    Nothing!

Except Euthymol toothpaste but that’s only because I can’t stand the taste or smell of mint and there aren’t many non mint toothpaste. (Actually retching at having to type the word mint!)

Oxo cubes and cadburys chocolate as no other chocolate comes close. Also my husband insists on Toblerone ( he says the pound shops ‘twin peaks’ is nothing like it)

I can understand that you like the taste of both - but at c80p per bottle Fevertree is IMHO a complete waste of money.

Agreed. Tho I do like decent tonic, it doesn't have to be fever tree.

    Walkers crisps
    Heinz ketchup
    Heinz beans

Meat has to be from decent suppliers but often cheaper cuts and bargains
Tomato soup has to be Heinz
We buy good cheese and preserves but again go canny
That would have been me a short while ago but...

My friend whoo lives very close to a Lidl insisted that I try their tinned tomato soup.
Being a Heinz snob for many years, I was quite sceptical but we compared the list of ingredients in both tins and Lidl came out favourably.
    Taste?
Well, I'll just say that I won't be buying Heinz anymore.
I don't have a Lidl close to me but there is an Aldi so I'll be trying that.

Potatoes - I won't buy any other than Sainsbury TTD Vivaldi - the baking potatoes make the very best jacket spuds and the mashers don't boil away into the water and make beautiful creamy mash. More expensive than other spuds but worth every penny.

I buy Wilja when I can get them.
Not seen them in supermarkets for years.

    Hellman's mayo.
    Only ever the original Marmite.
Morrison's own brand sort of wettishly dried figs.
Arial washing powder, with vinegar to 'condition.' Every single conditioner makes the conditioner dispenser mouldy, so Just No.
Lavazza decaffinated real coffee. None of the others come close and I drink two litres of it a day.
Good loo paper when it's on offer. Thin stuff :shudder:
OH prefers Branston Beans, often on offer. Kerching.
Country Life butter - OH prefers. I use own brand for baking.
Heinz tomato soup, but thanks to the above I'll try one can from Lidl. (It's now on the list. I love MSE Forum contributors.)
A Panasonic breadmaker, Allinson's yeast and grain and seed wholemeal.
    Total Greek yoghurt (OH again).
Despite my misgivings about it, thanks to MSE Forum contributors again, Stardrops.
Bissel carpet washers and their carpet shampoos - once again, thanks to an MSE Forum Contributor.
Gribble's chipolatas (South Devon butcher; sorry everyone who doesn't live in Plymouth, Ivybridge or Buckfastleigh.)
    Better is good enough.

If you buy a particular gin like Plymouth because you like the flavour, what's the point of adding Sh** tonic?
    I did say IMHO!

Generic tonic is fine, I get 5 x 200ml glasses out of the litre bottle, each of which costs less than 10% of the price of Fevertree...plus I don't feel like I've been mugged off by someone spotting a gap that didn't actually exist. For every marketeer knows that a good story will sell their brand....
