Blimey, I did not realise that you could have debt that is not included in the DMP.

you cant really. it goes against the principles. It started as a dmp in my name, debt continued to build in dh name so we added him on minus the c card linked to his current account cos he wouldnt swap accounts. He pays the minimum on that and its interest free till oct 2020. Its the only debt hes in charge off.
the other one is because a bank transfer of mine went wrong about 18 months ago. the money was found and refunded fairly quick (750) but then a few weeks later the same amount again was re- paid into my account. I tried to pay it back but no one could say who to pay it back too and no one wanted it. I kept it for a few months in my Isa but then stuff happened and it got spent. . then 9 or so months later a dca started to contact me... Long story short is I owe the money that was accidentally transferred to me the second time. The 588 im aiming to pay next is whats left of this amount. Never a simple story with regards to my finances..

thanks.ive got some dvds that need to be sent off and random toys thst can be sold on. Its only bits but pennies make pounds. I've got some time off over summer from main job so need to catch up with house and real life whilst entertaining the littles. Ive made a small pay a day this morning to round my bank account down to zero so thats a good start.

another pay a day made. main day wages today so paid the pence to the smallest debt. im not keeping a record as i get a monthly statement so dont need to keep adding my pences up. hopefully it will just go down by itself as i get in the habit of directing bits to it.
hopefully off to park today before it gets to hot then need to be boring and start work on the house. i wasnt here last weekend and did long shifts the weekend before, the house is bad....kids and dh have trashed it. a few hours graft is in order.

I really cannot believe that your money is still missing.
    It beggers belief.

    I agree
new target is my smallest debt whic is 588 pounds.
im in a dmp so all of the debt is 0%. 2 debts arent included in the dmp -one because dh refused to swap banks and the other because its a new debt after the defaults.
Im still waiting on responses from 2 creditors about our reduced dmp payments but fingers crossed. Childcare goes up again in September when they are all at school so a revised DMP is in place.
Ive not included my extra earnings in it as they are not guaranteed and are the only method we have to save up for anything.
After much hype I have decided to follow the Dave Ramsey method of small to high. Im bypassing the 1000 emergency fund as that would take a year or two which is very demotivating. I have 200 in my mot fund and pay 7 pounds a week via standing order to an e fund. Currently at the grand total of 85 pounds....The idea is I earn my way out if trouble whilst the fund builds up.
So after much waffle 588 is the target to pay off first. Target date 31.12.19... Just because it sounds a nice date to aim for.

Good luck with it :) New year one less debt sounds fab :T
