    Morning all :)
Just sent OH off to his community group meeting with a tin of leftover HM goodies (biscuits etc so nothing perishable) :)
Bright and sunny today, which is lovely after yesterday when we had thick fog that persisted all day
    Today's plans:
Washing can go out on line, and need to do another load It didn't dry much, sadly, so must get it on the airer in a minute.
Think about taking down the Christmas decs - another one here who likes them gone by New Year! Done, just need to put them away in the loft now, and get OH to help me put the Christmas tree back in the front garden.
Make a turkey and ham pie for dinner :)Done, made a huge one, plenty for another day :)
Thorough check of fridge, to make sure nothing goes off /gets wasted Done
Go for a walk with OH and dog later if it stays dry Done, nice long walk :)
    Checked banks and updated spreadsheet

I'm sure there will be more - back later to update :)

Good afternoon all, its been nice reading up about all your Christmas/Decemberfest news

We had a lovely Christmas with the extended family staying over but its nice to have our house back now our visitors have left. I've not been sleeping well and was up really early again this morning and decided I was going to take one of our two trees down (its in front of my patio door in our little sitting room) but once I started... I now how a totally de-christmased house again, looks much less cluttered and I feel a bit more relaxed ;)

    Other then that today I've
 Checked banking/updated spreadsheet and made a note of a few things that are coming up between March-July that I need to work into the budget in Jan.
 Showered and left hair to dry naturally as usual (continuing using up lotions and potions)
 Left over gammon has been chopped into a split peas/bacon concoction thats in the slow cooker for tonight added in lots of stock from Christmas - it smells lovely!
 Freezer list/kids pocket money lists updated in my bullet journal
 Added a couple of Christmas items (a jumper & a father Christmas shirt) into the charity shop bag as my youngest definitely won't be able to fit in them next year!)
 Sewn a hole in the eldests pajama bottoms before it got too big to fix!
 We didn't really over do it on the xmas food shopping but a buffet style lunch today will finish off the last of a few bits like pate, cheese, salad bits, hummus, dips, crackers & crisps whilst watching last nights Worlds strongest man :D
 When we were out yesterday we picked up quite a lot of chocolate reduced, including two tins of Quality streets, I was laid awake this morning thinking how daft that was, so have checked the date on them and they're dated as bbe 11/19 so won't open the two tins and will pass them to my mum for safe keeping til the Summer as gifts for the school staff and/or the Summer fayre (and update my gifts list accordingly!)
 Moved furniture around and found some fabric that matches the sofa, will use that to recover a footstool

Kids are asking for food so that will do me for now. Take care all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

  • Evening everyone :hello:
Very late check in from me today. Not because I've been mad busy but just because I've not bothered getting the laptop out.
Not a nsd as I had a hair appointment - planned and budgeted for. Other than that though - a bit more batch cooking and using up of leftovers, plus tv and loads of crochet. I know it sounds really boring but it's everything I need at the moment. However, tomorrow I need to get back on with making a list and getting those annoying little jobs done that I keep putting off.
  • Today we had some friends and extended family around for a board games day. Everyone brought contributions of food and games.

Cost to everyone £0 :money: There was lots of laughter. We have plenty of games we didn't even touch today as we were so busy playing others, leaving us plenty for next time :j

Low key entertaining at home works well for OH as he can disappear and have a rest when he needs to.

Think we should start to put the beginning of a structure back in place tomorrow.

  • Morning all :hello:

We had a lovely day yesterday and no spends which is also welcome :T

Lovely to see some regulars back posting. Today will be productive, I’m hoping. Things today will include:

Portioning up last of Christmas meat and freezing
    Going for a run
Look for a kettle bell workout on you tube
Pack away my lovely new plastic free toiletries ready for when I need them
    Vacuum upstairs
Sort out some of the garage, see if there is anything to sell or charity shop
Look for some bullet journal inspiration and start making some notes
Put the money we were kindly given for Christmas all together so I can bank when I’m next in town. And make a note in my book.

Have a great day everyone. Purps.
  • Morning everyone
Many thanks for asking CLF DD is doing alot better. Sleeping alot and still not really eating-u can tell aswell. She is someone who needs a high calorie diet to keep weight on so hoping to tempt her with a small meal today.

LL I'm another one that has picked up alot of reduced chocolate including tubs of quality street-its for DD to take back to uni with her, which between DD and her BF will be demolished in no time. DD has a massive storage box at uni to keep extras in like pasta but to keep stashes of chocolate and snacks to top up calories between meals.

Need to go back to Tesc@ at some point. Went to stock up on cat food cans-still the cheapest place to get them. When updating my spends book I found that they had charged me for an extra pack. I have no way of proving it but will go in and try and sort.

Picked up a few more reduced presents ready for 2019, I will reduce my Christmas and birthday present budgets. Hoping to work out the 2018 year ends today to see how I've done.

Going to pop a leek and potato soup on using my 29p potatoes which I still have loads of.

Really need to start sorting the house out. There is stuff everywhere. Presents have just been dumped in any available spot so planning a tidy up today. Might take down some fairy lights while I'm at it.

Card to pop in the post for last birthday of the year-stamp from RM surveys
Think that's about it. Off to do some cat cleaning.

Have a good day everyone x

Morning purps :D enjoy your day! I had a sudden shock yesterday when I realised it was Friday and not Thursday as I had thought  which meant I lost a day off of work in a blink!:eek:

yesterday I finished madam's scrap fabric patchwork quilt. It's great! The best one I have done :j In total it cost me £7.89 as just needed to purchase backing fabric for it :money:

Today madam is meeting up with dd so I have a few hours to spare to myself :D I of course will be sewing during this time :D I will:

    * finish madam's dress
[STRIKE]* finish the 2 paid repair jobs I have[/STRIKE] :j
    * do one of my sewing classes
    * my ds is bringing round 2 pairs of jeans for me to take up for him he didn't bring them!
    * going to draft a long pencil, take measurements and cut out fabric when I've put madam to bed

    Other than that:

    [STRIKE]* hang up washing[/STRIKE]
    * polish & vacuum bedrooms
    * go through fridge and make sure nothing perishes - freeze anything at risk
[STRIKE]* received £14.90 in int :T[/STRIKE]
    * go for a nice walk later to get out of the house
    * dinner will be an easy jacket with coronation turkey :) didn't have anything! My stomach hasn't felt right all day...
    [STRIKE][STRIKE]* check onepoll [/STRIKE][/STRIKE]- £2.80 off of payout :T
    * read book & long soak later
    * I need to unpick my socks again, and start, again! 3rd time is a charm....
    * had lo turkey noodle soup for brunch rather than getting a maccy d breakfast like I wanted :A
    * exchanged a lift to the train station for tidying madam's room with oh :money: was the best exchange ever! After he'd finished the room he got a call from a friend and got a lift with them
[STRIKE]* games night with madam tonight - oh is away watching football [/STRIKE]

ok that's me! Hope you all have a good day
