got back into the habit of doing the washing up before going to bed :rotfl:
Friday is cloudy but warm. DH is planning to cut the beading/coving to size for the hall & cloakroom but glue down on Sunday & also planning to wash & wax both motorbikes.
My plans for the day include a small sm shop then am making a mayonnaise-free potato salad & a focaccia to take to the neighbour’s BBQ tomorrow. Might also do some more knitting :p

2199 - 2211 Three drinks cans, 2 empty beer cans, 2 newspapers, plastic bottle, 2 food cans, 2 boxes, paper bumph - Recycled
2212 - 2216 Bag of kitchen detritus, broken takeaway container & lid, 2 small bags of lo flooring, large plastic bag - Binned
2217 - 2221 Two rotten planks from decking, 2 large plastic pieces from top box repair, broken chisel - Tip Bag

Well Done to the following :- gilly1964, having a friend to talk to is a blessing - they often see things totally differently :); villagelife - You should count as TWO - accounts done + worry/stress gone :rotfl:; whmf00001, a Gold Star ⭐️ to add to your positivity :T - you are becoming a dab hand at releasing more than one item at a time :T; now, now nannywindow :naughty: - not depressing reading at all - just life ;) Re your dad’s clutter, could you enlist your DD’s help - I believe granddads usually have a soft spot for their granddaughters ;) & She May be able to nudge him in the direction of getting rid of clutter :D Meanwhile I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ for all that cleaning. Now as far as DH is concerned - does he have an office, garage, shed that is his sole responsibility? If so, when you ask him to bin something & he doesn’t just relocate the offending item to HIS space :rotfl: it might concentrate the mind :rotfl: I sometimes think that other members of our households think there is a ‘Decluttering/Tidying/Cleaning Fairy’ who pops in & does the work :rotfl: So keep up the good work & feel free to come on the thread & get things off your chest - we are here to support & encourage each other towards our Clutter Free lives :D. A word of caution, please look after yourself & do not try to do too much - remember it has taken years to accumulate the clutter :(; Barny1979; Gem-gem Good luck with the soap nuts; villagelife - I hope you didn’t throw out your house keys :rotfl:; ooh a Tip run parsniphead :rotfl: you are not a saddo :naughty: - I believe my DH takes great satisfaction in chucking things away in the various skips etc :rotfl: sadly I can’t go as he loads up the motorbike with rubbish so there is no room for me :( A new stick vacuum is a nice reward to look forward to after all your hard work :D - :T:T:T:T:T:T

Welcome back Rose Crow - Nice to see you again :D I imagine it is very difficult to turn down work if you are self employed - so you are quite right to concentrate on that rather than decluttering ;) Anyway now you are back with renewed vigour ;) How about a target of 172 = days left in 2019 :rotfl: Good luck :D

See you all later - to report on progress or lack thereof :rotfl:
