Friday started dry & sunny. We had a mug of tea/coffee, finished loading the bike, waved goodbye to DSis & were on the road by 11:32 :D. Good run to the Tunnel &. Managed to get on a train 20 mins earlier than booked :T France was gloriously hot & sunny & I managed to have a nap :rotfl: Stopped once for coffees & a baguette & were NOT the last to arrive at The Ib*s in St Quentin :rotfl: Showered & changed & then met in a bar across the road - there are 10 of us 4 couples & 2 singles. Couple of beers  then wandered off to find somewhere to eat. Settled on Vietnamese - very tasty 😋 & an added bonus is that one of our group could speak Thai. An extra added bonus was that there was a 4 man rock band playing in the town square- so I got to boogey on down  Le sol brille dans le ciel bleu :rotfl:
A great start to our holiday :T:T

savvy, I do love raspberries - prefer them to strawberries :D

Ladies & gents ooh, er - we came off page 1  It all goes to pot when I am not posting :rotfl: Saturday started off bright & sunny & we were dreading the forecast 36 degrees Celcius  as we were in full motorbike kit ;) However, although it was quite warm it clouded over, so we didn’t fry :rotfl:
It was a 300 mile day to Colmar - but we cheated & did most of it on motorways - peage - not very MSE :rotfl: but was conducive to arriving early enough to have a shower & a few beers before dinner :rotfl: We saw a rabbit, 13 hawks sitting on fence posts & 9 hawks in flight + I saw a stork :D

The hotel we are are staying in (for 3 nights) is 650 years old :p or parts of it at least :rotfl:

Lovely evening - good food, plenty of beer , excellent conversation & I was given a free calvados :rotfl: Only money decluttered

Well Done choille & villagelife :T Paperwork definitely breeds :rotfl: no matter how much you shred there is always more :rotfl:

    Leelad, hope everything is OK?

    See everyone later :D

Sunday has been a gloriously sunny day :D but with a deliciously cool breeze. The hotel is a wonderful place - on many levels round a small courtyard. The lift has floors ‘0’, ‘B1’, ‘1’, ‘B2’, ‘2’, ‘B3’, ‘3’ The other 8 people have gone out on their bikes but DH is suffering after the long ride yesterday :( so we have walked right around Colmar Old Town - all cobbled streets. Colmar is known as Little Venise (stet :rotfl:) & there are motorised punts going up & down the waterway - you have to duck really low as you go under the very low bridges. About midday we sat outside a cafe & had a coffee plus a cold drink & were entertained by 2 accordion players :T - I love accordion music as it reminds me of childhood holidays in Italy :D There was also a mime doing the living statue schtick :rotfl: As my DH pointed out that is what happens when you don’t pay attention at school ha-ha :rotfl: We returned to our room for 30 mins then went for another wander & found somewhere to eat - foie gras, caramelised sauerkraut, tomato & little cubes of ‘jelly’ with toast for me & a plateful of cold meats & pickled sauerkraut for DH. Mine was dlicious & very light :D We were entertained by a cellist & guitarist playing mostly classical bits of music - they were excellent & very deserving of my donation :p We wandered back to our room & DH is currently having a nap & I am sitting in the courtyard regaling you with tales of our holiday :rotfl:.
Will return iPad to room & then potter off to buy a couple more postcards & a bottle of water. May even treat myself to an ice cream :rotfl:

Obviously the weather is really nice in the U.K. so no one is doing any decluttering ;)

    See everyone later :D
