Hiya, may I please join? I am currently saving for a deposit for a house and am very close to my target, but very much aware that I have nothing else set aside for an emergency fund, apart from a credit card!
I'm looking to save £5000 to start with - that's 3 months worth of wages/ 6 months of expenses. It'll take me a while but I've just put in £10 to get me going
Save £12k in 2022 = £3705.97/ £7,500 (49%)
Save £12k in 2021 #76 = £11,857.21/ £10,000 (118%)1 -
Hi delta13! I'm in a similar position, in that I'm trying to save for both a house deposit and an emergency fund, but for me it's my house deposit that currently has only £10 in it! Still, that's £10 more than we had saved before, right?3-6 Month Emergency Fund Challenge #41: £1294.25/£90001

Hello Everyone,
As mentioned, my furlough payments were not reduced in April, May and June so a had a huge reduction in my salary for June and had to pause and dip into my Emergency Fund, for June, which I did foresee happening. Reducing June to £1,100.00. The good news is I returned to work on 15 June and today is pay day. I am back on full salary and have put back £600 into the Emergency Fund bringing my total to £1,700.00.
(#8) Emergency Fund Thread £1,700.00 / £12,000
I am so encouraged by the updates of this group, keep up the savings and thank you @Dobbibill for your continued support and work behind the scenes.

Small steps are always better than no steps.I think my signature sums up my inspiration - 'it's not about being the best, it's about being better than you were yesterday'. As long as you are trying to get there, no matter how big or small you can manage then you are going in the right direction.Keep at it - or as I say on here - Keep on, keeping on.All the best.DobbiI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. I got a tax rebate and also was paid for some freelance work, so I have stuck money into my EF and have £700 in there for the moment. I paid off a small loan to my partner so going forward I am going to really try and save as much as I can into my EF.1

Had some extra money to pay in to the bank so that's £460 added to my EF pot! Brings me up to £1419.25 in total.
Hope everyone else has had a good Monday.3-6 Month Emergency Fund Challenge #41: £1294.25/£90001 -
#3 Checking in.Whoops! Looks like I haven't updated in a while!I've been one of the lucky few to have kept my job all through lockdown, and not being able to do my usual hobbies like my weekly music lesson has actually saved me money. My total is now £4475 / £5000.I will be using £3450 of this to get braces in September (been waiting since January) but I aim to keep topping it up as much as possible before then. £5000 is still the end goal!Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!
