Happy birthday to your DS roundtuit, sounds like you have a plan ! I’m in a similar predicament but hope to stick around even with being back to work

Froddy don’t forget the weight loss post on the Facebook group I need to loose about 8 stone, ds2 is doing better than me he’s on nearly 4 stone now

Thank you lil me xx I work full time too and I'm inclined to walk in and flop in the evening - especially as I now call and see Dad after work a couple of evenings each week to make sure he's ok. I also need to lose a mega amount of poundage - but I'm going down pigpen's route in 2019 and saying I will lose 'some' rather than put a number on it. Hoping it works as well for me as it has for Piggers this year :D.

Another good thing to try is to pledge that every time you enter a room, you will put away 1 item, or 3 if you have time. It's amazing how it soon shows results.

Oh that's a good one. I was struggling to find something that needed taking upstairs earlier - I have such an obsessive personality :o Going up empty handed was not an option and I grabbed dry underwear from the hall radiator to take up, but recognised the flaw in my earlier plan.

I do believe I have posted about this before (ie yes, it might have been me). I don't know how long it keeps... but mine is always in a drawer out of sunlight - but here's a link

    storing perfume

Having said that I wear it daily.

And don't forget the Valli mantra

'Don't put it down, put it away'

Thank you Valli xx I wear perfume daily too. Currently all perfumes are stored in boxes on the CoD - they will be moving in to a drawer - after being sniffed to make sure they are ok.

Rabbit hutch cleaned out and airing; understorey swept out and uneaten food (vegetable peelings) swept out and binned.

Soup constructed with YS chicken, veggies and barley (yuk) and lentils. Kids like barley; I'll just have to suffer. :rotfl: (I don't like the texture).

Very breezy which means the hutch will probably dry out. And I'm optimistic the washing will dry too.

Hello again. Reporting in to say that the frog has been dealt with and it is the final time ever I have to deal with that particular one. Also hoovered through again.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Lazy day for us here.
The wm is doing its thing, dry washing from previous loads put away, and, as we've been out, no body bad untidied anything yet.

I've done some shredding - need to oil the shredder as it's really not being efficient, although I think it's days may be numbered. I have a MASSIVE back log to get through - all my appraisal files from when I was teaching, but I am keeping on top of the new shredding I'm creating. Might see if someone has one I can borrow, then I can have one in reserve to use when mine needs a break (which it does frequently)

I will need to hang the washing up in an hour or so, and cook tea at some point, but, after that, I really should tackle some bigger jobs. Just don't know which ones.

    Well done Jazee :T:T

New bed assembled for DS, huge back of recycling rounded up, bag of clothes for charity shop waiting to go, DS old bed listed on Gumtree. DW chugging away and dog walked. Spent some time reading plastic free blogs.

Need to nag DH to put a picture up before he takes DD to the park, DS wants to walk the dog with me again.

It's good to be back :):)

    Hi all

Have submitted DHs 2017/18 tax return. Stupidly I have always kept his accounts up to date but not put the final figures together and sent the return in. Hence I didnt know that the tax bill to pay by 31 Jan was going to be £400 more than I have saved. Sigh.

Been out to parents for lunch, came in and the kitchen smells vaguely off, think the bin needs a good swill with hot water and bleach and possibly the fridge sorting. Will do that in a minute. I also want to sort through the cupboards, fridge and freezer and make a shopping list.

DS is at the docs tomorrow, slightly worried about his injured arm and the pins and needles in his hand. Also need to log in to work tomorrow, check my e-mails and submit a staff review form (lovely job).

Suffering slightly with the effects of two large glasses of wine with my lunch. Need to do something or I will nod off.

By the way ... I strongly recommend the Kon-Marie book, it sounds a bit OTT to say that it changed my life but it did. I cant say that my home is 100% clutter free now but reading this book changed my thoughts about possessions and my reasons for holding onto "stuff". It also meant that I was able to start using the storage spaces in my home properly which makes it easier to keep the place tidy, and then you realise that if the house is tidy you can clean without having to move 20 things. If you have never read it I would give it a try.

Thank you Narc0 xx I did briefly throw in the towel when DS and GF popped in - bringing in 2 bags of Christmas presents and 3 bags of birthday presents... noooo, not more stuff, we really do not need more stuff. But at least it is stuff and not rubbish!

I had to laugh though - first thing GF did was trip up - I told you she needs floor :rotfl:

    Rxx

[Warning- I do not mean any of this with malice and I hope it isn't taken as such]

RTU, mate, please try and look at it from her point of view - she can't move freely when she visits and has nearly been hurt by Stuff everywhere - I hope you didn't really laugh at the time, as that's the sort of thing that leads to people refusing to come back.

If you look at the piles as a hazard that could lead to people you care about not visiting anymore or getting hurt, it's a hell of a lot easier to be brutal - I reckon you'd easily choose her safety and company over things if it were presented as a stark choice, rather than something to laugh over.

    Look at things like this;

If the place were on fire, would it be purely fuel for the fire/obstruct our escape?

If the place were on fire, would I rush to pick it up to save it?

If the place were on fire, would I be heartbroken that it was gone?

If the place were on fire, would it be something I would have to replace immediately the fire were extinguished?

If the place were on fire, would it be something I'd get around to replacing within a month or so?

If it's not so vital that it has to be rescued or replaced immediately, it's not important. If it's fuel or blocking your escape, it's detrimental to your wellbeing.

You don't need a broken vacuum cleaner. You don't need another one when you've already got a replacement [STRIKE]that you aren't using, especially if the new hoped for one needs its own place to charge rather than hold up coats that should be put away or got rid of[/STRIKE]. It's probably easier to get new tools for the new one you already have - if you have somewhere accessible to keep them. If not, it sucks up dust already. That's the point of the thing.

People are what's important - not things.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

DD's temporary wardrobe put up - I was 'the lad' and passed DD the bits; she assembled. At least, now, she'll have somewhere to hang/store clothes. We needed to get her room straight before she starts work next week. Whether or not we have to bring the wardrobe back/remove it from the flat remains to be seen.

Another set of visitors have left the house, fed and watered. We had a lovely day, but I was glad to get the kitchen back into a semblance of order. Did I mention that the sc came back into service...yet again?! I am collapsed in a heap on the settee. Tomorrow is the last entertaining mission, then I can get some order back to this hovel.

Roundtuit - I'm late to catch up, but you keep going , girl. We're all with you. Xx
