It has reached the point where something has to be done. This conclusion was reached at 4.30 am.

The blinkers are off: I live in a midden.

roundtuit - I could have written that! At about the same time this morning, I was wide awake and took a bin bag to my bedroom! I am also going to be using some of the space in Dad's recycling and rubbish bins this week.

I cannot continue to live like this :o so I really need the support of all you wonderful people to start sorting, decluttering and tidying this place.

I am also going back to SW from next week before I end up seriously ill or dead :o

There, I've put it in black and white and you are all my witnesses :p

On a lighter note, thank you for my Secret Santa gift xx

Had been given a £30 Amazon gift card for Xmas. The person put it in a small box and wrapped it up to disguise it. Unfortunately the OH tidied the room (why? he never does that!) and threw the Tesco receipt away that was also in the box. Just tried to add the card to my account and it says the card number doesn't exist. :( Men!

if the letters are upper case try lower case (of the same letter - or vice versa) - I had an issue with an amazon card and if I recall correctly something like that that solved it.

Been to the new coop. I now have 3 packets of smoked salmon in the freezer - 40p each instead of £4. Also got a cauli for 10p and a roasted chicken for 74p so DD and I had tea of chicken, mash and cauliflower cheese. Shall make soup tomorrow.

Roundtoit what about an in and out rule? It's something I'm trying to add in for a couple of months, done before on here as a group, for everything that comes in equal in quantity goes out, so I bought 4 new towels and I ragged a towel, 4 tatty pillow cases, a bleach stained top and 16 orphaned socks

Meant no matter how much came in, I threw something out.

That's a good idea lil me xx I could adapt the idea slightly to begin with - I can throw out my old broken (cylinder) hoover which has lived under a wall unit since I bought its replacement... which is currently being used as a coat hook :o Or I could start from today and throw out the old hoover and buy myself a small lightweight cordless hoover so that I can hoover the stairs. Part of the problem is that I don't have the correct tools for the job - which makes everything such hard work.

  • Morning all,

It was DH turn to get up with the small ones so I'm enjoying a brew in bed. We decided last night we want to attempt to reduce the amount of single use plastic we go through, but it's quite hard to do so when you really drill down into your day to day habits.

DH has promised he will squash the recycling down today; our council haven't bothered to lay on alternative collections as both bin days have fallen on bank holidays, so by the time our green bin is emptied it will have been 5 weeks!

Need to empty the TD, and kiddies can craft with the Christmas cards.

    Have fab days all xx

We can do this froddington xx And breathe …

I hummed and ahhhed for a long time before I submitted my post but I needed to be upfront and say this is not a minor problem here....I actually likened it in my mind to standing up at an AA meeting :o It was a big step and I was worried I'd be judged - and everyone has been so lovely. I'm so glad I dared to take that leap of faith - forget flyladies you are all flyangels :A I'll stop before I make myself cry :o

Before coming down for my cuppa I put away the unused Christmas cards and labels that were sat on the CoD - I have a Christmas drawer but that's the first time I've opened it this year so I still have an unused stash - think it needs moving to a drawer that's easier to get to! and a list of what's in there would be useful.

I brought down a book and two unused notebooks too - they didn't belong on top of the CoD either.

Is it you that knows how to store perfume Valli? I seem to think it is. How long does perfume keep? In cellophane and unwrapped? And did you say it needs to be in a drawer?

Hmm looks like the top of my CoD is now a dot! I'm not planning this I'm letting it evolve for now.

Going to get dressed and pop to see Dad for an hour first as promised.

    Have a good day.

PS DS is now 26 years and 29 minutes old :D

Morning all. Seems like good progress is being made everywhere except here.

I had a lie in till 8am, dogs are not back until this evening. So far I have had a cuppa and a croissant and have wasted time on the internet.

Next is washing up, bleaching sinks, cleaning loos, sorting out the mountain of dirty washing and the tackling my frog. Once I'm dressed that is.

    Have a great day everyone.

Happy birthday to your DS roundtuit, sounds like you have a plan ! I’m in a similar predicament but hope to stick around even with being back to work

Froddy don’t forget the weight loss post on the Facebook group I need to loose about 8 stone, ds2 is doing better than me he’s on nearly 4 stone now

Dog with upset tummy = up earlier than I planned for today. Washers on but I can’t see me gett8ng the backlog cleared by tomorrow, managed my list before bed last night. DW too empty, more washing to do, must pot up the lasagna & meatballs to freeze. Got to pop to work to sort payroll.

OH wants to go out nye, we don’t usually go out, enjoy a drink but finding taxis is impossible, his other suggestion is stay at his mam’s, think I might offer to just drive

Want the new toilet seat on before tomorrow too old one not even attached

Another good thing to try is to pledge that every time you enter a room, you will put away 1 item, or 3 if you have time. It's amazing how it soon shows results.

I do believe I have posted about this before (ie yes, it might have been me). I don't know how long it keeps... but mine is always in a drawer out of sunlight - but here's a link

    storing perfume

Having said that I wear it daily.

And don't forget the Valli mantra

'Don't put it down, put it away'

WM x 3, last two are blowing on the line:D:money:first was towels so I used the TD on cheap rate for them. I'm not sure if the washing will fully dry but it will be lightened; and one lot was bedding inc. a duvet cover so that's better on the line anyway.
Ski trousers have finished off on the maiden overnight.

    DSW x 1 and emptied.
