Canadian shares

I have a few hundred canadian shares which were given to me. At the moment I'm holding it with Charles Stanley (execution only). I believe they've updated their charges and now I'm unsure whether to remain with them, transfer to another platform or whether to just sell the shares?

Does anyone else have foreign shares with them or anyone else? I'm just not sure about the overall charges so if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it's safe to do. Open a nominee account with them and then send the certificates in to them together with the Crest Transfer form - If it was me I would post it to them via recorded/registered post to be on the safe side.

As above, open the nominee sharedealing account and then send the certificates in to X-O. They will then add the 1998 shares (1515 plus the 483) to your nominee sharedealing account.
Once your nominee account is up and running and your shares have been added to your sharedealing account you are ready to sell whatever number of shares you wish to.

Once logged in to your account you will see your 1998 shares showing in your account, at the top of the page select the 'Trading' tab and then fill in the details for the stock you hold and are wanting to sell. You can choose the amount of shares you want to sell, either 'quantity' or 'cash amount' so if you are wanting to sell 670 select quantity and enter 670.
Once the trade has gone through the money from the sale will be added to your sharedealing account (if you want to withdraw the money from this sale you then ask X-O to send it out to your nominated bank account) and it will show 1328 shares remaining in your account.

Yes you will continue to receive the dividend for as long as you hold the shares. The dividends payment will normally be credited to your nominee sharedealing account on the day X-O receive them from the registrar.

Week ahead: Budget speech and FOMC meeting lie ahead

LONDON (SHARECAST) - In the coming week traders will focus on the next policy meeting of the US Federal Reserve, when it is expected that it will remove the reference to being patient when it starts to normalise monetary policy.
That comes as the Fed is expected to carry out its first increase in the Fed funds rate, either in June or in September.

Acting as a backdrop, the federal government's debt ceiling is expected to be reached on Monday - although the potential for mayhem appears to be slight until next fall.

In the UK, the Chancellor is due to deliver his much-awaited Budget speech, with just two months to go before the next general elections.

The Swiss central bank, Bank of Japan and Norges Bank are all scheduled to hold monetary policy meetings.

Has anyone heard/got a view on RLD?

One of my friends has been in for a few months and mentioned them to me this week.

(I've made good on AIM shares...and also not so good, overall though slightly positive.)

Share price has leapt up since beginning of the year. Trouble is being so small a market capitalisation receives little proper market coverage.

If I buy say £10000 of Whitbread shares at the close of business the day before the dividend is due I will receive this dividend the following day?

Is this correct?
