  • Found 4 "coffee table" books, will check with dd when she bring gs this afternoon if she wants them, if not then Freegle. Have also found 2 v.old paperback cookbooks (cost 3/6 so thats how old) have looked through , 1 is Marguerite Pattern 500 blender recipes the other Catherine Kirkpatrick 500 budget meals (2/6) some good low cost recipes so am going to copy some and then books to CS. Funny enough where it says best way to store foodstuffs, fridge is mentioned but no freezer !!!!

  • Not really decluttering but tidied my CS basket - overflowing with stuff for them and found a list that I had kept of stuff I had decluttered but had lost the will because of RL to post ,but , knowing I would probably be back I had made a list. I suppose I didn't want those few triumphs to be forgotten.

23-27 small hotel soaps used up
. I haven't bought any soap for over a year now and it looks like I have enough for the next ten years.

28 tub of body cream emptied. This cheapo stuff was recommended by a friend but it had a really strong perfume and wouldn't buy again.I felt strong and capable as I used it up instead of binning it.

29-30 two cardboard book wrappers straight to recyc. instead of a drawer for the next few years.
I am pleased about this as I purposely left them cluttering up the kitchen table to make me stick them in the recyc.
Thankyou so much, MrsSD for all your cheerleading you do us all the world of good. I hope your sister gets somewhere positive with her health problems. Here, my circle of French friends refer to health problems as inconveniences, but sometimes that word isn't anywhere near enough. You look after yourself too.

In spite of still feeling yucky, today I enlisted the youngest to help clear up some of the mess in the garden. Green waste bin is now almost full and there's a pile of metal for the tip tomorrow. Also have a buyer for son's old bed so that should go tomorrow. The weather has really helped motivate today!

Good evening Mrs Salad Dodger and fellow declutter's.
I hope that the boot fair season will be opening up soon. I will be out there as soon as possible.
No, I am not part of the first wife's club, but I have seen the film.
I started the day sorting out and checking what toiletries and pampering items I have. When I start a new item, I then go and buy the replacement. Decluttered some cardboard boxes and information leaflet.
The spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon decluttering weeds from our raised boxes and area where the fruit bushes are; laying non smelly manure down. I also dug up all my miniature celeriacs and turned them into cream of celeriac soup - Covent Garden soup receipe. Instead of vegetable stock I used chicken stock. It is delicious.
Hope you have all had a good day.

I forgot to mention the other day that last weekend I went away for a girlie weekend, and was able to declutter a couple of items:
226-227:a bottle of wine and a bottle of Prosecco I had been given for Christmas, even though I don't drink
228-230: regifted a bar of organic soap,a tube of hand-cream and matching *something* (?perfume/liquid soap/something else)

Today I decluttered and deep-cleaned 15yo's bedroom.Mostly decluttered was rubbish-food wrappers, sweet and biscuit wrappers, food containers, scraps of paper.
There were only 2 items I am counting for the decluttering challenge:
231: a toy gun that was meant to go with the Hover Shot game I donated earlier this week
232:a small boxing glove box thingy, looks like it came from a cracker, but I really don't know what it is
233-234:boxes that I had held onto long after I needed to:one for a phone I got in September, and another for its screen protector

Finally got round to "decluttering" the 2 inches of ice from the extra freezer! It's only little so we carried it outside. Should actually be able to put stuff in it now!
    Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%
    Overpayments - £48829.37 :j:j:j
    Mortgage paid off Jan 2020
  • I took a large bag of stuff to the chazzer last week, and there seems to be a bit of a lull going on now.

I'm always on the lookout though, and any unnecessay stuff goes!! I've never regretted any of the stuff that's gone, strangely enough - don't know if anyone else has
  • In between washing and getting the bed sheets out on the line for the first time this year - yippee!- I managed to find a couple of small things to get rid of. A jacket and dress were added to the charity bag and a broken portable grab rail was binned.

There probably won't be much progress today as the 6 year old has a party to go to and that tires is all out! Hubby has taken 3 days off work from tomorrow so we can sort the cellar out so we can actually use the room full of boxes for something useful. I'm excited and slightly daunted at the task ahead.
