The weather didn’t really improve today but DH did the Tip run & picked up some bits & pieces for the garage. He finished the workbench & also permanently attached his large vice. Affixed a six gang socket to the wall, put up a bike battery charger, a flexible LED lamp & replaced the dingy bulb with an LED bulb. I did zilch, nada, nothing :o
Hm soup for lunch & chicken fried in butter, mash & mixed veg for dinner

939 - 943 Three cardboard boxes, empty beer can, newspaper - Recycled
944 Bag of general detritus from garage - Binned

Welcome to the ‘Decluttering Bandwagon’ dollypeeps :hello: It is never too late to join :D & I am very happy you found us - hopefully we will be able to offer encouragement & shoulders to cry on should you have a hiccup in your quest to declutter ;) Excellent idea dollypeeps - 15 minutes a day - manageable & it won’t take long before you start to notice a difference. So again welcome & good luck.

    Well Done - whmf00001, villagelife, Barny1979, Marpau & Fire Fox :T

Sorry you have been so unwell, savvy - please take it easy until you are fully recovered :)

    You are wicked greenbee :rotfl:

Tomorrow - as the weather is supposed to be quite nice, the 3 of us are out doing touristy things - short boat trip, open top bus tour & then Bodine’s. I think DH wants a day off from sorting out the garage :rotfl:

I have been decluttering a tad too far - oops

563 - Took roof bars that have been sat out front of house since before Christmas to the tip, but should not have done. I thought they were broken but seems not as they are for our current car. Raced there to get them back, but had already been moved into the bigger biffa bin so unretrievable

564 - Bag of wood to the tip

565-566 Bedroom carpet and underlay to the tip

567 - Broken trellis to the tip

568 - Mouldy parmesan cheese to food waste

    569 - Leftover chicken to dog's belly

570 - Xmas Mini Cheddars to my belly

    570/2019

So looking forward to the new carpet going down today, slept on the mattress on the floor for last two nights

    Have a good day all

Decluttering: Two YS organic chicken legs from the freezer, a dented can of organic tomatoes from the Tardis, some freezer-burned garlic, a few sticks of the YS celery and sundry other ingredients into my fast/ slow cooker. Rusty can of chickpeas from the Tardis to be added later.

The 'all-singing, all-dancing' fast/ slow cooker usually just clutters up the kitchen worktop. I'm a bit intimidated by it so barely use it. :(

Sounds as if you won't need to spend much on food for a while Fire Fox!

:o You would think. :o But I am itching to refill the fruit and veg shelf in the freezer!

I've just put in a online order for Saturday morning (I'm away from work for a few days so won't have time to shop), taking into account that I have surgery on my mouth on Tuesday so will be living on soup and ice cream for a few weeks!

Likely 'preaching to the converted', but fruit smoothies are another option if you get bored of soup. A wide variety of frozen/ defrosted/ raw vegetables can go in without spoiling the flavour: beetroot, broccoli, carrot, spinach, butternut squash ... :)

If you've had flu, you have my sympathies. I had it and was surprised how long it took to recover from. Take it easy. Do you want me to call his sister for you?
Thankfully not flu, but slightly similar symptoms, but more laryngitis I think. Have suffered that the last two years, this time have had three smaller bouts of it and keep losing my voice :( Haha that would be funny, but it's okay ta ;)

Hmm I did Sunday afternoon after work, but there's just so much to do, can't take too much time out!

  • Hello everyone,

Savvy - I would just tell him a deadline if he hasn't got it by then put it on ebay as a job lot or something or get someone to come and take it away. Hope you feel better soon.

MrsSD - that's a pain! Hopefully it'll all be sorted now. He would have done it when my dad did as well :) he stopped about 8ish years ago. He doesn't ride anymore but loves bikes still :)

    Dolly - welcome :D

firefox - do you use a soup maker for the soup? I have just got one and not sure if I can put frozen veg in or not haha.

DS is ill again bless him so haven't been on much but have been decluttering the house :D

I sold an old tv unit on FB so that's gone, got 2 bags in the boot for the CS so will probably take them tomorrow as I am off.

Went through my make up and hair bits the other day and got rid of some old bits.

Decluttering is slowing down but that's because there isn't much to declutter now! :D

RE the roof bars I have some on FB that I have been trying to sell for 2 months but no takers :( I'm wondering if Ebay would be better for that sort of thing?

No, I have a stick blender with a few different attachments (puree/ blend/ mash) for soups and smoothies.

I usually let fruit and/or veg in larger chunks (eg. broccoli, strawberries) defrost at room temperature or in the refrigerator first. Anything I have grated (eg. carrot, beetroot) or cut into small pieces (celery) defrosts so quickly it can be used straight from the freezer.

One benefit is that the freeze-thaw process softens fruit and veg speeding up prep/ cooking/ blending time. Broccoli soup stays green! :D Surprisingly a really wide range of vegetables do not need cooking, they are safe eaten raw or lightly warmed through.

    HTH! :)
