Oh good mrsd I have been sorting some seedlings out, ready to transplant if they get over the ministrations today. Now not sure if I have done right but.. had put soil in more plant pots but I have put torn up cardboard in the bottom of the pots, surley that will rot down??? well, done now so we shall see, I thought it better than the dustbin. Brought some potatoes back in doggy bag from a carvery yesterday so have de-cluttered the roast ones into hm veggie soup and the boiled ones into a potatot salad which I will dispose of tonight.0

Been up in the loft again.
Emptied four lever arch folders full of paper (all recycled). Any undamaged plastic wallets have been rolled and stored for next boot fair. Damaged folders binned. non recyclable items binned. Have about another eight folders to still process.
Also recycled old letters from a school friend (from the eighties!)
I kept back some stamps on envelopes from 1983 / 1984. I wander if there is a market for them?
Recluttered: bought four books in a charity shop yesterday;2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Sunday has been a lovely sunny day & very warm in the sunI sent DH to sm. Bacon sandwich for DSis. Nice chat with Chinese neighbour & I gave her a small jar of my home grown & pickled olives. Apparently she has had an allotment for 15 years - her mil (who lives with them) works it - so a big bag of spinach was donated to us :T So dinner was fried pork steaks, mash & spinach. Completely different taste to shop bought - DH & I are not that fond of spinach but fresh picked was delicious. DSis loves spinach so she was in 7th heaven :rotfl: I also made a pot of soup, which had been zizzed & will be lunches for DH & I for a few days. By the way - no sweetcorn :rotfl:
DH & I spent an hour or so in the garden moving flowers from the table top bed into the ground & transplanting lettuces, spring onions, tomatoes & a solitary red pepper plant from the grow bag to the table top bed. Also planted up a miniature rose into its own pot. DH also treated me to a plant climbing frame & the sweet pea plants are now trained up itVery happy with our handiwork
I am now convinced I have OCD  Did the washing up & am missing not just one but two teaspoonsEnlisted DH & DSis in the hunt but no joy. I have even gone out with a torch to check the compost bin & the shed  Embarrassed to admit that I will now have a sleepless night
Oh well
1463 - 1468 Two cardboard boxes, 2 lots of cardboard packaging, drinks can, empty beer can - Recycled
1469 - 1473 Small bag of general rubbish, 3 large plastic bags (compost, vermiculite etc), plastic plant tray - Binned
Don’t see why the cardboard wouldn’t work whmf00001I am impressed with the doggy bag of potatoes :T
Well Done Barny1979 - keep up the good work :T
Are you sure you haven’t moved into the loft Gem-gem :rotfl:

A few more items to report: it's a shame blades of grass are not generally counted individually, because if they were I'd be a lot nearer my target. As it is I've neatened up some scruffy bits of garden by weeding, clearing bits of path of leaf mould or clipping the undergrowth. I'm counting that as three items because it was quite energetic (and I won't mention that you can hardly see any difference).
I've also rehomed a grate and fireplace accessories from our old fireplace, and chucked out a plant pot holder that mysteriously broke.
So another 5 items which brings me to 613.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)
Fashion on the Ration 2025: Fabric 2, men's socks 3, Duvet 7.5, 2 t-shirts 10, men's socks 3, uniform top 0, hat 0, shoes 5 = 30.5/68
2024: Trainers 5, dress 7, slippers 5, 2 prs socks (gift) 2, 3 prs white socks 3, t-shirts x 2 10, 6 prs socks: mostly gifts 6, duvet set 7.5 = 45.5/68 coupons
20.5 coupons used in 2020. 62.5 used in 2021. 94.5 remaining as of 21/3/220 -
Only a small amount done but went away for a night so something is better than nothing.
468- magazine recycled.
469- bleach bottle used up and binned. I have for some reason about 4 partly used bottles in the bathroom.0 -
Had a go at some more paper clearance yesterday:-
1 book old postcards to CS
9 old used notebooks recycled
1 leaflet recycled
8 files of papers shredded/recycled
I think I was feeling disheartened Mrs SD because even having cleared out so much my little home was even more cluttered than before and I could hardly move around.
Some of the empty boxes will be reused this week and another will go in the loft once repacked so it will feel a great deal better.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -

Good afternoon from a gloriously sunny & warm IoDThe mystery of the missing teaspoons is solved :T DH & I have gone through the recycling Wheelie bin, the rubbish Wheelie bin, the 2 compost bins I used yesterday, the bag of general rubbish that is in the back garden which I empty when full - absolutely no joy
Then I thought I might as well look in the wormery as we had looked everywhere else  & yes you’ve guessed - TWO teaspoons caught up in the spinach trimmings
Now the next time I ‘misplace’ some cutlery I know to check the wormery & then the rubbish bin (where the missing paring knife was found ) first :rotfl: or I could wash up immediately :rotfl: DH has watered the garden, punched 3 extra holes in my belt :T (maybe my trousers will stay up now :rotfl:) & has now taken my DSis to the hospital for a Respiratory Clinic appointment. I am taking the opportunity to descale the kettle (my DSis can drink tea for Europe :rotfl:) DH has just phoned - traffic was appalling so only just made it in time for DSis’s appointment  He is now having a cappuccino whilst waiting.
1474 - 1475 Cardboard box, uu plastic bottle - Recycled
Cherryfudge, Perhaps count 10 minutes of gardening as 1 - will that bump up the numberThe cumulative effect of weeding, tidying etc WILL show eventually
you just need to keep your spirits up until that day arrives
More than one accessory? you can bump up your number again :rotfl:
Well Done on keeping up the momentum villagelife :T
Please do NOT get disheartened oceanspiritWhat is that old saying “darkest before the dawn” - Decluttering is rather like that especially if you follow the MK route
However if you continue with 5 minutes here & there, it is surprising how quickly you will start to notice a difference
It bears repeating - it took years to clutter unconsciously so it will probably take months to declutter conciously
Try not to forget that we are all here to cheer each other on :T
See you later
