2019 - A Clutter Free Life

My decluttering ground to a halt for about a month because I was so unwell with flu-like symptoms.Was never able to get to the Dr,but I had some nasty symptoms,and was so exhausted I was only able to work half-days.Not good when you are self-employed .
My whole house suffered while I was down.Bless my partner and kids -they were very good looking after me,but the house has suffered :eek:.

Today I was able to get to the charity shop for the first time,but first I have things to list that I have decluttered over the last few weeks:

121-123 3 newspapers recycled.I wouldn't mention these if they are were day-to-day recycling,but these had been put away ages ago to use "later" (for wrapping,cleaning,etc),so now I have decided to let them go,I have counted them.

Sorry to have been awol for the last few weeks: things have been busy between work and sorting Mum's house and my DFiL being ill.

I can only think of five things I've decluttered recently and one of those was a jar of almond butter that's been hanging around a while! Another was my second knitting project, so I'm pleased that's done. I haven't touched the dreaded papers but for relaxation I've gone back to a piece of sewing that should be ready for the declutter list in a day or two. Nice when projects turn into practical things that are no longer clutter but useful.

Was inspired with Marie Kondo, KonMari strategy on decluttering would definitely give that one a try. Hoping 2019 will also be a great year.

26-28. 3x more items sold.

Only small things but it's making a difference, at least to my sanity! So far I've made £71 this month from sales, some items were just odds and ends which I got free and would usually have binned.

I'm finding that the more I get rid of, the more I want to get rid of even more stuff. There seems to be no better feeling than taking items to the post office and saying goodbye :rotfl:

Cleaning young lady who is getting together her bottom drawer took mum's crockery away yesterday, I kept back half doz cup n saucers for if the vicar comes to call. I checked with daughter if she wanted any of the glassware and apart from tumblers (teenage son !) she said no as she had lovely stuff for wedding presents etc so cleaner said yes, have started to sort out for 2 weeks time when she returns. Wanted to find books out but got stinking cold so that will wait a day or so ditto indoor TV arial. Was sooo temoted to go to Morris..s as they have soup maker for £35 but because of cold and I can do soup without it I did a mental de-clutter of that. Checking through old PC discs to get rid of them, belong to Win XP and Win 7 so will sort. Think that will do for now, bacon sarnies for dinner tonight, and maybe for lunch as CBA to do much else.

Whilst the boiler man was here (looks like we'll have to declutter £700 for two new parts soon :eek:) I made a start on the paperwork. I bought dividers for the home file a year ago and they're now in. Got a big pile for shredding. Still tons of paperwork to sort but it's a start!

Afternoon all
Beautiful afternoon in my part of the world:j
Cleared out 2 shelves in a kitchen cupboard this morning,some of the items i've washed ready to go to charity shop and some one of my DD'S wants.Emptied another cupboard into a box so i can take it in front room and sort through the recipe cards. Organised all my sharpies,highlighters and other pens and have now put them in a drawer in a newly acquired Kalax drawers.
Also sorting through my plastic storage containers ,still amazes me how lids can loose bottoms and vice versa i have these sat on my worktop in hope that i will come across the partner otherwise they are going.:rotfl:
