186 - three wheelbarrows - yes, wheelbarrows filled with plasterboard off-cuts and taken up the track to the bin.

189 - 3 big boards smashed up for firewood & in bunker.

These were all from upstairs build & OH had just chucked them out of the window, so I thought it was about time they were dealt with.

191 - two things sold & posted but bought some lovely tops in a CS for a few pounds.
  • 1. SMALL TASKS WILL BE DONE ASAP
    2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
    3. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
    4. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S ?’
    5. IF I WAS STARTING FROM SCRATCH, WOULD I BUY THIS?
    6. BE LIKE A POSTAGE STAMP - STICK TO ONE THING UNTIL YOU GET THERE

Very cloudy all day & no sun but also no rain :T Definitely cooler though - I hope that isn’t the end of summer :(
DH & DSis have completed the flooring in the cloakroom - now just waiting for the special coving. It already looks wonderful but feels a tad strange underfoot as it is the click’n’lock type flooring just laid over the top of 20 year old linoleum :o Now just need to get a new toilet roll holder, new towel holder & a small bathroom cabinet - just to complete the transformation :rotfl:
No decluttering again ;) but I finished the small baby blanket (in basket stitch which is my new favourite :rotfl: ), fed & watered the workers :rotfl:, finished my competition entries & read the magazines, did ALL my sewing repairs, cooked dinner - sausages (Sorry BoP :p) with mash & baked beans & am just about to do the washing up :D once I have finished posting :rotfl:

2164 - 2178 Two magazines, cardboard box, glass jar & metal lid, 3 lots of cardboard packaging, 3 drinks cans, empty beer can, 2 food cans, 2 plastic bottles & lids - Recycled
2179 - 2180 Bag of kitchen detritus, several flooring offcuts (only counting as one :)) - Binned
2181 Large lidded plastic yoghurt pot with handle - washed out & repurposed for garage use :T

Well Done to the following :- oceanspirit - glad you have had a lovely holiday & have returned with new decluttering vigour :T - exciting times indeed :rotfl:; short_bird - still plugging away :T; Teresa Dunne - lucky 🍀 you, your own shoe shop ;); whmf00001 - I lurve it - persuading people to take more than they came for :rotfl: + shame about the bras :rotfl:; parsniphead you are getting a Gold Star ⭐️ - Thank you for confirming that we can all look forward to our homes looking normal I.e. lived in but clutter free :T. Fingers crossed 🤞 that no more SHTF ;); Picklepot you are also being awarded a Gold Star ⭐️ for a Clutter free living room & the little den. Good numbers as well :T; gilly1964 - Congrats on the appraisal & well Done on keeping stuff moving out & pennies moving in :T; Gem-gem, keep up the good work especially the email decluttering :T; choille - I hope you decluttered some old tops :rotfl: only joking 🙃 - Well Done one & all :T:T:T

See you all tomorrow - my excuse for tomorrow’s lack of decluttering is that I ‘need’ to start knitting a baby jumper :rotfl: thought I would get my excuse in early :rotfl:

  • Well I consciously broke my New Years resolution of no new clothes yesterday, but it was fine. I purchased a dress I had my eye on for months and it was in the sale. It is a durable fabric and so comfortable I know it will not be wasted.
On the other hand I gave two of my sons hoodies which he has outgrown to another child. I can't complain. I got away for years without buying him many clothes but he has definitely sprouted these past few months.
  • On another topic, I am thinking of investing in a cordless vac. I have used only a brush on my tiled floors for ages so I am torn about whether I really need it or not....

I'm with you on that one Getmeouttabedt. I keep looking but they are so expensive. Plus Henry is still working so I do my need one.

Mrs SD. I'm always in awe of you messages. It would take me forever to type them out.

A day in the sewing room for me while waiting for the gas service. I have a 10am - 2pm appointment so want to use the time wisely. I guess they will come at ten to 2.

Have a fab day all. X

  • Hello

Getmeoutofdebt - I have a Shark cordless vaccum, best thing I ever bought, I had a 2 year old so I'm constantly hoovering, with the Shark it is sooooo much easier. I bought the pet attachment too when I had cats and I think it's brilliant for cleaning small spaces, the car and the sofa, would 100% recommend. I know it is quite expensive but so worth it, I used to have a Henry and the first time I used the Shark I was shocked how much the Henry didn't pick up, my floor felt cleaner too!

So my MH took a turn for the worst the other day and have since decided it would be best to declutter some people from my life and all social media except WhatsApp and texting/calling.

When/If I do go back on SM, I will do a big cull of people I don't need in my life.

Other than that not much decluttering has been going on! Did go through the fridge and get rid of all the OOD bits in there was such a shame I had to throw some meat away. I am going to be making a meal plan today as I have a freezer FULL of meat and just not using it. Hoping that cooking again will make me feel better.
Got peppered steak for tea tonight :D

    C xx

  • Another item collected and another enquiry, from a man, about bras. An enquiry about another item, if I get folks here to collect I try to see if they want anything else. Bras parcelled up after labeling bags and list so are ready for where=ever if they are not taken within the next week or two. The Charity collected 2 bags on Monday but the person who asked about nighties has not been back in touch so will have to take to CS in a while. A whole box of mum's stuff has gone now plus some of mine so my table is almost clear. Will have to get another box down from my bedroom to start on that one next.

Well, I’m not sure whether I have ever posted in this thread, but I have just rediscovered it and you have inspired me to start decluttering and organising stuff before going on holiday next week.

We have a fairly large house, and both of our children have grown up and left home. Their bedrooms are now “rooms of doom”, ie dumping grounds for all the stuff we can’t be bothered to get rid of! I have made a start on DD’s room this morning, moving some of my Brexit food stash downstairs to the kitchen cupboards so that it gets used up before its expiry date. I have so much, but at least it means we have less shopping to do at the supermarket!

I am very pleased that I have made a start - thank you all for your posts, which I really enjoy reading!
