Wondered if anyone knew of where I can sell fur coats? I know it's not the right time of year but they are good ones just I'll never wear them.

Hello fellow declutterers, I hope I find you well. If not here's a gentle hug for the group :grouphug:
As DH is away for the day fitting a new mover to our caravan, i have been left to my own devices :j.
I decided to tackle the kitchen drawers as I had to search for the scissors and the drawers are not that big :(. Long story short at least 40 items relocated to their correct places, including 4 sets of gardening gloves, 3 bags of elastic bands, a penknife, a stanley knife and a reel of green fishing wire ( we don't fish so I don't know why or how that was in there  ) Into the bin went 9 items, into the recycling box 10 items and to the cs 4 items, including a magic spiralizer, an olive de-stoner, a pizza wheel and a lone measuring spoon ( tbs size ). None of the latter items have ever been used to my recollection. Next I shall tackle the cupboard under the sink.

Keep me covered peeps 'cos I'm going in and if I'm still missing by this time next week, please send in a Jack Russel with a flask of tea round his neck :rotfl:.
    Take care all.

Ok so where do I start? Is there something I have to do to join in? I like the bad a day idea. What about the things you keep just in case?

thank you wort, I really needed to hear that from someone, I will tackle the sentimental bits at the weekend.

I have had an early finiish from work today and as everyone else is out I am going to tackle the pantry. Just having some tea and toast before I brave it :D

Roxie - re the sentimental stuff, I've never regretted getting rid of stuff , even my darling husbands things. I kept only an item or 2 of jewellery, I have photos and most importantly my memories, I don't need masses of items that probably didn't mean that much anyway. I'm sure they wouldn't want us to be bogged down with stuff. Photograph things if you think it will help but realistically you can't be expected to keep everything. It's hard but keep your head up, and be kind to yourself.
    Good luck.

They're really difficult to get rid of. It might be worth looking on line at where is selling them and see whether they will take them. There are some on preloved and gumtree, or there is this http://www.thelondonfurcompany.com/want_to_sell_fur.htm

I've got one, and everyone says either use it as a throw or take it apart and use the fur to line another coat.

They may sell better online to overseas customers - fur is still a popular option in very cold countries! Even if you don't approve of it, it seems immoral to just bin it.

    1. SMALL TASKS WILL BE DONE ASAP
    2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
    3. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
    4. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S ?’
    5. IF I WAS STARTING FROM SCRATCH, WOULD I BUY THIS?
    6. BE LIKE A POSTAGE STAMP - STICK TO ONE THING UNTIL YOU GET THERE

Overcast today but reasonably warm. DH was up & at ‘em early today as he wanted a bath before his visit to the doctor. He strained his nether regions a couple of weeks ago & was in a great deal of pain :( Dr is arranging for a scan - hopefully quite soon just to make sure nothing seriously wrong but doesn’t seem to think there is an issue :) DSis has finally phoned re her repeat prescription.
I am still in my dressing gown, but have done one load of washing which is line drying - hopefully the rain will hold off ;) I have also polished up - 2 sets of 6 silver coloured coasters & their stands, a silver coloured goblet (which was so badly tarnished DSis thought it was brass :rotfl:) & a miniature brass coloured Egyptian coffee pot shaped ornament. Also cleaned a pretty cloth covered photo frame & am washing an extra large food storage container - all for the CS :D. Am just about to have a quick bath then deliver the last 2 bags to CS.

1353 - 1360 Photo frame, goblet, 2 sets of coasters in stands, ornament, small bowl of stones/crystals for a tea light, small glass prism, large food storage container - CS

Hi emsi_b, sorry I have no experience but nice that you have popped your head over the parapet :D

Well Done - Barny1979; nannywindow - you did make laugh 😂 Talking olive de-stoner - I thought it might be a good idea for my home grown & pickled olives but such a faff :rotfl: - :T:T

Good luck Roxie ;). Sending lots of decluttering vibes :rotfl:

:hello: & welcome Bindaxo, Nice to ‘see’ a new face :D Happy that you have found us :D All you need to do is declutter & post. As I am a nosey c*w, can you let us know a bit about your clutter circumstances? We can then offer suggestions/ideas of where & how to start. Everyone is really friendly & helpful & we are all at various stages of decluttering. There is plenty of experience here :rotfl: - some of us have been decluttering for years :p

See you later my fellow declutterers :D

GreenQueen I think that's what it is. I don't even know where it came from. It's a 2 pronged fork and when you push the handle up, the middle goes in between the prongs IYSWIM.
Bindaxo we all are guilty of having those "justin " items, but we encourage one another to use or get rid. Personally I've got rid of loads lately.

Parsnip - hope the surgery goes well :)

Took a small bag of bits to the charity shop yesterday and did end up buying a few bits but are bits I need (some clothes as the weight has crept on, new chandelier lamp shade - was only £3 and looks so pretty, a few garden bits).

    C xx
