Big queue outside my local store - its isn't a big store but noticed yesterday that they had a lot of stock left. I got there just before 9am and was at the back. Store has one long narrow aisle with stuff on both sides so very difficult to get through especially with a few buggies blocking the aisle, although I did manage it . Got Sanctuary, Jack Wills (which of these are for a man or a woman - don't know will have to look up), Joules Ted Baker. Some of the sets I have bought have similar items - but impossible to stop and browse. Happy with my Tinkerbell hat and gloves set - less happy with my Little Mix make up set - although sealed the eyeliner is missing but not worth returning for a couple of quid. Spent about £90. Brothers birthday present sorted for next week and will keep a few myself and give my daughter one or two but most I will store and save for pressies next year.
  • All I can say it was horrific in my small boots. They had the yankee candles at the front, there wasnt many left when i went in but as u were going around the store u just heard candles smashing.
The trolleys the staff use to stock shelves people were using those.
I'm in a wheelchair. Could not get out at all bec of the queues for paying. This woman helped me and basically shouted and barged her way thru to make a path for me as people wouldn't move.
I didnt enjoy it at all.

  • was at the one at the Princess Anne retail park in Sutton Coldfield

a lot of people were filling up the shopping trolleys (nicking the ones from Marks and Spencer)

got the two items i wanted and spent less than a tenner (as with others on the forums got better stuff from other retailers)

others were spending the typical 80 to over 100 quid on a load of items

Zoella stuff wasn't selling, along with the Hype items

the assistant in Boldmere was wondering why the Little Mix stuff wasn't shifting
Debt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO
  • Our boob prize this year is everything by Kendall and Kylie - still shelves left, with no interest being shown.

A 'Boob prize' - how apt!

I'd say there were fewer people at ours, but less stock that had been condensed into one corner. So what happened was more of a rugby scrum than normal, no pushing or shoving (most people were very polite as usual) but once you were in an aisle there was no getting out.

Also, this is the first year our local hired in extra security staff.

Anyway, I spent about £78 and 'saved' £182. Got the big soap & glory make-up set that I was after, it was mainly make-up I came away with but I was also pleased with the Zoella hot water bottle/tupperware that I found.

Well done to all the Boots staff working this morning, it can't be an easy job on sale day :T

I went to Westfields in W12. Fair but there but no Sanctuary, or No 7. The only Soap & Glory was a mini set that was £5 before the sales started. Bought nothing, but I did witness one person with 3 massive net baskets filled...eek

I went to Lakeside. It was chaos.

People were polite in that there wasn't much pushing and shoving (the 3 men i saw in there were the worst!!) but once you were in, you were stuck.

I saw teams of people with a dozen bags full of stuff, who were then blocking up the entire back aisle to sort out what they did and didn't want.

I got few bits and pieces that I was very happy with, but it's not the event that it was a few years ago (probably not a bad thing for boots!).

The sales assistant who was checking us out was so lovely. Bless her, she had swapped a day and didn't even know this was on until he arrived today. Is hate to work in boots at this time!

    I echo this.
Don't know how the staff at the store I was in kept their patience this morning the way some folk were carrying on!! Completely unnecessary....

Queue at mine didn't seem as long as normal this morning but once inside it was as chaotic as ever.
Couldn't move down the aisle for people who were seemingly working together and not allowing anyone else to get near the staff who were trying to bring cages of stock out.
Masses amount of stock brought out including star gifts which people were hoarding.
Absolutely tons of Yardley gifts and Kendall & Kylie o whatever it is.
Staff were telling people who were seemingly hogging the most sought after items that they could only buy 6 of an item. For what it was worth as those working together would just go and buy 6 each or pay for some upstairs and some downstairs. Very difficult to control in reality!!
