Cleared out under my sink and what a task that was, we had accumulated so much junk and had so many bottles of cleaning things that i didn't realise and we kept buying more. plus side i won't need to buy bleach for at least six months

69-74 empty lightbulb boxes into recycling
75-100 general bits of rubbish into bin
    101-104 empty cleaning bottles
105-107 vases for CS as i don't particularly like them and they aren't that great for keeping flowers in
108-110 junk mail through door straight into recycling bin
    DEBT

Thursday was a very lazy day for me but my excuse was I felt grotty all day - I even got my DH to cook dinner - fresh egg pasta in a cheese sauce. It rained on & off all day. Friday DH carried on restoring the scales, DSis did her washing & line dried it, then the 2 of us went shopping. The pharmacy let my DSis down again - still missing one part of her prescription

Morning everyone, I've just watched the recycling lorry take away a stack of cardboard and 4 bagfuls, that is clutter I am never going to see again, very satisfying.

My efforts in the dining room are almost there, just some crockery and ornaments left on the table which I will clear this weekend, I am going to photograph to try to sell them, as soon as that is done I will box them up and put them in the garage. If they don't sell I will have to make 5 or 6 trips to the charity shop to take them in batches due to the weight.

This weekend I am starting on the living room, which really shouldn't take too much time to do, it's the re-educating my lot to take their clutter with them when they leave the room so that it stays clutter free which will be my battle.

My mind is starting to feel so much clearer now that I have started to dispose of so much junk. I have a very busy few weeks coming up at work, I feel I can devote my mind more fully to work now, if I have a heavy day at work I know I can at least shut myself in the dining room with a cuppa to wind down.

So glad I found this thread :)

I'm the same roxie. The more clutter I have the more confused and frustrated I feel In my head. Actually it's probably easier to gauge my mood by the state of the house.

I want to try and declutter some weeds i to the green bin today, well if it could keep dry for two minutes.

I need to go into the front room and continue with the decluttering later. I also need to declutter some fabric into a skirt and possibly a top for a party next week.

But before all that the toilet needs fixing. There's always something isn't there.

    Have a good weekend.

  • Now I can move around my front (junk) room I saw on here someone had set a table with her get rid of stuff so I think I could drag foldup table out of bay and put items to photograh on there, would feel more inclined to move on then. Have a couple of pots with seedlings in on table at moment but could put on windowsill. Found 3 shower shampoo etc cages?? and have hung 1 on wall with 2 small plants in and will try to put others outside too, they never seem to stick on tiles with the little suckers so this will re-use. Is re-use/make a meal from etc the same as de-cluttering?

Absolutely classed as decluttering whmf00001 ;) Clutter is only clutter if it has no purpose/use in your life :) & using up leftovers to make a meal is the correct way to be MSE :D

Keep up the good work :T

Three old photo albums taken to pieces (photos saved in labelled packets, albums recycled/binned). It took ages! Mind you there were 120 pages of album, and I have more still to do.
I also decluttered some baking ingredients into some banana bread - 3 bananas, a carton of mixed peel and an empty cherry carton. Eight to add to my total :)
