I was a bit worried that when entering the password on X-O application, the password was displayed on the screen.

Is it safe?

I've had no problems with them - except when I wanted to open an ISA to run along with my nominee account and the system demanded ID which seemed ridiculous as they already "knew" me.
I phoned them up and the guy who answered couldn't have been more helpful, sorted it out then and there and I had email confirmation of the ISA being ready for use within 5 minutes.

BTW, my password isn't displayed when I log in, just the normal row of asterisks.

Old Mutual is giving a special dividend to shareholders on June I believe followed by a seven for eight share consolidation. Can anyone tell me exactly what the consolidation bit means and what effect is that likely to have on the share price. Finally does this affect in any way someone already on a company share save scheme (Old Mutual), for example the scheme says the option after five years is 10,000 shares at 50p. Thanks for any guidance.

You have 800 shares. They take them and give you back 700 new ones.

The price will do the same ratio change and your options also. There is no value difference to the total worth of the company

So very roughly if I have an option at the moment for 10,000 shares and assuming this consolidation goes through I should then receive a new option certificate showing roughly 8750 shares if my maths is correct.

Yep pretty sure it adjusts in line, you may need to ask them to confirm as no new cert may come
