Remembering the flyladies who are no longer with us although I do think they are still flying and checking up on us somewhere.
I’m having a day off from caring for elderly family as it has taken its tole on my health. They have phoned so I have sent other help.
Just sitting down before I start preparing yet another meal.0 -

WM x 1 done here. Ermmm - made the bed; fed the birds; disembowelled my advent calendar and recycled the cardboard; put out the rubbish and some other recycling.
Decluttered a tube of Pringles, a big Purple One, and a chocolate orange - feel a bit sick and no discernible increase in usable floorspace. Heyho - I tried
Oh, and I prepared my bag for work tomorrow - all passes, pens and paraphernalia returned to relevant pockets.
Have a good evening

The small one is already in bed. He's very tired and craving a return to routine. So, my day tomorrow may involve a very early start.
This evening I want to 'reset to zero' and make sure I'm no further behind than I was this morning. Some washing weds doing and I need to start dealing with the piles of presents. If I can persuade hubby to take the pickle out for some bits of tomorrow, I may start on the toys in his room. Toys and books should have had a pre-Christmas cull. Post Christmas it will have to be.
Must. Get. Off. My. Bum. Now. Though.

Thank you Fayolle. I doubt the M5 was free-flowing if the traffic warnings were anything to go by, but with a lot of help from OH we managed to have a lovely, lovely day with friends here - our first Christmas Day in at least seven years or so in our own home, I think. Not many presents were unwrapped, so I've still got a Flylady present to look forward to. Thank you so much to whoever sent it.
Kelpie, after a couple of uncomfortable days, was absolutely fine, enjoyed everyone's company, and had two lots of turkey and grated carrot. He was a very happy dog indeed. Sadly, this morning he woke up very uncomfortable indeed so I had to phone the vet. I knew this was going to happen fairly soon and the vet resisted a home visit which I'm afraid I insisted on. He went very, very peacefully and took his last treat with his last breath, totally unaware that anything was amiss.
It's been a very sad day because he's been in my mind for virtually every waking moment for 18 months since he damaged his cruciate ligaments and I realised his separation anxiety would get the better of him if I didn't turn my life upside down. It's been totally worthwhile but it means there's a very big gap where he used to be. I disposed of my rage at losing him with a post I probably shouldn't have made on another thread which I should regret, but I don't, not even a bit.
I'll be back to normal in a day or three.
I hope all Flyladies had a good Christmas Day, and are enjoying a thoroughly good Boxing Day.Better is good enough.0 -

Sorry for your loss, HB.
All recycling out, Himself has made a perfunctory clean of the kitchen, then I disposed of all clutter on the coffee table and put the throws back on the settee properly. Immediately the table was cleared, Idiot Cat launched himself onto it and proceeded to defend his new castle from the fluffy grumpy cat. Having just defended his cardboard box (nicknamed The Stable) from her five minutes previously. They're now occupying the throws, thankfully at opposite ends for a change, rather than fighting over who gets to [strike]make me feel like I'm melting[/strike] sit the closest to me without actually getting on my lap/shoulders/in my face sticking paws into my ribs.
Himself has disappeared upstairs for a couple of hours. I'm bored.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
So sorry for your loss HB especially at Christmas. x
Had a lovely day with family at home yesterday. The OH cooked and did most of the kitchen clean up operation.:j
I ventured into my bedroom and actually dusted the skirting boards today so now the room looks A1. Also did S&S in the ensuite. Have signed up to Motivated Moms to keep the house on track.
Won't get much done tomorrow as taking DD2 to the cinema.
Hope everyone has had a lovely Boxing Day. :xmassign:0 -
