Yep, and I actually looked at the spreadsheet again and realised I remembered the figure wrong, it is £6,784.35 pa or £565.36 a month, a combination of workplace pensions, my personal pension and the state pension.

It is if I retire today and the state pension is at £121 a week I have a few more years paying in before I hit the £168 jackpot

Our pension forecast is dismal too. However we are lucky in that husband works for a company that will match 8%, so we are getting things organised so he can increase from 4.5% to 8%. But still a concern.

Are you still temping, or on a contract now? When can you start paying into a workplace pension?

We are in Hampshire and are incredibly lucky to have got on the property ladder in Brighton back in 2001, sold at the height in Jan 2007, and bought here in the slump in 2009. Maybe look at being lucky that you have a roof over your head, and look at the short term atm with housing.

Pension wise is supposed o be a good site to look at, and if you are feeling brave maybe lurk on the pension board here to see if you can pick up any hints 😉 we also have 20 odd years to sort it all out, and I must admit this past year has really hit home with our attitude to pension provision.

I am still temping, I am paying into a work place pension I opted in, albeit £14.00 a week, better than nothing. Don't really understand what the agency pay in have looked on the online website thing but Now Pensions aren't the best as showing the information!

Yes am grateful I have a roof over my head on the short term, think I am having a long term melt down! Will take a look at pension wise. Thank you x

not to be too grim about it, but i dont worry too much about later life... i mean if we are going on past deaths in family / health... i will not be going too far into a retirement age.. and this is what i heard on radio recently and first time ive heard it tbf.. even though i've always thought it.. but basically
^ if your family has a history of 100 years old's then oh god yes, plan and panic about 30 years+ of living off pensions. - if they only have a.. lets say shorter shelf life, well genetics has saved some savings and panics perhaps!

Er this is why I am stressing, I saw my nan struggle on her pension/s, the ladies in my family live until well into their late 80s early 90s aside from my Great nan, 26 of TB :( bless her. The men those are  mixed bag, some have made their 70s others their 80s and some mid 60s....
