I am clean, the bed is made, Xmas odds and sods tidied away, washing sorted and airer filled. Air bed blown up ready for guests staying on NYE. Breakfast dishes are washed and rubbish and recycling is out.
Going to clean the gunky WM drawer now. Appointment not till nearly 11 for glasses so a bit of time yet.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all.
I feel like I’ve been awake for half the night and up since dawn. I think it actually might have been 7.30am so next week will be a shock to the system.
We had a lovely day out yesterday but the flying went out of the window. This evening we have a couple of friends coming round which will be lovely but I am really pining for normality to return. DD will need a lift to and from town shortly as she wants to meet a friend. Otherwise I think it is more damage limitation around the house.
The kitchen floor is minging so that had better feature on the list today, even if nothing else makes it.0 -
Washing machine all clean and now on a hot wash cycle. Menu plan done and fridge sorted. Just about to dust in our bedroom before going out.
Catch you all later.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Moved the bin left across the road as it was by DD's car and it's windy.
Pikachu onesie on line in case she goes to a party...
Once I have had my breakfast I must tackle the ironing - the pile is so high it's blocking access to the cat food cupboard. It's NEVER been this high before!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning flyfriends x
I've just been woken up with the postman delivering my new kindle. The question is do I keep it or send it back?
Got a phone call late last night offering me a shift tonight and tomorrow night working in the pub I worked in when the boys were little before DD was born. Extra money is always helpful :j:T
Off to stick the WM on and see where that takes me.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
It has reached the point where something has to be done. This conclusion was reached at 4.30 am.
The blinkers are off: I live in a midden.
So, I went in to the kitchen and, before I even boiled the kettle for my morning cuppa, I gathered all the plastic and foil waiting to be washed and recycled (piles of it - several months' worth piles of it) and put it in the big black bin bag holding all the discarded Christmas wrapping paper which was still in the kitchen. The bag has been knotted and placed in the bin. The general waste bin. I have placed my sanity above the future of the planet.
My kitchen feels lighter already. So do I, even though I have now unearthed the dirty pots, which at least look do-able.
I have also: ripped up and recycled two cardboard boxes and three empty Advent calendars; cleared the airer and taken clean clothes upstairs; brought down and binned a bag of takeaway wrappers from DS's room; made my bed; WM x 2; put washi tape in the cupboard, ditto a box of biscuits (different cupboard!) and fed the birds.
There may seem to be neither rhyme nor reason to my methodology (is that a word?) but what I'm doing is: not moving from one room to another without taking something with me that belongs in the room I'm headed to, or in the bin.
I've achieved hovel to midden in 2018; hovel to haven mark 2 starts here and now: Saturday 29th December 2018 - which is the most illogical date to start anything! My Vulcan brain will just have to deal with it!
WM has stopped - chocolates and fudge will be taken and placed in kitchen cupboard; WM unloaded and reloaded then I need a wee (TMI) - photo frame and hand cream to go up the stairs with me.
Wonder what I'll be bringing down this time!
Rxx
ETA Bag full of small cardboard boxes brought down and boxes recycled. Bag now doubling as a bin bag. Bowl of pots WULTD.IT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme0 -

You are what's important - and what you've hit on is dot-to-dotting. You've dealt with a 'dot' and cleared an area. Now you KEEP THAT CLEAN - so you can now wash up recycling at the end of each wash up session then leave it to dry then bin it. By dealing with a dot you will, eventually, join the dots...and your house will be the haven you desire.
Ironing pile reduced to Mount Snowdon from Ben Nevis. DD's ski (and drip dry) trousers (two pairs) in WM as they can go outside and have a blow with Pikachu. I have also consolidated two wash baskets into one, folded DD's up and put it in her room and prepped the next two washloads.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Round... I’ve discarded my planet saving for now too everything went in the black bin.. I simply don’t have the time or the mental energy to deal with everything.. my house looks like a skip and I need to deal with that first.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
