Helloooo everyone.. sorry Ive been a little absent, getting in the swing of things with the new job (& hours.. 4am-8am, 4 days a week)
Today was a productive one, bedding washed, on the line and dried x3
Fleeces, cushions and covers all washed & dried in the beautiful sunshine.
Big bag of goodies to my old workplace for their Easter raffle and fete!
Big bag of clothes to the charity shop as I’d emptied the wardrobe, packed away winter clothes and put in the spring ones.. looked through everything and had a bloomin good clear out :T
Posted a parcel of chargers and cables (all for consoles and games machines) to the Get-Well Gamer UK charity. (Posted them my old ipad a few weeks ago too)
One the whole I feel lighter and brighter about things and I’m sure the weather is helping
Thanks for keeping me motivated, you’re a wonderful bunch and I do read everyday, even if I don’t post"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇0 -

Hi All
Here is the latest update from me
Chris Evans has been talking about Marie Kondo all week and thanks to him hubby is now on board too. Hubby even had the cheek to ask why we have not done this before.
I directed him to his underwear all rolled and stored in a vertical fashion, then to his T-shirt drawer, all folded and vertical in colour order - need I say more....
Anyway back to decluttering
340 Broken Stanley Knife
341-345 OH jeans he no longer wears to CS
346-355 OH T-shirts he no longer wears to CS
356 Worn out shoes to bin
(was not cheeky enough to count a pair as 2 items)
357 Broken garden trellis to tip
358-362 Boxes from loft flat packed and added to recycling
363-367 More books to the CS
368-377 Flowers pots to local scout group for their garden
378 Broken garden clock to bin
All the best to everyone

One car load to the auctioneers. It helps with my de-cluttering if I'm getting a little financial incentive. I've discovered I've got about 100 of these low wattage light bulbs that last about 10 years. How I managed to collect that many I'll never know! I wonder if i can sell them on. They're the ones before LED's.
I can recommend an excellent publication to help with de-cluttering. It's titled "Buried in Treasures" published by the Oxford University Press. It's certainly helped me.0 -

That's some hours - your up with the larks in the morning (or could say middle of the night) and
you are so brave -
"packed away winter clothes and put in the spring ones" - never heard of:-
"Ne'er cast a clout till May be out" braver than me, I think.:T
However today was a re-cluttering day for me - saw fantastic bargain for my favourite bedding, so just had to have some - £52 all in, would normally cost about 4 times more than that :money:so feeling pretty pleased with myself. Can't wait to get them on my bed but too cold still. brrrrr

Another beautiful sunny day here in West Yorkshire!£400 settling two household bills in a timely manner. The bills can now be decluttered from my brain and decluttered from my handbag. Slowly getting back on top of my finances. :T
Mrs Salad Dodger you kindly awarded me a fourth gold star for "starting to get on top of [my] finances". Well, there is more!
The next day I see an e-mail from my electricity supplier regarding the 'Warm Home Discount Scheme'. An annual rebate of £140 for those in receipt of a host of state benefits (I have ESA and PIP). Found relevant paperwork. Applied. :T
And the day after that I receive a letter from the same electricity supplier, the 'annual review'. I paid off a huge debt to them in full last Autumn. Before that, did not understand the quarterly formal repayment plan statement. And before that, received numerous warning letters about cutting off the supply. ** Rarely opened any of it (=anxiety).
The 'annual review' letter says am getting a refund of an overpayment: just shy of £400. Completely separate creditors/ bills to what I just paid out, but such a similar amount! :rotfl:
If not for this thread, EVERYONE who reports in, generous healthy hugs from Nannywindow, the unstintingly positive cheerleading of Mrs SD, I would probably not have opened the e-mail, and probably not have opened the letter either.
THANK YOU ALL for reminding me that decluttering extends beyond 'stuff', and that benefits may be intangible (wellbeing).
** I was not communicating with them at all. They have been very good since being made aware of my mental health issues.**Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

I love reading all about the daily decluttering victories going on in all our homes on here. This is such a lovely thread. Fire Fox, the Marie K*ndo thread used to call this woo - that unexpected magic that comes our way once we clear the clutter. So pleased for you!
I have been ill this week but managed 18 books out of the door to the charity shop, together with my rollerblades, elbow, and knee pads and carry backpack. Funny how each acquisition often comes bundled with a bunch of other items/clutter you barely notice you’ve added. I am particularly proud to have released these as after I fell over and lost my nerve I’ve held on to them far too long. i think it was not wanting to give up on my younger adventurous self. They have had two 30 minute outings in the last 10 years. I hope their new owner loves snd uses them and they are happy together. I thanked them too - officially nuts but helps me! Feeling lighter. I am now over 50 but have promised myself if I become a sixty something with the desire to roller blade again I will buy shiny new ones.0
