I'm taking a slightly different approach to this. I have various accounts which I use to pay bills at present, in order to spread out the direct debits to get the rewards. I'm aiming for the 3 to 6 months in each of these accounts. It means some will get there sooner than others, simply due to the amount of money required to meet the monthly payments on each. (This is on top of the £1500 I have sat in an account).
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

This challenge is all about getting there the best way you can. It looks like you have a good plan there with the different accounts and criteria to earn rewards. Keep up the good work datlex.

I have been lucky to find a new lodger so the first rent went to my EF. Future payments will be used for something else, I have some plans to enjoy myself a little bit as being too tight is making me miserable...

Having 1k of emergency money makes me feel at ease. I'm also thinking of getting an income protection plan.

    Happy savings to everyone! :)
