Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to work out how much I'm going to be paid this month, I was furloughed in April so I am going to have a hit on my May salary. I get paid on the 10th of each month, I always do my budget for the month on the Sunday before payday.
I may not be able to save as much as I want to, but I am going for £400 into the Emergency Fund when I get paid on Friday, that will be a mixture of the remaining balance for April plus a percentage of my "Pay Yourself First" amount the Emergency Fund.
I am still saving 15% of my salary into company pension scheme, £100 into Stocks & Shares ISA, £100 into Christmas Sinking Fund and £15 into Disney+ and Amazon Prime Sinking Fund. I am not spending any money at the moment and over the past month we have saved £777 a year on our Sky package and £168 a year on our energy bills. We are just leaving the savings in our Mortgage & Facilities account to build up so that we can get 3 months ahead of the bills, this will be on top of our Emergency Fund with a joint financial goal of no longer living pay cheque to pay cheque.
I just wanted to share this here as I know you all understand, when I talk to my friends about this, they glaze over. Thank you for being here for me.
