  • I bought shares through an internet stockbroker. I still have some left but i am not a regular invester, i plan to keep the shares i have for a while, however the stickbroker has announced it will charge £20 per quarter. As i am not a regular invester/dealer paying this doesn't make financial sense. They say i could get a new stockbroker and then a transfer can be arranged. Can anyone help and tell me what other options are open to me?

You need to read through the iii introducing £20 quarterly charge thread.

Probably start about half way through as a number of options are discussed depending on your circumstances.

Sabre, hopefully you managed to look at AFF since I mentioned it a few weeks back. Nice RNS today and a new note from Edison.

No guarantees in life but I'd stick my house on this one :)

p.s TPL going ok since buying in a couple of weeks back too

Had a little look, so many opportunities I think are out there. Theres alot of competition for attention and funds
My parents used to work in Cameroon, is Simandou the area is of most interest
Shares in Afferro Mining (AFF) rose by 4.75p to 46.25p on news that International Mining and Infrastructure (IMIC) has acquired a 3.9% stake in the Cameroon-focused iron ore exploration and development company. IMIC plans to turn this stake into a strategic one by putting forward, through its partner African Iron Ore Group (AIOG), a comprehensive infrastructure package proposal for its operations. "We believe Afferro offers an attractive opportunity alongside our shared interest, with AIOG, in the Simandou South infrastructure related project." International Mining shares closed 2.5p higher at 29p.

Hi, total shares noob here, can anyone give a basic guide to buying shares? I expect this has been asked numerous times already, I've had a look at a couple of sites offering free trading, Plus500 is one of them, is it wise to use something like this or are there going to be hidden charges?

Plus500 is a market leading provider of Contracts for Difference (CFDs

Thats not a share, its a bet on the price change over time. Go read nakedtrader

Cadogan further weakness today, once it loses grip on 30 its destined to test 20 again which it has today pretty much . Volume is still average to lower and I see no news..
Are they going to issue new shares to get funds maybe

  • A little advice on shares please, my brother and I have inherited a number of shares in four UK companies and two US companies, neither of us have a clue about this industry, is there a cost to change the owners name and how do I go about it ?

Change of owner is a sale so I would expect charges and probably stamp duty also.

Speak to the broker who holds the shares or if have them in paper then the share registrar of that company

You've got your target on Beowulf Mining. Great future for that share when it comes.

Well I bought too early I guess but whats 20% between friends :o

Big volume on this adjustment, if its not holding here its making 5p possible I was thinking this earlier. Why news triggers selling Im not quite sure, they expected a big positive?

I only bought a bit, there is actual production in play with cash in shares making many other companies great value right now. This one might be good but it'll take a while to know
