Morning all, It's another damp grey day here but I'm looking forward to heading out for a bit of fresh air and catching up with other family members later.
    To do today
:) More panatone (sp?) for breakfast :)
:) Wash a load on the quick 30 degree wash :)
:) Radiator shuffle and put washing away ready for ^ (nothing should need ironing thankfully!)
:) Gather cheeses, pate, crisps, crackers, banana muffins etc to take with us for lunch :)
:) Shower early to leave enough time for my hair to dry naturally :)
:) Check bank accounts as I know a regular saver matured yesterday :)
:) Open up a new regular saver waiting til the 1st as I want the standing order to go on the 1st
:) Look at sim only deals with dh as he's given notice on his mobile contract :T
    :) Set up January's budget
:) Check balances on all survey sites/cashback sites/gift cards and loyalty cards
:) Won't be a no spend day I expect as we will pop into the little coop near my parents as in previous years we've got some fab ys meat between xmas and new year. Must NOT buy any ys chocolates in there though! No meat or chocolates bought just some ys milk
:) Remember to take the 2 tins of quality streets to my parents for safe keeping changed plans after talking to them, going to put the tins away in my suitcase for Easter when we are all going away together for a week

Thats about it for now. Have a good day all.

  • Morning

I awoke this morning with no voice at all :( this is the latest part of the cold that started on the 14th. Everyone keeps whispering at me, which I am finding annoying.

Both this mornings training, which I take both children to, and the afternoon session which dd normally goes to on a Sunday are cancelled, which will make a very different day.

If I am up for it I would like to make some things with the children.

We have also decided to resume a few lessons this weekend, both children did some yesterday and we will do the same today, gradually getting back up to doing everything. Obviously learning doesn't stop ever, we have just been having a break from the more formal aspects because of illness followed by Christmas.

    Today's small list:
    Make bread
    Make porridge
    NSD
    PAD
    Move money into correct accounts

Hopefully I will add more throughout the day.
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

    One

  • Morning all :coffee:
Up and out early for me to pick up my new door handle and ruin my nsd/pyjama day. £9.98 spent, 1 hour of my time (including drilling) and I have a far from perfect living room door, but it opens and closes which is the important thing.
So, apart from the door handle and hoovering (to clear up the sawdust), today I need to
do yet another load of washing
swallow another frog from my list (I did 3 yesterday, and you're right CLF it really does help)
Try not to eat the tons of chocolate on the kitchen table
make a proper meal of some description for me and the kids (although I really fancy a fishfinger sandwich)
    Crochet lots
Stay on top of the washing up
Have an alcohol free day - I don't drink much but I do need a day off.
Have a good day all :D
  • Hi all

    Please may I join you?

I'm sat at home with a broken foot (15th December, fell over a step) so I've just done 2 of my 6 weeks in plaster. At least it has stopped me from my daily habit of going to the supermarket every day for 1 item and coming out having spent i double figures. It's a shame it can't curb my online spending.

    1. Paid off my Tesco credit card which had a pesky balance on there of £120.02 but I paid that off in full today (not completely debt free as I owe a few hundred quid to Very but it should get paid off over the year).
    2. Tonight's tea is prepped and in the slow cooker.
    3. Spreadsheets updated including new figures for savings goals which are a) Xmas 2019 (£600 - putting £50 away) b) Emergency savings - want to have £4k so will put away £166 a month away and c) new bed - will buy this in post Xmas 2019 sales and will be putting £85 a month away to hopefully have £1000

I feel a bit stuck in limbo though as I won't be doing this until my pay day on Jan 15th so it seems like an age away.
    Emergency savings: £0 saved / £4000 target

    :rotfl:

Check if anything needs using - had a slice of Dundee cake for breakfast to help the effort :rotfl:

I had a slice of Ginger Cake this morning after nightshift and leftover chips the morning before. I do not recommend reheated chips. :rotfl:

    Hi Decemberbest Devotees,

Evening!:coffee: Lovely day off after nightshift. Have managed to haul myself out of bed and take some action.

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    * Check online banking for both of us. Done.

    * Make leftover veg soup after fridge triage: Butternut squash, leek, cucumber, carrot, cos lettuce and rocket. Add curry powder and blend thoroughly. DW didn't detect the Devil's Veg were in there (carrot and cucumber). ;) Will freeze the surplus.

    * Continue with my new Challenge. I am going to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. (There is a charge to use the local pool but I will offset the cost in other ways so there is 'no charge'.) Did 5.5km on my bike along the prom.

If there is no struggle there is no progress.
